00:00 Here in Victory Lane with its official your 2024 Daytona 500 champion William Byron
00:05 This is the only race in our sport that you get to be called a champion. How does it feel? It's pretty awesome
00:12 It's uh, it's incredible to look at this ring and know what it means and just yeah, it's uh, it's pretty awesome
00:18 I I don't even know like how to describe it right now. It's just it's just setting in
00:23 there's so much chaos and so many things that have to go right for it to work out and
00:28 Just got a great race team behind me and we've worked hard on on being better at speedways and we haven't finished a 500 even
00:35 the top 20 so it just is uh, it's all had to come together, but just really proud of this group and
00:40 It was kind of a blur at the end
00:42 Honestly at one point it was pushing between you and Brad Kozlowski and Alex Bowman
00:47 And then it ended up being Austin Sendrick in the number two who gave you a great push on that last restart
00:52 What'd you feel in those last couple of laps? Yeah, he just um
00:55 he pushed me really square and we were able to get out front and
00:58 honestly kind of control the race and at that point it was just
01:02 man, what's gonna come from behind and what kind of momentum is gonna
01:05 Reform and the one car came with a huge run giving them the try over there
01:09 I blocked it then he tried to go left and and it was chaos at that point, but uh pretty pretty amazing
01:15 It's gonna take a while to set in but like you said Daytona 500 champion. That sounds pretty damn good. Finally
01:20 What is the celebration? What's it like tonight?
01:23 We're gonna go pretty hard, but I think I have to get on a flight to uh to New York
01:27 So maybe I just won't sleep at all. We'll see. Congratulations, champ. Thank you. Appreciate it
