00:03 a new generation wants to be a business owner or freelancer based on a survey.

00:09 It includes Gen X, born in 1965 to 1980,

00:13 and Gen Y, or millennials, born in 1981 to 1996.

00:19 Katrina Son has a report.

00:24 When he was young, Don loved to do business. He was doing it even when he was still studying.

00:30 So when he finished his course in Marketing Management, he started a car wrapping business.

00:35 The business owner is Jeyo Huete. He tried to apply for a job but he was not allowed.

00:51 I motivated him to build his own business.

00:55 When I fail on a certain thing, I feel more motivated to do something else.

01:00 Now, he is able to do what he wants because he has his own business.

01:05 Don and Jeyo are among the Gen X and Gen Y who do not follow the habits of most people who depend on their jobs.

01:15 In the survey that was part of the 10th study of Fieldcare, more Gen X and Gen Ys were self-employed as business owners.

01:23 36.3% of their respondents, compared to 12.8% of service and sales workers.

01:31 The remaining 9.5% are self-employed professionals, including freelancers.

01:37 According to a sociologist, the increase of those who try to do business or freelance

01:43 is a way to keep up with the times.

01:45 Our society has enabled people to be able to explore and to be able to create new models.

01:54 There's this freedom now because nowadays, when you say work, it has evolved from agricultural to industrial.

02:03 And now you're seeing now that there's a new model that people can work effectively

02:09 even if you're just alone in your house, you're doing your own work, your own business, your own home.

02:17 Technology is also helping a lot.

02:20 According to the survey, the top four priorities of Gen X and Gen Y are health benefits,

02:26 job satisfaction, monetary benefits, and ease of travel.
