AT 190lbs, Angela Crickmore was living a life she did not want. Growing up, Angela, from Brazil, was always a very active child but when she moved to the UK, she began eating unhealthy food and noticed her body started to change. At 23 years old, Angela got married, sadly fell into a robotic lifestyle and did not pay attention to her body. This led to Angela receiving unpleasant comments. Angela told Truly: “When someone asked me if I was pregnant, that quite shocked me. Like wow, do I look eight months pregnant?” Angela was craving a more active and healthier lifestyle so after her first marriage ended, she saw this as an ideal opportunity to turn her life around. “After two weeks, I saw that I was already losing a few pounds, and that gave me the motivation and the courage to carry on losing more.” Angela has successfully lost a total of 84lbs and is now a personal trainer and digital influencer, helping others on a road to transformation...

00:00 I weighed 190 pounds and I wasn't living the life that I wanted.
00:05 I felt that actually I have more pressure from women.
00:09 They asked me if I was pregnant.
00:11 I have such a pretty face, why I was that big.
00:14 So I knew that my diet has to change.
00:17 So it took me about eight months.
00:19 Now I am 118 pounds.
00:22 Today for my squat challenge.
00:26 And before I did 100 squats in three minutes.
00:31 And today I have to beat that.
00:33 So I've always been this lean frame girl.
00:39 I was like that until about my 20 years old.
00:44 I moved to the UK and then I started to eat very unhealthy food.
00:48 And then my body started to change the shape.
00:51 And I started getting big and fat everywhere.
00:55 And I put all that weight on.
00:58 I felt that actually I have more pressure from women.
01:02 They asked me if I was pregnant.
01:04 I have such a pretty face, why I was that big.
01:07 And the more they asked, the more I don't want to look like a pregnant woman anymore.
01:12 We are what we eat.
01:20 So I knew that my diet has to change completely.
01:23 Because I used to eat a lot of takeaways.
01:26 And a lot of pasta, bread, sweets.
01:31 Now I eat more oats, bananas, fruits.
01:35 It took me about eight months to lose all the weight that I have lost.
01:40 That took me about a few years to get the oats on.
01:44 And create some muscles to replace the saggy skin.
01:48 The whole process probably has been about ten years now.
01:53 I was married at the time.
01:56 That whole process happened.
01:59 So when my husband met me, I wasn't big.
02:03 And when I lost all the weight, we split up because of that.
02:08 Because he said I changed and I wasn't the person that he really met.
02:12 I can get very emotional.
02:14 Because it was hard, you know.
02:16 I didn't change because it was a bad way to be a bad person.
02:23 I just wanted more in life.
02:26 He said, "Okay, this is not the person that I married."
02:29 And I said, "It's true."
02:30 That's why I say now, at 40, it's the best time of my life.
02:35 Because I know exactly who I am and I'm not afraid to be the way I am.
02:39 So I started to notice people looking at me and noticing me differently.
02:44 That happened at the gym.
02:46 When the boys started to look at how I was working out.
02:50 Today, for my squat challenge.
02:53 And before, I did 100 squats in three minutes.
02:57 And today, I have to beat that.
03:12 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 97, 98, 99, 10.
03:28 I did only two minutes and a half.
03:31 Yay! Well done to me.
03:34 I love weight lifting.
03:37 That's my favorite.
03:38 And anything to do with lower body.
03:41 So any workout for the booty, squat, deadlift, lunges.
03:47 My results say everything.
03:50 I am respected now, definitely.
03:53 Not just because of the body I have, but because of all the commitment that I had.
03:58 The discipline.
03:59 And so everyone can have that.
04:01 We should never be valued by the look that we have.
04:06 It doesn't matter what other people say.
04:08 So if you want to change, you have to do something about it.
04:11 It doesn't need to be big, it doesn't need to be major.
04:14 But you have to take one step.
04:17 You have to make yourself happy.
04:20 you
04:22 you
04:24 you
