The Cost to Become a US Citizen , Is Increasing.
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), fees
associated with gaining American citizenship
will increase on April 1, 'The Hill' reports.
USCIS conducted a comprehensive biennial fee
review and determined that current fees do
not recover the full cost of providing
adjudication and naturalization services, Department of Homeland Security, via announcement.

Submitting an Application for Naturalization
(N-400) will be $725, up from $640.
If biometric work is required,
the price will be $760.
The overall price for submitting the
"green card" packet, which includes everything required for legal permanent status, will increase from $1,760 to $3,005.
The USCIS' new guidelines also
expand eligibility for lower rates.
The cost of the N-400 form will only rise from
$320 to $380 for those who earn "below 400% of
the federal poverty guideline," 'The Hill' reports. .
In 2023, the USCIS says that it
welcomed over 878,500 new citizens
