00:00 >> You expect the Mel versus the team value side?
00:02 >> I mean, in ways, cuz I hear that question around town a lot.
00:06 People will come in, the first thing they'll say is, hey,
00:09 we're not gonna lose Derek, are we?
00:11 I think I've probably, in my 12 months on this job,
00:14 have gotten more Derek Henry questions than anything.
00:17 So I understand that piece of it too, but
00:19 I have a responsibility to build this team long term.
00:24 And like I said, we'll cross that bridge with Derek and his team when we get there.
00:27 >> With Will Levis, where did you see him progress the most and
00:30 what do you wanna see from him heading into year two?
00:32 >> I think it's like with most young quarterbacks, it's getting play and time.
00:36 Being out there, he spent the earlier part of the season as the inactive third.
00:40 And then when he got his opportunity to play, he took off and ran with it.
00:45 So for him, it's continuing to get time on task, and
00:48 especially now coming into a new offense.
00:51 Getting him in that, getting him knowledgeable of it.
00:55 And for Will, it's about creating that consistency.
00:57 When he was at Kentucky, he had multiple offensive coordinators.
01:00 I think he may have had the same offense maybe twice in his career.
01:03 So I wanna be able to create that consistency for him, get him used to making
01:06 calls, and get him to where he's making all the calls and checks up front.
01:11 >> Hey, Randy.
01:11 >> [INAUDIBLE]
01:16 How important is that to you and
01:18 how's it gonna be working together so far?
01:21 >> I think it's paramount from the simple fact that I'm not designing any schemes or
01:26 calling any plays.
01:28 The cool thing that we did is prior to coming here,
01:30 we had a big profile tape meeting, what we call profile tapes.
01:33 Where each of our position coaches put together what they're looking for
01:39 at their respective positions, and it was very, very, very, very detailed.
01:43 And we were in a unique position that all of our scouts,
01:46 with the exception of two, live in Nashville.
01:48 So we had everybody come in the building, and we got in our team meeting room,
01:52 which is the big enough space to hold everybody.
01:54 And we locked in for, I think we went with the offense first, and
01:59 that was a day of four hours where we were in the room going through each one.
02:02 And then we went with the defense second, and
02:05 then we'll meet with the special teams coaches when we get back.
02:07 But again, that's all about us getting on the same page,
02:10 A, being able to speak the same language.
02:12 But then also us as scouts getting to know what the coaches need to make their
02:16 scheme successful.
02:17 >> Do you think Randy, maybe the top player-
