00:00 First topic of today's episode a big-time target for Oregon in the
00:05 2025 class is going to be taking the trip out to Eugene in just a couple of weeks
00:11 We are talking about four star five star linebacker
00:16 Safety Jonah Williams out of Ball High School in Galveston, Texas
00:22 He's viewed by some as a linebacker some as a safety
00:26 But he is the one that we're talking about on this portion of the podcast
00:30 According to a report from on threes Sam Spiegelman five-star linebacker Jonah Williams will visit Oregon on March
00:38 17th and if you're looking at defensive targets
00:41 Linebacker or safety. I think Oregon looks at him as a linebacker. He's listed at six foot three and 203 pounds
00:50 There's not a whole lot of targets that are
00:54 bigger for the Ducks here in the 2025 recruiting class and
00:58 Williams is as big of a visitor as we've seen come through Oregon and just the recent
01:04 Month or so if you're looking at his rankings, he's ranked the number 5th 14 player on the 247 sports composite
01:12 That's the overall in the country and number two linebacker and the number three recruit out of the state of, Texas
01:18 Like I mentioned a five-star recruit
01:23 9.9
01:24 9.920 according to the 247 sports composite and it looks like Oregon might have a little bit of work to do in
01:32 this recruitment seeing that
01:34 Oklahoma is the current crystal ball favorite according to Steve Wolfong
01:40 the 247 sports director of recruiting and then Mike Roach who is a
01:46 Texas regional analyst for 247 has also
01:50 placed a crystal ball in favor of Brent Benables and the Oklahoma Sooners both of those picks came in
01:57 February earlier this month
01:59 so it looks like Oklahoma has the momentum here, but
02:03 Oregon's got a shot. They got a real shot
02:06 I think with Williams seeing that he is an elite defensive prospect. Dan Lanning is a defensive minded head coach and
02:13 Jonah Williams was in Eugene
02:16 I want to say for the USC game back in November
02:20 I think that was his latest trip
02:21 so super important for him to get back on campus and get some more time with Dan Lanning Tasha Poi and
02:29 Maybe Chris Hampton or Brian
02:31 Michalowski
02:33 Depending on what position the Ducks look at him at I need to do a little bit of digging to
02:38 Kind of shore that one up, but I'm thinking that he's probably a linebacker in Oregon system
02:43 We will just have to see and continue to see how this one plays out
