00:00 Summer's by far from over at the moment and what our message to boaters is to make sure
00:05 that they don't get complacent, that they keep safety front of mind, that they make
00:09 the right decisions before they go boating on the state's waterways.
00:12 It's really important before you set out for your day's trip, waterways are great places
00:16 to be but it's important that you check your conditions, you check your equipment not once
00:21 but twice, just make sure that you've got everything that you need and that you're keeping
00:24 safety front of mind, it's so important.
00:28 It's important that you continually check the weather, check it before you leave, continually
00:31 check it when you're out there.
00:33 What we've seen over recent weeks and months is just unstable weather conditions, it may
00:37 be good at one point of the day but it suddenly changes so that's why it's important that
00:41 you check the conditions.
00:42 It's whether you're boating, whether you're rock fishing, any time you're around that
00:46 coastal environment it's just really important that you continually check the weather.
00:49 We're fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers as part of Marine Rescue NSW, our
00:53 volunteers are professionally trained, they're assessed to the highest standard and that
00:58 training is just a continuation year in year out to make sure that our volunteers are trained
01:03 to the highest standard.
01:04 When that phone rings we've got those professional personnel to go out and undertake our rescue
01:08 work.
