00:00 This 100 peso increase on the minimum wage is good for the people but it is not enough.
00:09 And in any wage increase, we know that it will be an additional cost for businesses.
00:16 Especially in the Philippines, about 98% of our industry are run by micro, small, medium enterprises.
00:28 I think PSA released this data in 2023.
00:31 And if the small enterprises will get additional cost to increase their salary to their employees,
00:44 then this is where I hope that the Senate and Congress will agree and we will do our job with regard to the economic provisions.
01:01 These losses that will be taken by small enterprises and small businesses, if there is an investment from foreigners,
01:13 they will be able to pay it and these enterprises will be able to help to increase their salary,
01:21 so that hopefully, there will be more jobs and our businesses will be more sustainable,
01:28 which is what we want, so that the economy of the Philippines and the livelihood of our people as a whole will be better.
01:36 Thank you.
