00:00 In 2023, Newcastle was voted the best city in the UK for fashion, food and nightlife.
00:07 The research said the town was said to give off some of the best vibes in being the most
00:11 welcoming city and having the best pub scene.
00:14 I think it's just because it's down to the people really. It's like a friendly place.
00:19 Everybody always says that whenever you go to Newcastle, you always pass somebody in
00:23 the street, you get a smile and everybody's just got loads of band hour up here. It's
00:27 yeah, it does, it creates that buzz when you've got that friendly atmosphere and it's a welcoming
00:33 place as well. So yeah.
00:36 So if you're looking for a little bit of inspiration for your date night, then perhaps visiting
00:40 one of Newcastle's numerous eateries is the way to go. Are you picky when it comes to
00:44 dining? Well, if you're a fan of Indian cuisine, perhaps my deli located on Clayton Street
00:50 is worth a try. Or do you prefer Thai food? Well, Mancha Thai located around the corner
00:56 from the Life Centre or Kai Kai, which is down on the Quayside might just tickle your
01:01 fancy. If dinner and drinks is up your street, then the Botanist beside Grey's Monument offers
01:06 gastro pub style dining and botanical cocktails. Or failing that even, Lola Jean's on Market
01:13 Street offers an elegant setting and a wide range of cocktails. Perfect for date night
01:18 vibes.
01:19 I would recommend Malcalzone, which is in Sandyford in Jesmond. It's a family run business.
01:27 The food is amazing and it's really good quality. It's Italian food, but they have a specials
01:31 menu and it's really, really good.
01:34 In terms of nightlife, there's bars to pick aplenty. According to a list by Design My Night,
01:39 some of the best clubs in Newcastle include Chachabuchi/Howler's, which has one of the
01:44 biggest ball pits in the UK and features sunshine slushies. Nightclub Jalou also features on
01:50 this list. Located in the city centre, it's host to a resident DJ every weekend whilst
01:56 also boasting huge club nights and fanciful cocktails. But if it's drinks and an activity
02:01 you're after, then why not try out NQ64? Boasting booze and beats, this arcade themed bar is
02:08 located on Pilgrim Street. There you can find a range of retro arcade games and game until
02:14 your heart is content. Or if you fancy yourself as a bit of a golfer, Golf Fang is Instagrammable
02:20 as much as it is fun, featuring an 18 hole course and bespoke cocktails.
02:26 If you find a pub that's got a bit of music on, of course everybody likes a bit of music,
02:30 don't they? It makes you feel good, have a bit of dance, have a bit of sing-song, even
02:33 though it might be bad. But yes, it's uplifting, you know? And of course everybody wants to
02:39 have a bit of that, don't they?
02:40 It's a small city, everybody knows each other, you can't get away from it. You're like a
02:44 salmon, you always return back. It just gets better and better. I mean, it's a little bit,
02:49 it's not on it's knees, but it's the north. You've got to be warm and vibrant when you
02:54 have nothing else.
02:55 And after having been crowned the best city for a night out by Get Licensed in 2023, it's
03:00 hoped that Newcastle can retain it's popularity for another year yet.
