00:00 >> From here on up we're good.
00:03 Obey my commands and protect yourself at all times.
00:06 Touch gloves, come on, fight and get the bell.
00:08 >> Alright, Charlie Fitch getting things out of the way by saying this is the line where
00:13 a punch would be considered a low blow.
00:16 More referees need to do that, as we've seen in the past.
00:19 And Tim, you don't need to know what it means to a Fasio Falcón to be a Puerto Rican from
00:26 the Bronx fighting an MSG against a Mexican fighter.
00:30 >> Oh, yeah.
00:31 You already know he's got war on his mind.
00:35 >> Both fighters trained by their fathers, O Fasio Falcón Sr. and Pablo Ceballos trains
00:41 Edward who is the current Arizona State junior lightweight champion coming in as a south
00:47 paw with the pink trunks trimmed in gold.
00:50 >> Ceballos, a south paw.
00:53 You can see he's very calculated, right there lunging forward a bit.
00:58 I'm sure Falcón took a picture.
01:01 Falcón's very schooled as well.
01:04 Good amateur background.
01:05 You know, you hear he's a crowd favorite, but he likes to take his time.
01:10 He's a sweet boxer, likes to fight off his back for a good counter puncher, likes to
01:14 take his time.
01:16 >> Working behind that jab, trying to set up that overhand right is O Fasio Falcón.
01:25 Makes Ceballos do the work and come to him.
01:27 >> So right there, what you're seeing right now is a fencing battle with the lead hands
01:32 of both fighters.
01:33 That's south paw versus orthodox.
01:34 You get that all the time.
01:36 Good exit route right there.
01:38 We saw a lot of that last week with Lopez and Ortiz.
01:45 We really didn't see much of anything.
01:46 >> I'm just saying that exit right there, exit right, getting out of the way.
01:52 Big looping shot coming from Lopez.
01:54 Ortiz just getting underneath it and going out the side door.
01:58 You saw it right here.
01:59 >> Except it was the opposite guard.
02:01 It was Lopez as the orthodox and Jermaine Ortiz as the south paw.
02:06 Nice body work there from Ceballos.
02:10 >> Right now it's a tactical battle.
02:12 Southpaw is trying to gauge speed, distance.
02:17 You feel the power of your opponent as well.
02:20 You know what you can do and what you possibly can get away with.
02:25 Maybe take some chances.
02:29 >> Nice right from Ceballos and a left from Falcón.
02:33 >> Again perfect foot positioning.
02:34 Getting his lead foot outside the lead foot of Ceballos to land his right hand.
02:47 >> Falcón trying to step in with that overhand right.
02:55 >> Yeah he was looking for it.
02:56 Instead of shooting the right hand down the middle.
02:59 Southpaw is not used to the looping right hand coming around the guard.
03:06 >> Right hand over the top.
03:08 Now referee Charlie Fitch with a first warning.
03:13 >> Falcón right there just getting busy on the inside.
03:15 I like that from a young fighter.
03:16 A lot of young fighters they get on the inside and they don't know what to do.
03:19 I like the fact that he's getting physical.
03:22 Got one hand free, go ahead and use it.
03:24 >> Nice straight right to punctuate a good start for Paco Falcón.
03:28 >> Here is Father Senior with the instructions.
03:29 >> You see how your flow is?
03:30 That's what we need.
03:31 You got to get a little more busy too.
03:32 This is an iffy round.
03:33 I get it.
03:34 It's an iffy round with that little kind of thing that's stupid on you.
03:35 I get it.
03:36 Let's go to work.
03:37 You got to get more busy.
03:38 You got to stay more crazy.
03:39 You got to stay more on them.
03:40 You understand?
03:41 Stay around them.
03:42 Stay around them.
03:43 Keep picking them.
03:44 Let's go to work.
03:45 This is what it is.
03:46 This is what we hear.
03:47 You understand?
03:48 Let's go to work.
03:49 You hear me right?
03:50 Got to go to work.
03:51 >> He's got a lot of energy.
03:52 >> He's got a lot of energy.
03:53 You understand?
03:54 Let's go to work.
03:55 You hear me right?
03:56 Got to go to work.
03:57 Got to get a little more busy.
03:58 That's waiting.
03:59 You hear me?
04:00 See this is what I like right here.
04:01 On the inside you know you got one hand free.
04:02 You see him slipping it out.
04:03 Nice little shot on the ground.
04:04 Around the guard right there and then boom.
04:05 Right on the side of the head.
04:06 You know you're told that if you got one hand free.
04:07 And beholden.
04:08 However, you got one hand free you need to use it.
04:09 You know that keeps your fighter honest.
04:10 That keeps him on his toes.
04:11 And also you got to be a little more honest.
04:12 You got to be a little more honest.
04:13 You got to be a little more honest.
04:14 You got to be a little more honest.
04:15 You got to be a little more honest.
04:16 You got to be a little more honest.
04:17 You got to be a little more honest.
04:18 You got to be a little more honest.
04:19 You got to be a little more honest.
04:20 You got to be a little more honest.
04:21 You got to be a little more honest.
04:22 You got to be a little more honest.
04:23 You got to be a little more honest.
04:24 You got to be a little more honest.
04:25 You got to be a little more honest.
04:26 You got to be a little more honest.
04:27 You got to be a little more honest.
04:28 You got to be a little more honest.
04:29 You got to be a little more honest.
04:30 You got to be a little more honest.
04:31 You got to be a little more honest.
04:32 You got to be a little more honest.
04:33 You got to be a little more honest.
04:34 You got to be a little more honest.
04:36 He's trained by his father.
04:37 And you saw on the back of the shirt the name Underdog Boxing and Fitness Club in the Bronx.
04:41 Well, it's family owned.
04:43 So, the sniper, when he's not doing this at the Theater of Madison Square Garden,
04:48 is also teaching classes in between his training sessions to young men and women.
04:53 Yeah, he's not going to be doing that that long.
04:56 You know, a young man is skillful.
04:58 He's got some skills.
04:59 He do. I like what I see so far against the Southpaws.
05:02 Southpaws are usually difficult to handle, man.
05:04 If you have a great training camp, you're able to deal with those angles that the Southpaw is used to.
05:10 And right now, the quickness and footwork and positioning is great from Falcone.
05:16 That's why he's edging these rounds at the moment.
05:19 Nice feint and sets up an overhand right and Ceballos goes to the body.
05:24 I like Ceballos. I like his idea.
05:26 What he's doing is he's trying to counter the counter.
05:28 So, he's looking for the body.
05:30 He's looking to slow down the young.
05:34 The young Falcone.
05:36 If he was Brazilian, it would be Falcão.
05:42 Yeah, I was about to say Falcão, but I said Falcone.
05:45 So, you caught me.
05:47 Good footwork there from Falcão.
05:51 See how he got out of range? Let those punches miss.
05:55 But there you see Ceballos landing a heavy left.
06:01 Ceballos is trying to counter the counter.
06:03 That's his game right now. Counter the counter.
06:05 But he needs to get something started off the front hand first.
06:10 He can't get away from Falcão's jab though.
06:14 That's his biggest issue so far.
06:16 The quickness and the accuracy of Fácil Falcão.
06:20 But how you beat a jab? You beat a jab by using your jab.
06:22 You know, you gotta get busy.
06:24 I mean, it doesn't have a straight punching lane, but you gotta try to create one.
06:28 That lead hand battle is extremely important.
06:31 Just as important as getting your foot placed on the outside of the opponent.
06:35 And there you see, hand three, he's using it.
06:38 Falcão is very good at that inside work.
06:41 Not letting his opponent rest.
06:43 But Ceballos did the same exact thing.
06:45 So he knows now that he can't get comfortable inside that pocket.
06:49 So, Ceballos is trying to beat him to that.
06:54 [crowd noise]
06:57 Falcão's got Ceballos biting on that feint too.
07:14 But Ceballos has been very patient.
07:17 I mean, he knows he's in there with a really good counter puncher.
07:20 So, he's trying to take his fight. Oh, nice right hand.
07:23 [bell rings]
07:24 Beautiful right hand.
07:25 Coming in and then he punctuates an excellent second round with the right.
07:29 The father of O Fácio Falcão is extremely happy with how he finished this round.
07:39 Look at his right hand. Beautiful. Perfect timing.
07:42 Right as the jab was coming out, he stepped in the mid-range.
07:45 He met him with a right hand. See, he got his head placed outside of that jab hand.
07:49 That's the reason why he was able to land that shot.
07:51 But perfectly timed right hand. Double impact.
07:54 You saw the reaction. A little bit unbalanced, but I would say he was buzzed also.
07:59 [whistle blows]
08:14 Get that jab. Put that pressure. You hear me?
08:16 I got it.
08:18 Work that jab and get that pressure.
08:21 You hear the young kid trying to calm his father down here.
08:24 His father sees the openings. He wants him to finish it.
08:27 But the kid is smart. He's saying, "Don't rush the action, dad. Don't rush it."
08:32 I see it. Let me take my time a little bit.
08:35 Because you know, he's in there feeling the resistance. He's feeling the power.
08:42 And he's feeling what's effective for him. And he don't want to risk too much.
08:45 He can't miss with the right hand. I mean, come on.
08:48 So Bayos is at over 50% on his knockout.
08:52 Percentage 6 out of 11. So you see that he's got a heavy left hand.
08:56 And Falcón does not want to create an opening for it.
08:59 No, he doesn't.
09:00 And the speed. The speed is the difference here.
09:04 You know, one guy is able to get off quickly. The other one, he's stuck.
09:09 He's stuck. He's like, "Man, I'm almost in neutral."
09:12 And that despite the one-inch reach advantage, Tim.
09:16 It's the speed of Falcón's jab over the length of Sobayo's arm.
09:20 It's speed and foot placement and timing.
09:23 That straight right.
09:27 You shouldn't be getting hit with shots like that.
09:29 I mean, you being a southpaw, understanding the right hand is going to come.
09:32 You shouldn't be getting hit with straight shots like that.
09:34 Especially with clean right hands.
09:37 Falcón is just-- I mean, he's doing whatever he wants, when he wants to do.
09:41 Sobayo's got to step on the gas.
09:48 He needs to do something. I mean, the fight right now is not in his favor.
09:52 Getting-- staying on the outside like this, he's going to get picked apart.
09:56 And he needs to start with the lead hand.
09:59 He needs to get the lead hand going.
10:01 Occupy.
10:03 Occupy that space in between him and Falcón.
10:07 Ooh, that's a nice short left hook from Falcón.
10:11 Who's switching his offense up very well here, Tim.
10:14 There's nothing predictable about how he's punishing Sobayo.
10:17 He's well-schooled. He's well-schooled. He really is.
10:20 And I like his discipline.
10:22 His poise. When his father was asking for more, he's still doing what he feels is right.
10:29 Yeah. I mean, you as a fighter, that's what you're supposed to do.
10:32 I mean, going back to the fight last week, Ortiz, you know what you can do.
10:40 You know what you could've done.
10:42 You know, you stuck with the game plan, but yeah, I'm sure that you look back at it and say,
10:46 "Man, I should've stepped on the gas."
10:48 There's an art to learning how to win.
10:51 You gotta know how to win.
10:53 Some guys have it, some guys don't.
10:55 You know, in our fighter meeting, that came up--
10:57 It's true.
10:58 --you know, several times because we--
11:01 It was Abraham Nova who sparred Jermaine Ortiz for the Teofimo Lopez fight.
11:06 He's been in with Teofimo Lopez as a sparring partner as well, and he says,
11:09 "Look, it's one thing to have the skill to win, but it's also a skill to know how to win."
11:15 Absolutely.
11:16 And it wouldn't have taken much more from Jermaine to come away with the clear victory last time out.
11:23 So we're three rounds in the books here, and it all leads us to our main event.
11:27 Featuring O'Shaughney Foster, who had a banner year in 2023.
11:33 He won the world title against Ray Vargas in San Antonio, Texas,
11:38 and then in dramatic fashion in the 12th round, stopped Eduardo Hernandez in Cancun
11:43 when he was down on the cards.
11:45 Tonight, he makes the second defense of his junior lightweight title,
11:50 and he comes from Orange, Texas, the easternmost city in Texas,
11:55 just next to Louisiana, next to your relatives, Tim.
11:58 Population under 20,000.
12:01 Bob and Wade Phillips are from there. Bubba Smith, the Hall of Famer.
12:05 Kevin Smith, the three-time Super Bowl champion.
12:08 And he said, "Earl Thomas, I spent some time with him at his house during the COVID pandemic."
12:16 And he said, "During that shutdown, I saw what it was like to have a Maserati,
12:20 a Lamborghini parked in the front."
12:22 He said, "But more than anything, it was the winning mindset that I took away from that experience."
12:28 You know, it's funny you said that. I remember him saying that during our fighting meeting.
12:31 And I can think back, me being a kid, and I used to play, "That's my car, that's my car."
12:37 But all those moments, you know, thinking back when I was a child,
12:41 like, I literally was looking ahead in my life.
12:45 And actually traveling, and seeing, and speaking with people with money.
12:51 They all said the same thing to me.
12:53 You got to work hard, son. You continue to work hard in your boxing, guess what?
12:57 You can also have the finer things in life.
13:00 And now people ask Tim Bradley, "Tim, how'd you do it?"
13:04 I played, "That's my car."
13:09 And brought it to reality, man.
13:13 Oh, see some blood.
13:14 Blood, yeah, a little bloody nose.
13:18 Is it lip or nose?
13:20 It looks like it's a lip.
13:22 We'll see.
13:23 Either way, Ceballos saying, "Hey, we're in here to fight."
13:28 Well, Ceballos needs to step on the gas. He's waiting too long.
13:31 I mean, he's shooting one shot at a time, and he's so predictable.
13:34 He needs to be able to get off two, three, throw some combinations.
13:38 Yeah, and Alfonso Falcon controlled the range there very well,
13:41 because Ceballos was pulling a Tim Bradley, coming in with his head.
13:44 He pulled the matador, landed an uppercut.
13:47 He's doing a lot of great things for a fighter in his 11th professional fight,
13:52 Alfonso Falcon.
13:54 Extremely well--he's well-schooled. He really is.
13:59 I love his patience. I would love to see him get a little bit more on his jab.
14:05 But I love his patience. I love his variation with his punches, his combinations.
14:11 But he has really good eyes, and you can tell he has really good reflexes and good feet.
14:16 The way he's making Ceballos miss.
14:19 Last week we saw Sniper Pedraza, who's on the back end of his career.
14:23 This is what a young sniper looks like. It's having good eyes, having the accuracy, too.
14:28 He really lives up to the name "Sniper."
14:30 Yes, yes he does. Very sharp for a young fighter with this much experience.
14:45 Again, Ceballos is just looking for one shot.
14:48 And it's the same exact shot he's been looking for.
14:51 It's almost like a bolo left to the body. That's it. Nothing more.
14:56 I mean, as smart as a fighter of Falcon.
15:00 He's able to see that coming. He's able to anticipate things.
15:04 If you do the same thing over and over and over again.
15:08 What Ceballos needs to do is he needs to turn the tempo up.
15:12 Give him something to think about.
15:15 Let his hands go and see if that will help him get himself back into this fight.
15:19 A nice lead right there from Falcon to punctuate another.
15:23 Good shot. Ceballos finally catches him right to the center.
15:27 Yeah, he felt that.
15:29 [Ceballos' defense]
15:32 [Ceballos' defense]
15:36 [Ceballos' defense]
16:04 Ceballos seems to can't miss with those right hands.
16:07 You know, that's the conventional wisdom of boxing.
16:11 When you're facing the southpaw, foot placement is very important.
16:15 To be able to line up that backhand. That's your money punch.
16:19 And this shot right here at the end of the round.
16:22 This is the shot that Ceballos should have been looking for the entire fight so far.
16:30 It's the left hand right to the solar plex.
16:33 [Ceballos' defense]
16:36 Ceballos, a young man who as an amateur lost to Shakur Stevenson in the Olympic trials.
16:45 He also lost to Carlos Balderas a year before that.
16:49 So, elite amateur fighters.
16:52 And I think he's getting a little bit of confidence after being able to pin Falcon up against that corner at the end of round 4.
16:58 So, Ceballos, he found, I don't want to say a key, but he's understanding the patterns now of Falcon.
17:08 And that's why you see a little bit of frustration from Falcon.
17:13 He's lifting him up with the left uppercut right at the middle.
17:17 Because you see he'll fake up top and you'll see what happens.
17:20 Falcon will dip to his right and you got Ceballos that's actually looking for that left uppercut right at the middle.
17:26 See, there it is again. You see it?
17:28 Yes.
17:29 You see it? That's a pattern.
17:31 And that's sometimes what you need to figure out.
17:34 When I do this, what does he do?
17:36 And then you move to that. You try to force him to move to that area.
17:39 Or you can use a feint. That was dirty.
17:41 That was dirty. That was dirty.
17:44 That was so dirty.
17:47 You give your opponent a chance to get into a fight that maybe you are winning completely, Tim.
17:54 Yeah, you know, sometimes you do things like that.
17:59 You make a great move and it's like you want to take advantage of it.
18:04 So he just went ahead and let his hands go.
18:07 And I mean Ceballos has been in situations like this before.
18:10 He had a no contest in March of 2016 where he and Damon Simon both disobeyed the referee's instructions.
18:18 And so he disqualified both of them basically and turned it into a no contest in the first round.
18:22 There it is again.
18:24 Ceballos is very smart.
18:29 He found a tail.
18:32 Dipping to the right.
18:35 You have Falcone. Now Ceballos is looking for that left uppercut.
18:40 He's trying to meet him at that point.
18:50 But if he was disguised a little bit more, maybe drop some feints again using the jab,
18:55 varying his attack, he would be able to set him up and put him in that position to be able to land that left hand like he wants to.
19:02 Good round for Edward Ceballos here.
19:11 And he continued to build on that. Good defense there from Falcone.
19:17 Being considered one of the next great prospects in the sport can come with a lot of pressure.
19:22 And while that may be too much for some, for Shusha Carrington, he embraces it.
19:27 Everybody wanted me to be great in boxing.
19:33 I accepted the challenge and I understand that that's what comes with the game.
19:37 I don't shy away from stuff like that. I embrace it.
19:41 At the time I was 14 though, I wasn't confident in myself.
19:46 I didn't really see me going that far.
19:49 I didn't know if I would be able to handle that pressure.
19:54 But now you see a different switch every single time I fight.
20:00 When I'm inside that ring, it's a different animal.
20:06 You see the Bruce outside the ring, you're going to see Shusha inside the ring.
20:13 This is no success story without pain.
20:16 It feels easy, everybody will do it. Anybody can do what I do.
20:23 [BELL RINGS]
20:25 [ANNOUNCER]
20:27 Look at that nice watch. He knows what time it is.
20:42 [LAUGHS]
20:44 Checking out his watch, he's flexing right now.
20:46 Might have been a head clash, not sure.
20:50 Let's see what happens. Yeah, head clash.
20:52 You can see the left eye of Sabayo starting to swell a little bit.
20:58 The reason why that happens is both sides choose to attack at the same time.
21:02 You have the right hands that line up on the same side.
21:04 And guess what's on the same side? Your heads.
21:07 So when you throw that punch, that's what happens. Your head clash.
21:10 And your feet get tangled up also.
21:13 Nice slap from Sabayo.
21:15 And maybe here we look at, you know Tim, the instructions from Ofasio Falcon's father was to go get him.
21:21 He kind of let him hang in there and Sabayo is in the fight.
21:24 He feels that power. He does.
21:26 He feels that power and the experience of Sabayo right now is starting to come to fruition for him.
21:32 Experience.
21:34 And again, when the fighter knows when the other fighter has found his tail, he knows it.
21:45 He found his tail.
21:47 Ooh, nice counter right hand from Falcon.
21:49 And then he found that right hand.
21:51 Which has been his all night. Now a short left hook from Falcon as things start to heat up here in the final minute and 45 seconds of the 6th round.
21:58 Look at that sharp quickness in his skin.
22:00 Wow.
22:02 It's good work.
22:04 I mean he stopped Sabayo in his tracks as Sabayo was gaining that momentum.
22:09 It was like, let me catch you with this, remind you that you're up against speed, precision and power.
22:14 Yes.
22:16 Referee Charlie Fitz for those good kicks.
22:20 Did you see the footwork?
22:22 See but now it's the second and third punch that's working for Falcon.
22:30 I mean, excuse me, Falcon.
22:32 Falcone.
22:34 So he was throwing the right hand but now he's coming behind with the hook he's throwing in combination sequences now.
22:41 To take away just that left hand that Sabayo is trying to land.
22:47 You see the footwork trying to set up Sabayo to be flat footed and catch him as he's coming in but Sabayo knows how to cut off the ring.
22:55 But if you don't throw Tim, he's going to hug you and spin you.
23:00 Yeah, pretty much.
23:02 I'm sorry, I'm sorry for giving a little boogie, little Tim Bradley move.
23:05 No it isn't.
23:07 Come on, I seen you pull that.
23:09 Oh, nice right uppercut from Falcon.
23:11 Again.
23:13 Yep.
23:15 Found that mark.
23:17 Found that mark once again.
23:19 Found that tail.
23:27 Sabayo was reaching with that left and Falcon trying to make him pay.
23:32 Good finish to this fight.
23:45 Both gave it their all but it seems like Ofasio Falcon did enough to come away with the victory.
23:52 Tim, it was target practice early and then it got competitive.
23:57 Yeah, it definitely did.
23:59 I mean, Sabayo, tip your hat off to him.
24:01 He had a good strategy going on.
24:03 He made a slight adjustment.
24:05 He was looking for the bolo left down to the body and he turned it into an uppercut.
24:09 Found that pattern, that tail from the young man Falcon.
24:14 But Falcon was accurate.
24:16 Extremely accurate with his shots.
24:18 Right hands, left hooks.
24:19 That's what you want to see when you're facing the Southpaw.
24:21 Those particular punches landed for him in numbers.
24:26 In numbers.
24:27 Nice little step back right there, counter.
24:29 Catching Sabayo on the way in.
24:32 You know, young man is talented.
24:34 He has the gifts.
24:36 Speed.
24:38 Some pop on his shots.
24:39 Good timing.
24:41 But something's missing.
24:43 Something's missing.
24:44 I'm trying to put my finger on it.
24:46 I have yet.
24:47 I got to see him a little bit more, but something is missing from this young man.
24:53 He will move forward.
24:54 He will win a lot of fights because he definitely is talented.
24:57 But I don't know.
25:00 I'm thinking about world championship.
25:01 That's on my mind.
25:02 I'm just like the promoter.
25:03 Promoter's thinking about, will he be ready for the world championship?
25:07 And Tim, this is 140-pound weight class where the fighters are fast, they hit hard,
25:12 and they can take a shot as Edward Sabayo's proved.
25:17 I wonder if he has dog in him.
25:20 Because what happens if a guy can take his shots, is okay running red lights,
25:26 getting hit with those shots, has some punching power, and can stick to his chest?
25:30 What happens then?
25:32 Can he fight that type of fight?
25:34 Can he find a way to win during those circumstances?
25:37 So I think that's what's missing.
25:39 It's the temperament. What if I told you he might be better off at 135 as a 5'7" fighter.
25:45 All right.
25:46 The man who stands a little taller than 5'7" is Mark Chinook with the decision.
25:51 Ladies and gentlemen, after six rounds here inside the theater at Madison Square Garden,
25:55 we go to the judges' scorecards for the official decision.
26:00 Max DeLuca, Frank Lombardi, and John McKay all scored exactly the same, 60-54,
26:07 for your winner by unanimous decision,
26:12 Ofasio "The Sniper" Falcón.
26:18 The Sniper, Ofasio Falcón, improves to 11-0,
26:23 and he does it in front of a pro New York crowd right here.
26:27 So making the Bronx proud is Ofasio Falcón.
26:31 Now last week, it was another--
