00:03 - We're talking about Caleb Williams,
00:04 who has been sensational in his college football career.
00:07 Over 10,000 yards passing here,
00:09 120 total touchdowns and only 14 interceptions.
00:13 He was the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.
00:17 And most quite frankly,
00:18 a lot of people had him pegged to possibly go back to back
00:21 in 2023 as well.
00:23 But things didn't work out all that great.
00:25 And it is a team sport and USC did not live up to the hype.
00:28 We take a look at the number one overall pick odds here.
00:31 Caleb Williams is a heavy favorite at minus 1600.
00:35 So my question to you is here,
00:36 do you think this talent is going to stack up right away
00:39 in the NFL?
00:40 And also, do you believe he'll be the first pick
00:43 in the draft?
00:43 And also, will he be a Chicago bear?
00:46 - Without a shadow of a doubt,
00:49 Caleb Williams is going to be the first overall pick
00:52 at minus 1600.
00:53 The odds are that way for a reason.
00:56 They might move over the next two months
00:59 into this draft cycle as combine week begins
01:02 in Indianapolis.
01:03 Workouts on Thursday,
01:05 measurements taken throughout this week,
01:07 interviews with the 32 NFL clubs in Indy this week
01:11 for the best prospects in the 2024 draft.
01:14 The odds might move,
01:16 but Caleb Williams is going first overall.
01:18 Again, the disclaimer is that doesn't have to be
01:22 first overall to Chicago,
01:24 just the first player to hear his name called
01:27 on the opening night of the 2024 NFL draft
01:30 on Thursday, April 25th.
01:33 That to me is a virtual certainty for Caleb Williams.
01:37 I still believe the Bears are going to be the team
01:40 using that number one overall selection
01:42 to take Caleb Williams in parting ways with Justin Fields
01:46 at a certain point of this off season
01:48 over the next two months.
01:49 But without a doubt,
01:51 whether it's Chicago or Washington moving up
01:54 or another team that tries to take that first overall pick,
01:58 Caleb Williams is going to be the first overall selection.
02:02 Now generational talent is something that could be given
02:06 to him, but generational is an adjective
02:09 that maybe we use a little bit too loosely
02:12 or overuse the last few years.
02:15 I think Caleb Williams is going to be great.
02:17 I think Caleb Williams is deserving
02:19 of that minus 1600 price to be a first overall selection.
02:23 Generational, I'm not entirely sure,
02:26 but when you look at the numbers for Caleb Williams,
02:29 his highs in winning season in 2022,
02:32 he had a 66.6% completion percentage,
02:36 4,537 passing yards,
02:39 42 passing scores to only five interceptions
02:43 and a passer rating of 168.5.
02:47 Also ran it for 10 touchdowns.
02:49 He was in the Heisman conversation
02:52 for the first two months or so
02:53 of the college football season
02:55 before USC stumbled down the stretch,
02:58 but the numbers were almost there.
03:00 30 passing touchdowns to five interceptions,
03:03 played one less game of course, than he did in 2022.
03:08 But he had a better passing rating at north of 170,
03:11 had more rushing touchdowns as well
03:14 and a better completion percentage.
03:16 Caleb Williams is deserving
03:17 of being that first overall pick.
03:19 Is he generational?
03:21 We'll wait and see.
