Dominating Atlanta’s thriving car-modding scene has come easy for one man and his Joker-themed, speaker-packed bass-mobile. Jay Jones, AKA ‘Joka’, used 62 speakers to transform his 2004 Tahoe into an earth-shaking monster on 30-inch rims, and he’s causing a stir at car shows around the South East US. Jay, whose moniker stands for ‘Justified Over Known Adversity’ told Ridiculous Rides: “When I go to shows and people hear me turn the truck on, they get to dancing, they come over with cameras, they enjoy my truck. “I focus on audio because I like to please the crowd and also I like to get the crowd moving, I like to see the kids dancing around, even the old people, you know?"

00:43 It stands for Justified Overknown Adversities.
00:47 I have doors that are made of Infinity glass.
00:50 I'm the first person to have ever done Infinity mirror doors.

02:14 The highest dBs I got in this truck was maybe a 162.8.
02:22 That was outlaw and sealed.
02:25 The highest I got was like a 160.6.
02:28 [MUSIC]
02:33 It's the Ghost.
02:34 Got the Ghost of Joker in here, custom Joker license plate.
02:39 Over here is more amps with the Harley Quinn.
02:43 And what else I got?
02:45 And of course, you see me on here with the little sticker.
02:48 I got the little chrome pieces that say ha, ha, ha.
02:52 I got this truck on my birthday probably four years ago.
02:57 It was just a plain truck.
02:58 It was like a dark blue.
03:00 It didn't have nothing on it.
03:01 It was just clean.
03:02 Right here, I have 30 inch rims, Star Judge.
03:07 In here, I have the wheel lights.
03:09 I have digital LED creation lights.
03:13 Down here, I have a plate cut out that says Infinity Tahoe.
03:18 It lights up.
03:19 That's all I got.
03:21 The hood.
03:22 It's got a Joker face on the hood.
03:24 The engine is just a 5.3 V8.
03:29 I put an air intake on it to make it faster.
03:33 It ain't no race car or nothing, but hey,
03:38 but you pull up inside it, I think I can get you.
03:41 It took three and a half months to do the audio build.
03:49 It took the guy a year to do my paint.
03:57 I've had a passion for cars mostly all my life
04:01 because my dad did car shows when I was little.
04:04 That's what really made me want to be in the car scene
04:08 as I got older.
04:10 I use this truck mainly to go and do the shows.
04:14 This helps me deal with the death of my dad.
04:16 My dad passed away three and a half years ago.
04:19 When I go to the shows and I win, it does something to me.
04:22 Like, it messes me up.
04:25 Like, when I leave, after I get my trophies,
04:28 I ride in the truck by myself and play my music.
04:31 You know, I shed a tear
04:32 because I feel like my dad watching me.
04:35 Every weekend, I do shows.
04:45 It might be two to three shows every weekend.
04:48 I got 169 trophies now.
04:51 The last show that I just went to last week,
04:55 I ended up winning nine trophies.
04:57 When I go to shows and people hear me turn the truck on,
05:02 shoot, they get to dancing.
05:03 They come over there with cameras
05:14 or they come over there with their phones.
05:16 They, you know, they talk to me and they enjoy my truck.
05:19 Like, the kids, they love it.
05:20 But when they sit in the inside,
05:21 the first thing they do, they grab their ears.
05:24 No, don't grab your ears.
05:26 What you need to do is learn how to control your breathing
05:28 because the bass will pull your breath.
05:31 And I tell them, "Hold on to your hat,"
05:33 because it's a bass.
05:35 It blows your hair.
05:36 It makes towels float.
05:38 It makes bags float.
05:40 It'll knock their glasses off.
05:42 And they love it.
05:42 Like, they love it.
05:50 I focus on audio because I like to please the crowd.
05:53 So I like to get the crowd moving.
05:55 I like to see the kids dancing around,
05:58 even the old people, you know.
05:59 When it gets dark, this truck really comes to life.
06:08 It probably look like a big disco ball.
06:14 You might think it's actually Christmas.
06:18 I have roughly probably like 60,000 in this truck.
06:21 Too much.
06:23 I think I would consider selling the truck
06:28 if the right money come along, I'll let it go.
06:31 Even though I put a lot of hard work into it,
06:34 I'll sell it and do something bigger.
06:36 I would have to do something to top it.
06:38 Hey, I don't know how much the right money is.
06:41 What you have to do is come to me and say,
06:43 "Look, I want to get this truck."
06:45 Bring it back and just dump the money on the hood.
06:48 And then we can go from there.
06:49 Bring me the money.
06:51 Then we can talk.
06:52 (truck beeping)
06:55 (tires screeching)
06:58 (truck beeping)
07:01 (truck beeping)
07:04 (truck beeping)
