00:00 Engineers are here on site today to monitor this building that has partially collapsed
00:08 here in Rockdale in Sydney's south and this began early on Friday morning when a 10 metre
00:13 wide sinkhole formed and as you can see from the aerial footage, concrete has now been
00:21 poured into that sinkhole and we also know that this is a two-storey commercial complex
00:28 which is about 200 metres long and engineers have said that it has partially collapsed
00:34 and they are working to see what the next steps here are needed including whether more
00:39 concrete is needed here at the site.
00:41 And Alison, do we know what caused the sinkhole?
00:46 Well this sinkhole formed above the current construction for the M6 tunnel and Transport
00:52 for NSW has confirmed that tunnelling was underway at the time but they are still investigating
00:59 whether there is a link between that tunnelling and construction and this sinkhole forming.
