Recently released safety Eddie Jackson already may be a top target for the Pittsburgh Steelers to start at safety next to Minkah Fitzpatrick.

00:00 I think the Steelers need a proven veteran.
00:03 I don't think they should be messing around with, you know what I mean, like another KZ
00:06 or Keanu Neal, like shoot for the stars a little bit.
00:08 I think Eddie Jackson's going to be affordable, which plays a big role here.
00:13 Like you're 30 years old, you're coming off of two 12-game seasons, so you weren't able
00:18 to finish the year.
00:19 You're already getting paid, I think it was $5 million, $5.5 million this year just from
00:24 the Chicago Bears after being released.
00:27 So you already have a signing bonus there.
00:29 Go get another one from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
00:31 Go, I don't know, like just sign somewhere that you think you could win.
00:36 If that's the philosophy, the Pittsburgh Steelers are certainly that team.
00:40 I think that would be huge.
00:42 When it comes to pairing up with Minkah Fitzpatrick, I mean, that's what the Steelers need.
00:47 They've been missing that other guy that, you know, we talked about it earlier in the
00:51 year this year, Kevin Byard out of the Tennessee Titans.
00:55 Go get him.
00:56 Why?
00:57 Because he's a game changer at safety.
00:58 He's a dude who could turn the ball over.
01:00 He's a dude who could take a lot of pressure off of Minkah Fitzpatrick.
01:03 I think that's what the Steelers are looking for.
01:05 Eddie Jackson would be awesome.
01:08 There's no questions there.
01:09 And I also don't think, and maybe I'm alone here, but I don't think that safety is high
01:14 enough on the Steelers draft priority list, nor do I think that safety position is loaded
01:22 enough to make it a priority, where I think free agency is the way to go.
01:26 And if you're going to, like, this is an opportunity to not spend a boatload of money, but also
01:31 get somebody who raises that bar.
