Spoilers ahead for the Season 4 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Months passed in the Law & Order universe by the time Organized Crime's fourth season picked up in the 2024 TV schedule, but the task force was still struggling with the death of Whelan from the end of the Season 3 finale. All of them navigated their grief differently; Bell is working to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, Stabler threw himself into undercover work, and Jet and Reyes... well, they're having an affair. Danielle Moné Truitt spoke with CinemaBlend about how spread thin Bell is after all these months, and I'm already anxiously awaiting Stabler finding out about Jet and Reyes.

00:00 Yes, we definitely are. So when you see us in the first episode, you're going to see that, yeah,
00:07 we are all still dealing with his death and just the loss and not having him there. You know,
00:13 his desk is still just empty. Nothing has been changed on it since he was last on the desk or
00:21 at that desk. And Stabler is just coming back from doing an undercover job that he took, you know,
00:29 so he could kind of deal or cope, not really deal with it, but cope with the grief, you know,
00:35 of losing him so abruptly. And then you see Jet and Reyes trying to navigate the office
00:42 without him being there. You know, they were all very close. And then Bell is kind of there
00:52 helping the team navigate their loss by kind of just being honest with them about where they're
01:00 at. So, excuse me, in episode one, you see her talking to Stabler, you know, he comes back from
01:06 this undercover job and, you know, in true Stabler fashion, he's like, I'm back. And, you know, he's
01:14 very focused on like, this happened and I need you to help me with blah, blah, blah. And she's like,
01:20 whoa, chill out. Like you haven't been here for the last few months, you know, you haven't been
01:25 able to help, you know, them navigate their grief. So, you know, you're going to have to
01:31 just slow down a bit, you know, give us a second, you know. So they have that conversation or
01:38 whatever. And then Bell, I think for her coping mechanism, her coping mechanism is to fix
01:45 what's wrong, you know. So she's like, we lost Jamie, what can I do to change things so that
01:51 that never happens again, you know. And so she brings in this AI tech guy that helps with a
01:57 new form of policing that's supposed to be, you know, more accurate than just our normal police
02:04 officers using our own instinct, if that makes any sense. There's this whole program that you do,
02:10 it's like, okay, you know, what's the best way to go about this for the best result, you know.
02:15 And Bell is very results driven. I think that's kind of how she copes with these kind of situations.
02:21 So yeah, you'll see everybody just, things are just a little like off a little bit when the
02:28 season begins.
