00:00 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. instructed that technical and vocational education and training be included in the curriculum of Senior High School.
00:10 The President instructed this yesterday in the sectoral meeting held yesterday,
00:15 where the President wanted the graduates of Senior High School to be more prepared to enter the workforce or work.
00:24 The Executive Board also gave the need to re-skill and up-skill Filipino workers
00:32 to meet the demand of the current labor market not only here in the Philippines but also abroad.
00:39 According to TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadato,
00:42 through this, aside from the diploma, the Senior High Graduates will also have a National Competency Skill Certification
00:51 that will help them get a job.
00:54 TESDA, DOLE and DepEd came up with a proposal to the President to strengthen Senior High School.
01:03 Because there is a study, the PIDS, that there's a demand for workers
01:13 but we cannot really provide enough knowledge
01:20 and the Senior High School will not be employed immediately.
01:25 So what the President had instructed TESDA Director General, Secretary Mangudadato,
01:32 is for him to work closely with DepEd and harmonize the curriculum of Tivet as well as that of the Senior High School.
