On March 28, 2009, i went up to Bryson City, North Carolina expecting to ride the train but i missed it.
So i headed down to where the Tuckasegee River rafting finish line to wait for it. Around 11:30 it showed up. This is the nantahala gorge excursion (west bound). It departs from the bryson city station. Its a 4 1/2 hour, 44 mile round trip taking passengers along the Tuckasegee River, over the Fontana Lake Trestle and into the Nantahala River Gorge with a 1 hour layover at the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
I named this part 1 because i hope to get up there again in the next week or two and try to catch it again. Hopefully i will be on it then and hopefully the weather will be a bit better than it was here.
