01:07 The protection of the South China Sea is a vital, critical global artery.
01:12 It's crucial to the preservation of regional peace
01:15 and I dare say of global peace.
01:18 (News Anchor speaking in Tagalog)
01:24 The challenges that we face may be formidable,
01:28 but equally formidable is our resolve.
01:31 We will not yield.

01:41 We draw strength from the consistent and unequivocal support of Australia
01:47 and the international community for the lawful exercise of our rights
01:52 which have been settled under international law.
01:56 And so, on behalf of the Filipino people,
02:00 I thank you, Australia, for standing with the Republic of the Philippines.

02:26 Once again, we must come together as partners
02:29 to face the common challenges confronting the region.
02:32 Not one single country can do this by itself.
02:36 No single force can counter them by themselves.
02:40 This is why our strategic partnership has grown more important than ever.
02:46 We must reinforce each other's strengths.
02:48 We must protect the peace that we fought for during the war
02:52 and have jealously guarded in the decades since.
02:55 We must oppose actions that clearly denigrate the rule of law.
02:59 President Marcos also addressed the issue of climate change in his speech.
03:03 He needs multilateralism to address this issue.
03:08 He called for the government's action in advancing
03:11 an affordable, sustainable, and inclusive energy transition towards carbon neutrality.
03:17 Our past successes should inspire us to forge ahead
03:21 in building the future to which we aspire.
03:25 For the Philippines, we continue to see that future
03:28 in our identity as Asians and as members of the Pacific family.
03:33 Together with our Asian neighbors, and in that group, I include Australia,
03:38 we continue to work for a regional community that empowers all of our citizens.
03:44 President Marcos was honored to return home today.
03:48 Alan Francisco, for Pabansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
