The Utah Jazz gave up 75 points in the first half to the lowly Washington Wizards in their 127-115 win.

00:00 It was a tale of two halves defensively for us.
00:06 The first half, we did a really poor job guarding the ball
00:10 and protecting the paint.
00:13 Gave up 30 paint points in the first half.
00:17 We gave up way too many of those paint points
00:19 to pick and roll ball handlers.
00:21 There's no reason for us to let the person with the ball
00:25 get all the way to the basket.
00:26 That's not how we're trying to defend.
00:28 I thought the team obviously made a great adjustment
00:31 at halftime.
00:33 We looked at a few things as a group,
00:35 and we were able to get up 12 paint points
00:39 the entire second half.
00:42 Transition, Washington plays incredibly fast.
00:46 I thought the fourth quarter, obviously giving up zero
00:49 transition points was massive.
00:50 But overall, the game for us really
00:52 came down to our ability to protect the paint as a group
00:57 in the second half.
00:58 Offensively, I feel like the team
01:01 continues to try to move the ball and play together.
01:06 29 assists tonight, obviously Jordan
01:09 had a big night for us with 38 points.
01:14 I'm honestly more proud of his 10 rebounds than his 38 points,
01:18 if I'm being very honest with you guys.
01:20 Colin had a great night as well.
01:22 I thought John's activity all night,
01:24 continuing to be relentless on the glass, even the ones
01:26 he didn't get, was fantastic for us.
01:30 So it's a good team win.
01:34 Clearly, some injuries that happened during the game.
01:38 Keontae goes out, Taylor goes out.
01:40 We're going to check on their status after the game
01:44 and see how they respond tomorrow.
01:47 So we ended up having a lot of lineups
01:50 out there that maybe no one in this room, myself included,
01:52 had imagined until we were put in that situation.
01:56 So credit to the team.
01:59 I also do want to shout out Johnny Juzang.
02:02 I thought he played 20 rock solid minutes.
02:07 Johnny's worked really hard since he got with us last year.
02:12 He's a guy who probably hasn't gotten enough opportunity based
02:17 on roster and timing and health and a variety of things.
02:25 But I can say without question, Johnny's
02:28 worked incredibly hard for the last year and a half,
02:31 and he's really improved.
02:34 And so I was happy for him tonight to really step in
02:38 and give us 20 very productive minutes,
02:40 and he really helped us win.
