00:00 Who am I supposed to look at?
00:02 Just paint around?
00:03 >> Just, just, just, it's fine.
00:05 >> All right, Zach, made it through your second start here as a horned frog.
00:10 Talk to me about how big it was to get out of that first inning without a lot on
00:14 the run.
00:15 >> Yeah, obviously it's big.
00:16 I mean, you always want to start pretty well to get the motivation,
00:20 the momentum swing in the right dugout.
00:22 And I thought it was huge to get out of the first with the bases loaded.
00:26 >> What did that do for you in the second inning and
00:29 beyond just kind of to help you get into the rhythm of the game?
00:31 >> I'll just say it just calmed me down, really.
00:33 I mean, I didn't really have a lot of, I guess, adrenaline going.
00:36 I just tried to go out there with my best stuff and just attack the zone.
00:39 And I started out a little slow, and sometimes that happens.
00:43 But as a starter, you gotta go in there and
00:44 continue to pound the zone, make adjustments, and continue playing the game.
00:48 >> How much did the seven runs in the first inning help you kind of settle in
00:51 there in the second and third inning?
00:54 >> Well, it's always huge to get runs.
00:56 The more runs, the better, obviously.
00:58 But again, just as a pitcher, regardless of how many runs they score,
01:02 we gotta continue, I gotta continue pounding the zone, giving our guys a shot
01:07 to stay in the game and continue to trust our offense whenever we get back in
01:11 the dugout.
01:13 >> Is there any one at bat that kind of got you to settle in in that second inning?
01:16 Or was it just based on your mentality that entire inning?
01:20 >> I wouldn't necessarily say it was a certain at bat.
01:23 I think it was just a mentality like, hey, I gotta figure out who I am.
01:26 Like, go be myself out there.
01:28 And it was shaky today, no doubt, but I continue to battle.
01:32 And I think battling and having that mindset is who I am as a pitcher, so.
01:37 >> What's the potential for this pitching staff?
01:40 >> I mean, it's through the roof.
01:41 We've got starters who are really good.
01:45 We got a bullpen who's really good as well.
01:47 I mean, just collectively, I think everybody can play a huge role on this team.
01:51 So I think we've got a really good chance to be one of the best staffs in
01:54 the country, so.
01:55 >> A bunch of games coming up, obviously, in the next week.
01:59 Do you guys talk about that, or is it just about routine?
02:02 I mean, it's a lot.
02:04 >> Yeah, no doubt.
02:05 We got five games in the next six days, I think.
02:08 And we just take it one game at a time, one pitch, one inning at a time.
02:13 Whenever we get to the next game, we'll worry about that whenever the day comes.
02:16 But in terms of, I guess, attacking the week, we just take it one game at a time.
02:21 Thank you.
