00:00:00 And we are back with another edition of Talkin' Cs with Bobby Kravinsky of SI Media Group.
00:00:13 Bobby, how are you doing today?
00:00:15 Doing fantastic. Had some successful prop bets with Super Bowl Sunday. So, you know,
00:00:20 it wasn't the outcome that Patriots fans wanted to see, but Mahomes is undeniable. So shout
00:00:25 out to him and the Chiefs.
00:00:27 I hate the Patriots fans and I hate betting.
00:00:30 It was tough. They get annoyed real fast.
00:00:34 Did you say you hate me? Is that what I heard?
00:00:37 No, I said a different night betting than you had.
00:00:40 Oh, my apologies.
00:00:41 No, no, I would never say such a thing.
00:00:43 So I didn't really care who won, to be perfectly honest. I leaned on the side of don't want
00:00:49 Pat Mahomes to catch Brady because my dad explained that logic to me. I was like, yeah,
00:00:52 I guess that makes sense. But the Niners are also a favorite and I like rooting for the
00:00:55 underdogs. I'm like, whatever. But all my buddies bet the Niners. I said, you know what?
00:01:03 I'll ride with y'all. And I bet a lot of money on the Niners. It didn't go through.
00:01:07 So it was a bad night.
00:01:10 Never trust Kyle Shanahan and never trust Brock Purdy.
00:01:13 Evidently so. It was bad. I did. The highlight of my night, however, was on like one of the
00:01:19 plays. I just kept betting Pat Mahomes to get sacked. It was in the first half when
00:01:22 they just kept sacking him.
00:01:23 I was like, you're betting. Yeah, that's right. Anyways, we can get into actual Celtics
00:01:30 talk and we'll start with what Timo is already talking about in the chat because it is the
00:01:33 title of this live stream. We are live, by the way, in case you're wondering, it's on
00:01:37 the YouTube channel later as well. But if you caught the live.
00:01:40 Hello. Welcome in. Hello, Timo. Jalen Brown's play against Duncan Robinson. I can pull up
00:01:45 the video. Actually, that would probably be smart. I should have had that.
00:01:50 If you watch the Celtics heat game, you might have seen Jalen Brown versus Duncan Robinson
00:01:54 in a WWE match on the sideline. Duncan Robinson had his arm entangled with Jalen Brown and
00:02:02 a foul was called on Duncan Robinson. And then Jalen Brown flung him into the stance.
00:02:07 And if you're saying, well, don't say it like that. I don't know how else I'm supposed to
00:02:10 say it because that's what happened. This is the play. You can see it on the screen
00:02:14 here. Jalen flung him with his arm caught under him into the stands. And yeah, a lot
00:02:24 of there's been a lot of discourse on Twitter. Was this a dirty play? Did he intentionally
00:02:30 try to injure Duncan Robinson? All this stuff. Hello, hero. And we can talk about that as
00:02:36 well as in comparison to the KP versus Bam in a bio thing.
00:02:41 I'll let Bobby start it off, but the chat clearly thinks it wasn't a pretty play, which
00:02:46 go ahead. So I think that it is a dirty play, all lowercase letters where he was pissed
00:02:58 and you understand the frustration and then you can see your phrase it however you want.
00:03:03 Forcefully dislodged his arm, put it however you want. The way that he did that with the
00:03:09 turn. Like, yeah, like that's a that's a dirty play right there. It's not the worst act ever
00:03:16 by any means or anything overly serious, but it wasn't like it wasn't clean. Put it that
00:03:24 way. I don't know how you could argue that. And so also you understand. And I think a
00:03:29 factor built into it is the well-deserved reputation of the Miami Heat.
00:03:34 I don't think it was just that one singular play. Geyser draped on your arm all the time.
00:03:40 But when it's Miami, I mean, look, even within this game, Bam at a bio got a nice handful
00:03:45 of Christoph's Porzingis's nether regions. And when they went to Miami the last time,
00:03:50 a play that doesn't get talked about is when Jason Tatum went up for a layup in the first
00:03:54 half on the fast break and Caleb Martin lightly had his hands on Tatum's back.
00:03:59 Dirty play. We all know I had people tweeting me up a storm about specifically what happened
00:04:04 with Rondo and Dwayne Wade in the playoffs a while back. And so the Miami Heat, I mean,
00:04:10 Kyle Lowry did some shady things last year in the playoffs. And so this is a team that
00:04:16 is very physical, that likes to muck up the game and throw you off kilter and does things
00:04:22 that will cross the line.
00:04:24 And so when you're going up against a team like that and you have a situation like the
00:04:28 one between Jalen Brown and Duncan Robinson, you're going to respond. And so what I loved
00:04:32 more than anything is both Jalen Brown and Christoph's Porzingis post game talking about
00:04:38 the situation and Jalen Brown saying you need to protect yourself and stand your ground
00:04:43 and own your space. And Christoph's Porzingis saying, look, we need to play with a fire
00:04:47 in those moments, but we also have to stay poised because that's their game.
00:04:52 They need to do stuff like that and get us to react, to take away from our focus. And
00:04:57 he didn't say this part, but the reason for it is the Celtics are more talented than Miami.
00:05:01 And so you always have to keep that in mind in the heat of those moments, no pun intended.
00:05:07 Keep the pun and one and one on Bobby's take with the pun. I like that. In terms of was
00:05:13 it dirty, Bobby, according to our title says no, because we do have capitals in the title.
00:05:19 You said all lowercase on the dirty play. Do I think it was a dirty play? I kind of
00:05:26 agree with Bobby where it's a dirty sequence. It's a dirty play, but I don't think Jalen's
00:05:30 out there actively looking to hurt people. It was a heat of the moment. Please get off
00:05:34 of me without the please. And it looked real bad on camera and it looked bad in the press
00:05:42 conference when he was like, hey, he won't do it again. Now, Willie, in terms of the
00:05:49 crying now, this is the most important part of all of this power rankings of who should
00:05:57 be able to cry about this, this game in general, we'll say, okay.
00:06:00 Cause there was controversy with the bam thing to Duncan Robinson, his heat teammates, heat
00:06:08 fans, Celtics fans way down here. Like just no crying aloud from the fan base today. People
00:06:16 are getting really, really upset about Jalen even being on like this, like microscope today.
00:06:23 People are like, was it a dirty play? Shouldn't even be talked about as dirty play. Jay, uh,
00:06:27 not Jalen Oliver Fox of Celtics blog wrote up a whole breakdown of the thing. And he
00:06:32 was really not happy with how it went with Jalen yesterday in people in the comments
00:06:38 were going at him hard. So the fan base in general is very pro this play on Reddit, the
00:06:45 clip of it or not the clip.
00:06:47 I'm sorry. The quote from him after the game had a ton of upvotes. Everybody's like, yeah,
00:06:52 like good for him. But like if the roles were reversed, everybody would be crying about
00:06:57 this forever. Duncan Robinson would forever be a dirty player for the next two weeks.
00:07:03 All we would hear about is how is Jalen the same after Duncan Robinson did a little arm
00:07:08 drag on him. Like this fan base is crazy. You know how I know that is because Porzingis
00:07:14 got sack tapped yesterday and all people have done is cry about it. The clip of a bam, the,
00:07:20 the alternate angle, him driving came from Nate on Twitter and it has like 430,000 views
00:07:27 and everybody's talking about it. What'd you say? I said, I tweeted it too. His was higher
00:07:33 quality. I don't know what to tell you. All right, buddy. Um, my thing is I think multiple
00:07:38 things can be true. I think the heat can play in the gray area of dirty all the time. I
00:07:43 think Duncan Robinson can be trying to get under Jalen Brown's skin by putting his arm
00:07:47 in there and getting around him. And I think JB can fight fire with fire and do a dirty
00:07:52 play and fling him into the stands. Like it was, it was objectively a dirty play. Like
00:07:56 Sam said, if that was, yeah, exactly. But that doesn't take away from the fact that
00:08:01 it was a dirty play. He did. I don't think he intended to hurt Duncan Robinson. This
00:08:04 wasn't Draymond punching Jordan pools. Wasn't Draymond kicking Steven Adams in the nuts.
00:08:08 He is like trying to hurt somebody when he does that. I don't think Jalen was trying
00:08:11 to hurt him. I think he was trying to get him off him, but he knew what he was doing.
00:08:15 He knew where his arm was. He knew what he was going to, what it was going to happen.
00:08:18 It was just, there was a lot of adrenaline going on. So I think if that was Jimmy Butler
00:08:23 fleeing Jason Tatum riots in the streets, everyone would be so angry. Everyone would
00:08:29 be like beyond mad forever and ever and ever. They'd want, why is he not getting suspended?
00:08:33 Yeah, exactly. They'd want fines. They'd want everything. Duncan also flopped Timo. He got
00:08:39 fired up and stands. Maybe he did, but he still got his arm bent backwards into the
00:08:43 stands by a guy who was less be honest here in that situation, stronger than the, in that
00:08:49 situation and the strength difference, definitely a factor in that situation.
00:08:53 You are legitimately worried about your shoulder. You can say, Oh, stop it. That's so dramatic
00:08:58 and whatever. But when you get tangled up like that and it gets torn in a direction
00:09:02 that it's not supposed to go in there, even if it doesn't really hurt afterwards, there's
00:09:08 a shock in the moment that you're kind of worried for a split second about your shoulder.
00:09:13 Yeah. It's like people knowing how to fall and all that stuff. Like, and bead talking
00:09:19 about like he hits the ground a lot. Cause it's less pressure on your body. That kind
00:09:23 of thing could go through Duncan Robinson's head. So he's like, maybe I'll just go down
00:09:27 and go with it instead of putting up extra force to resist it. And then my muscles or
00:09:30 ligaments or whatever get overworked and get injured. The final point I wanted to make
00:09:36 in this, and I forgot about it the first go around. This is not Marcus smart diving for
00:09:41 a loose ball and clipping Steph Curry. And then Steve Kerr going up and crying about
00:09:45 it. Cause he cries about everything. This is a deliberate action that was not a basketball
00:09:51 move or had anything to do with the basketball game that was done, could have injured somebody
00:09:59 and the heat players would complain about it as any team would complain about it.
00:10:04 It's just how it would go. Yeah. Do I hate what Jalen said after the game? Not really
00:10:10 kind of think it's funny. Like he, he kind of like had fun with it. I will say though
00:10:16 him saying he won't do it again. It's basically him admitting, yeah, it was a dirty play.
00:10:19 Yeah. Yeah, exactly. But like, nobody's talking about the first part of that, which was maybe
00:10:24 if he actually played defense, that wouldn't even happen. Like if you just learned how
00:10:28 to play defense buddy, you wouldn't have to get flung across the room. Just play defense
00:10:33 for real physical. They're always on you. They swipe and they look to hit your hand
00:10:40 and the ball. I mean, this is how they play. They push the envelope and they're not going
00:10:45 to hesitate to go over it at times. Also, I'll also get to say this, and this isn't
00:10:52 directed at UTMO. I'm just using your, your quotes as like an example, him playing handsy
00:10:57 defense and saying, I went to that again is very ironic after the bam, the defense Jalen
00:11:01 played on bam because he was slapping the crap out of him.
00:11:04 Let's be honest here. That is the most ironic thing I've ever seen. Exactly. So it is a
00:11:10 little ironic there too. But everyone is comparing this to, well, why isn't anybody talking about
00:11:15 bam at a bio on Christoph's for Zynga? So I pulled up that angle as well. Excuse me,
00:11:19 angle from the top of the key here. Jalen drives on Christoph's Christoph's clearly
00:11:24 fouls him. So, and then everyone's talking about this. That's my friendlies. My thing
00:11:30 is I think initially bam was just trying to get his hand back up to the ball.
00:11:34 Like he's doing the like off arm thing and then a swing up. It just Christoph's files
00:11:38 him and gets it to him. And I saw a lot of people getting mad. Where do you see the foul
00:11:41 on Christoph's? I mean, he cuts off his drive and bumps that that's a foul. And he, his
00:11:45 leg like bam was going up or was going to go up into that place. If he was there or
00:11:51 not, did he give him a little extra? Absolutely. He gave him the old scoop. He's like, we're
00:11:55 in an ice cream parlor here, but I don't think he was going into that place saying,
00:11:59 oh, I'm going to hit KP in the nuts here. So I think it is different because this is
00:12:04 a, in the flow of the game basketball, I don't think he went into this with the intent, the
00:12:09 arm. Then there's an effort to bring it up at the end. That's, that's the right. Yeah,
00:12:15 no, no, no. He gave me a little extra. He absolutely gave it a little extra, but I think
00:12:18 the difference between this play in the jail and play was he didn't go into this place
00:12:21 saying, oh, I'm going to hurt him in the nuts.
00:12:22 I think he, he definitely pushed that gray area a little bit when he gave him the little
00:12:26 up, but Jalen, when that happened, the play was dead and he said, you know what? F this
00:12:32 guy, bang. See you later. So I don't know. I think it's different, but curious to know
00:12:38 you on a random note, fair or foul. The guy in the white long sleeve t-shirt looks like
00:12:43 Andre Agassi. It might not be, but it's a tennis player. He does a little bit. I think
00:12:49 it looks like pep. He does. He does look like Andre pep also does look like Andre Agassi.
00:12:55 Yeah. Doppelganger. Uh, ah, he looks more like pep. I'll give, I'll give this one to
00:13:01 Sam. So review. This is pep. I despise. Yeah. I can, this is pep. He's very handsome. I
00:13:08 still despise him. So I'll give it to both of you, but I can tell it's on the J B J B
00:13:14 play versus a KP play. Oh, thoughts on the difference. Um, I don't know. I think like
00:13:21 you said there, it started with Bam as a basketball play and his arm just happened to end up there.
00:13:28 But then there is that extra swipe to go a little further up. And so it becomes a play
00:13:34 that crosses the threshold of what can be excused. And what again becomes a bit of a
00:13:41 all lowercase 30 play. So different, but, and not deliberate, but, uh, it did happen
00:13:48 and it did go over a line sort of speak. Yeah. I think Jalen's was worse. I don't really
00:13:55 think either of these is the absolute worst. I think Jalen's could have been very dangerous,
00:14:00 but it's not. So we all like understand it was not the greatest. We've watched Jalen
00:14:05 play basketball for years and years and years, and we haven't seen him do anything like this.
00:14:12 So this isn't like a serial thing. It's, Hey, you upset me. You didn't play real defense.
00:14:20 Get taught. You're learning a lesson, buddy. I mean, guys also hang on someone, you know,
00:14:25 the guy trying to get the past, they hang all over them all the time. So like in that
00:14:29 sense, Jalen, he will do it again. And also drape himself on you as an off ball defender.
00:14:36 Take a look at him. I mean, he's got to do that to play defense. I will also say, um,
00:14:45 I think this is important to, if Porzingis fell there, views and bam gets to your flagrant.
00:14:49 And I know Sam, you're one of the guys who always complains about falling, which rightfully
00:14:53 so. I think it's, it's lame and I don't like it on jump shots. Sure. Whatever. But the
00:14:58 point is players aren't getting calls if they don't fall down. That's just how it works.
00:15:03 And it's, it's garbage and it's just how the game is. It's, if you don't fall, you're
00:15:08 not going to get a call. And I agree with Timo. If he had fallen there, if KP went to
00:15:12 the ground and started writhing in pain, like a soccer player, you would've gotten the call.
00:15:16 Absolutely a hundred percent. So I think it'd be whatever, a hundred percent, but I'll say
00:15:22 this though. So specifically with Jalen and Duncan, what I care more about is the response
00:15:29 and yes, Miami's at home and they get a jolt from a crowd that suddenly comes alive, but
00:15:34 they're also playing without Jimmy Butler and prayers out to him and his family and
00:15:38 Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson got hurt too. He's not that good, but he's in their
00:15:42 rotation and they were already shorthanded. And so you would have liked to have seen the
00:15:46 Celtics there in, you know, in the immediate aftermath, handle it better. But instead it
00:15:52 was Miami that went on a run and played better for a good chunk of the proceeding minutes.
00:15:59 And so that was a bit disappointing to see, but then to the Celtics credit, they stabilized
00:16:04 and they made the winning plays necessary. Porzingis tipping out the Brown missed three,
00:16:09 the Jalen gets his own rebound. Tatum then goes to the line to ice the game. That's a
00:16:13 huge play. And the Horford block earlier on Bam out of bio, that's a winning play right
00:16:19 there. So the Celtics, they did step up and do what was necessary. I also think they could
00:16:24 have initially responded better. And that's why you hear from Porzingis to Jalen to Joe
00:16:30 Missoula talk about how, and even Al Horford said in his interview with Abby Chin that
00:16:35 they need these moments and as battle tested as they are, as much as you might want to
00:16:39 say that they shouldn't. The reality is that especially from one season to a next, you
00:16:45 do need them. And so as many of them as possible, it's going to be beneficial come playoff time.
00:16:50 Yeah. I think the end of this game was interesting. I think to go in chronological order and follow
00:17:00 your points, the Jalen play was a bad read the room moment. The Celtics were trying to
00:17:06 pull away and ice the game, that motion, the whip, the arm drag, whatever you want to call
00:17:14 it, cause the Celtics of possession and then resulted in a five point heat possession because
00:17:22 they got two free throws in the ball and then they made a three with their actual possession.
00:17:27 So it's kind of tough when you're up nine and then all of a sudden you're not, everyone's
00:17:32 going to remember it a bit more as far as the Celtics as a whole and how they responded
00:17:36 yesterday. Jack and I talked about this on the post game recap that went up this morning.
00:17:44 Very impressive because they didn't have everything go their way in this game down the stretch.
00:17:49 We've seen them do a pretty good job of executing at times this year. They've been able to go
00:17:54 to poor Zingas. They've had Tatum take over for stretches and things are very easy when
00:17:59 the ball goes in the basket. But I don't think we've seen them win a game just by getting
00:18:04 the stops in, in making the extra strides to get across the finish line.
00:18:08 We saw that yesterday. They did a very solid job of defending Miami down the stretch. Hero
00:18:14 caught fire in the second half. He was a real problem to deal with. They shut him down.
00:18:18 Bam didn't do a whole lot down the stretch either. Al Horford did a really good job on
00:18:22 him. They, despite not making shots, wrapped it up on the offensive end. Like Bobby mentioned
00:18:29 by hustling, they got the offensive rebound that led to them icing the game. That's how
00:18:34 you need to win as a championship team. And I think that's a lot of what people want to
00:18:38 see from this group. Me personally, I like to know that they can win a game if they need
00:18:44 to get stops.
00:18:45 Cause in the past, I just haven't felt that last year. I certainly didn't feel it. The
00:18:49 playoffs, they never had faith in them to get a stop. You saw them lose multiple playoff
00:18:53 games three off the top of my head where they lost at the end because they didn't get a
00:18:59 stop. Hard in game one, Trey Young game five, hard in game four. That's just three possessions.
00:19:06 If they just got to stop, that's three free wins.
00:19:08 Now to be fair, Trey Young hit a 30 footer.
00:19:12 It's true.
00:19:13 So I'm with you on the overall point for sure. There's also some tipping your cap to Trey
00:19:18 Young there.
00:19:20 I had no faith and I was correct.
00:19:24 I mean, it shouldn't have come down to that. I think that's the bigger thing in that game
00:19:27 specifically, but that's not a history that we're trying to rehash right now.
00:19:30 No, no, definitely not.
00:19:32 Yeah, no, I thought that he came was good. I thought it was one of their better wins
00:19:36 of the season. I think it was equal parts. He made some tough shots down the stretch
00:19:41 for sure with hero and them.
00:19:44 So that was frustrating and Celtics did make, let me rephrase.
00:19:46 Jaylen Brown did make some mistakes at the end of that game that could have cost him.
00:19:49 Like it was very much Jaylen Brown is either doing the best thing possible to help this
00:19:53 team win or the worst thing to make them lose.
00:19:55 It was an offensive rebound that helped them seal the game to miss free throws or drawing
00:19:59 a foul or grabbing an offensive.
00:20:01 Like there was no in between. It was either Jaylen is impacting the game in the best way
00:20:04 or the worst way, but it worked out in the end and I think the good outweighed the bad,
00:20:08 but it was a good win.
00:20:10 Jason Tatum played great. He attacked the paint and an elite level.
00:20:14 Chris stops attack mismatches like Sam says, like he was playing on a nerf hoop.
00:20:18 Drew Holiday made all the shots. He was great. Derek White for the lack of impact offensively
00:20:23 he had in this game, which was there. He was solid on defense all night long, which is
00:20:27 just what he does. And so I thought it was a great team when I thought it was proof that
00:20:31 they can beat a good team and I haven't seen it anywhere, but I have to imagine he fans
00:20:36 are saying, well, just imagine when we have Jimmy and we have this like good for you,
00:20:39 but if you were about two weeks, just a little bit ago and got smacked and I was more impressed
00:20:45 by that performance from the Celtics.
00:20:47 Although again, to have these, when it, the intensity amplifies you're on the road against
00:20:54 that particular franchise as well. I thought this was a reminder for any Celtics fans who
00:20:59 are pouring dirt on this iteration of the Miami heat. You just can't discount them come
00:21:05 playoff time. Now, if Terry Rozier, if he's out for the season, that's a massive blow
00:21:09 for them. It's after the deadline buyout markets historically don't move the needle anywhere
00:21:14 close to what they were anticipating getting out of him.
00:21:17 So that that's certainly a blow, but this is a team that even when they don't look particularly
00:21:22 impressive on paper has given teams fits and upset teams way above them in the standings.
00:21:29 So I would not discount the Miami heat. I thought this was the latest reminder of that,
00:21:33 but I'm glad the Celtics went through this. I thought there were some moments in the fourth
00:21:36 quarter, some stretches that could have handled better, but they started to keep them off
00:21:41 the glass after it was killing them in the second half, a number of heroes points came
00:21:45 on second chance threes.
00:21:47 And so to cut that water off after already giving up six second chance points in the
00:21:52 final frame, that was an important part of why they were able to put this game away.
00:21:57 Definitely. I'll also say the Rozier thing. I remember going to war to you guys with you
00:22:04 guys when Terry was your side of the heat. And I was like, I don't know if I like it
00:22:07 that much. I don't know if I'm in on it. And what have you guys made of territories?
00:22:12 Yours thing or stint in Miami so far? Well, it might not. I'm just curious. Also, I'd
00:22:17 still long rants. So Sam, if you want to go first, uh, stats say bad. I don't have an
00:22:26 eye test cause I'm not watching heat. All I remember saying is I don't think the efficiency
00:22:31 will hold because he's in a smaller role.
00:22:34 The efficiency. Yeah. And I believe we all noted that when we did the show talking about
00:22:39 the move, I still look at it and I, I know that no one's going to agree with him and
00:22:44 say it's his coach. It's just lip service. But Eric's bolster said that he felt like
00:22:50 with Taylor's here in the lineup, they were getting better on ball defense from that position
00:22:54 than they were before he arrived. And I think Miami's defense got a little bit better after
00:23:00 Roseal's Razier's arrival. Excuse me. The efficiency was obviously going to drop off.
00:23:06 It's a lot different in Charlotte than in Miami and where you are in the hierarchy.
00:23:10 Razier is not really known for being that guy with less touches, fewer dribbles, less
00:23:16 shots and maintaining that efficiency. But he is a good threat off the ball as a catch
00:23:22 and shoot guy when, you know, on a smaller sample size.
00:23:26 And so I think ultimately he wasn't real. I think that the numbers weren't great overall,
00:23:32 but that he was acclimating. And I would have been curious to see if he had this rest of
00:23:39 the regular season, what it looked like come playoff time.
00:23:42 You made a good point, Bobby. I just looked to double check cause my memory tells me otherwise,
00:23:48 but Terry Rose, you're on the Celtics, not efficient, terrible. I said this literally
00:23:57 never cracked 40% from the field in the regular season and the playoffs that 2018 run, he
00:24:03 was just over 40% from the field. He really was not that great. And it's funny how much
00:24:08 he was glorified knowing what we were looking at then I can't believe it.
00:24:15 So him joining the heat, I think you guys were right. Maybe it's just not the greatest
00:24:21 to be like, take less shots. Terry put it. I do think there's, I do think there's a part
00:24:27 of it where like he has a high level ball handler at the very least. Like he can make
00:24:30 plays. He'd had that super cool law the other last night against Celtics or afternoon, I
00:24:34 should say, but I think it's all a balance. He also hasn't played in the playoffs in like
00:24:38 five years, so maybe that'll have an impact on him too, but he's not ready for the bright
00:24:42 lights. His eyes aren't adjusted anymore. It's like when you're in the dark room and
00:24:45 you go outside or they turn on the lights, it's tough.
00:24:50 The funny thing is that like that was a young version of Terry Rozier that couldn't one.
00:24:54 It was weird that he was playing point guard over Marcus smart and two, he couldn't really
00:25:00 do it like they would go on the road and lose. And a lot of it had to do with how the offense
00:25:05 was getting orchestrated under Rozier. But when you put them, especially now that he's
00:25:09 older, when you put them off the ball, he's actually pretty good as a secondary creator.
00:25:15 But again, it's a lot of adjusting when all of a sudden you're playing with Bam and Jimmy
00:25:20 Butler and some of these guys on Miami and you're just trying to fit in because you just
00:25:24 got there compared to being in Charlotte and you can kind of just do what you want.
00:25:29 I love him as a secret agent sleeper cell in the heat culture. Let him head in there.
00:25:37 Anyways, moving on from the heat, Celtics have a couple of games against the Nets coming
00:25:41 up, one of which Sam and I will be live on the Celtics blog playback the away game. So
00:25:45 make sure to tune on in there. Which day is that? That's the 13th tomorrow. Tomorrow.
00:25:49 We there tomorrow. No matter what, live with Jake from first to floor. Absolute legend.
00:25:54 But two back to back games against that. It's supposed to snow. Oh yeah. I don't think I'm
00:25:58 going big time. That's huge. I love that. But two back to back game again, games, excuse
00:26:04 me, against the Nets and their last 15. Cam Thomas has been averaging 23 as has Mikhail
00:26:09 Bridges. Nick Claxton is playing really, really well. 13.11 rebound double double for him.
00:26:14 I was listening to JJ Reddick's part of Luca the other day and Luca went out of his way
00:26:18 to say Nick Claxton is a guy who defends me really well. So keep an eye out for that.
00:26:21 I suppose Nick Claxton, a good defender on the Nets. That said, in their last 15 games,
00:26:27 they are five and 10. So it's not like they've been playing super well. This is a team that
00:26:31 I feel like should probably be a bit better than they are this season. They have more
00:26:34 talent than what their record shows. It's just that talent doesn't fit well together.
00:26:38 That said, I think they will be better down the stretch moving forward because they have
00:26:44 former Celtic Mr. Dennis Schroeder on the team now, who I think is a pretty perfect
00:26:48 fit for them. Like he's he's exactly what they need at a lower level. It is. They need
00:26:52 a point guard who can handle the ball and organize things. And he was going on this
00:26:57 whole thing, you know, coming into the season saying, I want to run my own team. I want
00:27:00 to do this, blah, blah, blah. The Nets are the team to do that. If you are a point guard
00:27:04 in the NBA who is maybe not a superstar who wants to run their own team. And for what
00:27:07 it's worth, as much as I didn't like Schroeder's fit on the Celtics, I think he's a perfect
00:27:11 fit in Brooklyn. I did because you despised him. You can't fit a high usage ball dominant
00:27:16 point guard on a team with Tatum and Brown. That's just not like you can't do that. We've
00:27:21 seen it. We've seen it time and time again fall apart ahead of the finals. And that's
00:27:26 not like that's just not the recipe for success. But Schroeder was great on the German national
00:27:30 team this summer. And he was I mean, he won FIBA and he was really good in Toronto. And
00:27:36 I think you put more shooting and defense around him in Brooklyn. I'm not saying they're
00:27:39 going to win games, but I think that's like a high level playing team. Like I think they
00:27:43 can get the seven, eight seed at the very least. I'm saying if they had a whole season
00:27:47 together, but Bobby, here's to know your thoughts on the Nets and the Celtics upcoming games.
00:27:51 So one thing is that I would look at McHale Bridges and Cam Johnson and say, I want my
00:27:56 team to run. And one of the reasons it didn't work with Schroeder in Boston is walking the
00:28:04 ball up and not playing at the tempo needed to be successful. And so I'm curious to see
00:28:10 how that fit looks, how it goes for Dennis Schroeder, the facilitator, but as a scorer
00:28:15 with the floor space, then yeah, I think this is a good fit.
00:28:19 It's an opportunity that he wants. So I'm with you there. He does. I mean, he's so fast.
00:28:23 He gets into the paint consistently and what that does, especially when he's looking to
00:28:28 kick it out, could be really nice for Brooklyn and for Schroeder. So we'll, we'll see how
00:28:33 it all unfolds for them and how quickly it comes together if it does at all. And so when
00:28:39 it comes to this upcoming matchup, I would say what I'm most interested in about, I just
00:28:45 butchered that phrase, excuse me, but I wrote about this after the game against Washington
00:28:50 Friday night where the Celtics, and this is common around the NBA.
00:28:54 So this is not more about them than anyone else, but like a lot of players, like a lot
00:28:59 of teams looking ahead to vacation, just as we all did, you know, when it was getting
00:29:05 ready, school was winding down. Maybe the last day you're just watching a movie, start
00:29:09 looking ahead to the break. And so they have been guilty of that for sure. Lately, they
00:29:14 just cranked it up in Miami. I wonder how they respond to games in two nights against
00:29:21 the same opponent. I wonder how they respond, especially on Tuesday in Brooklyn.
00:29:27 Are you going to that game in Brooklyn, Bobby, or are you just going to the home game? I
00:29:32 will not just go into the home game. All right. I was going to say, it's your responsibility
00:29:35 to remind them before the game that they should try. This is a home and home. They should
00:29:41 do the double. They should beat the nets. The nets are not good. Jack said at five and
00:29:46 10, their last 15, they've really, really skidded after the beginning of the season
00:29:51 where they were somewhat competitive. Now they are not good, bad. Shooters. Interesting.
00:29:59 I always kind of liked him when he was here. I agree with Jack where he wasn't the greatest
00:30:03 fit. I don't think he was helping them win games, but I thought he was fun to watch.
00:30:06 I like his kind of quick movements. I don't know. I like that. He models game after Rhonda.
00:30:13 That's really what it was. But I remember his first preseason game here. He like really
00:30:17 came out like hustling. He was firing all cylinders. He was a spark plug. So if he's
00:30:23 in that mentality with the nets, he could be a tough cover. He'll probably have a chip
00:30:27 on his shoulder after being traded away from a team that went to the finals. And Mikhail
00:30:33 bridges has always been a good player. I mean, the nets last year around this time had that
00:30:40 really, really bad or big comeback win for them, but bad Celtics loss at home where they
00:30:46 were up a zillion and then the nets just stormed back and it was one of Mikhail bridges first
00:30:52 games. So just be serious is the only key for me. Interested to see the Tatum bridges
00:30:58 matchup interest to see Claxton down low guarding the big guys and Ben Simmons back. We didn't
00:31:05 even talk about Ben Simmons. He's excited for Ben Simmons too. Yeah. Ben, I I've said
00:31:10 this the same million times. Ben Simmons is one of those guys where no matter how many
00:31:13 times I get fooled and egg on my face, if he's back, I will think he's going to be successful
00:31:17 and be a player. And that's my flaw. That's my fatal flaw. I know it's going to come back
00:31:20 to bite me, but I'm always going to take it. It took me until the way that this season
00:31:25 unfolded to stop being Charlie Brown, trying to kick the football only to have Ben Simmons,
00:31:31 Lucy pull it away from me and I wipe out. I was, you know, he just, the, the ship has
00:31:37 sailed on him being silly. Ben Simmons. Listen, listen, listen. I'm not, he's never going
00:31:42 to be Philly. Ben Simmons. I admit that I own that, but he's been back for five games
00:31:46 in their last seven. They're three and two in those games. And he's been a plus plus
00:31:50 minus and four of them. I'm just saying it's possible. Anyways. Ben Simmons is basically
00:31:56 grant. He is the, go ahead, Sam. He is the never played on the Celtics equivalent of
00:32:03 grant for me, where no matter what, whatever misfortune that he has is always hilarious.
00:32:09 Like he's injured again. Kind of funny. This guy never wants to play basketball. He plays
00:32:14 poorly. Ah, look at that. He's washed. He's not committed to the grind. He looks stupid
00:32:20 sitting on the bench and his super cool drip. Just hilarious. I mean, just look at that
00:32:24 picture of him dressed as a clown. While Rob throws down the alley of dunk in the playoff
00:32:28 game, immortalized. That's the Ben Simmons that I think of now, not the guy in Philly
00:32:33 that didn't want to take the super cool dunk over Troy young.
00:32:38 My favorite Ben Simmons moment from this season was not a basketball play. It was the two
00:32:44 handed shove on Jared Allen. So he throws me down and Jared says, well, now that I've
00:32:50 made a fool of myself on national television, I need to go at this guy and Ben Simmons hands
00:32:55 by his hips. No fear whatsoever of Jared Allen. Who's six 11 to whatever he's running. He's
00:33:02 got momentum. He gives him the shop. He barely moves them. Ben Simmons facial expression
00:33:07 doesn't change, not phase to the least. And it's just like, come on bro. That's my favorite
00:33:11 Ben Simmons moment. That's a side of him. I feel like we've never seen before.
00:33:16 And then the cab scored 21 straight points. Yeah. I mean, then we go to what's happening
00:33:21 on the court in Brooklyn and the Ben Simmons ship has sailed unfortunately, but that was
00:33:27 the highlight of the year for Ben Simmons in my book. It will never sail for me. I'm
00:33:33 in on Ben Simmons. I really hope he plays well. I only want him to play well against
00:33:37 the Celtics. I don't want them to win. Obviously I would like the Celtics to handle their business
00:33:41 and I'll talk about that in a second. But if Ben Simmons plays well, I'd just love to
00:33:44 come on here and say, guys, look, I knew it. Like he can still do nuts. I think this is
00:33:49 a big, okay. Yeah.
00:33:51 Is a difference maker in this game in the Celtics lose. I'm going to be so mad.
00:33:55 If you remember in Brooklyn last season, he started to be a difference maker in the first
00:33:59 half in one of those games. And then because he was passing up shots, Jock von pulled them.
00:34:07 We'll see. I do think this is a big two games for them, right? This is good. This is screaming
00:34:11 Piston's last game before the all-star break from two years ago. This is screaming, just
00:34:17 hold your, hold your hold firm. Like, go, like, go to the all-star break on wins. If
00:34:21 they win these next two games, hold, if they win these next two games, it'll be a six game
00:34:26 win streak heading into the all-star break, which doesn't even feel like anything close
00:34:29 to the case, right? Like they've won four games in a row right now. And it feels like
00:34:32 they've lost at least two of them, but they've won them. They've won them. They found ways
00:34:35 to win as Jalen said, after the wizards game, they just handled the heat and a pretty good
00:34:39 win. You've got two games against the Nets team that for what it's worth, as poorly as
00:34:43 they've been playing, they are bad on offense.
00:34:46 They're 22 and offense, but they are the eighth best defense in the last 15 games, right?
00:34:50 So they're a fine defensive team. They're a team with, if they were good enough on offense,
00:34:54 like this is a team that could probably do a pretty good job guarding the Celtics. You
00:34:58 have Mikhail Bridges, you have Nick Claxton, you have Cam Johnson, you've got solid defenders
00:35:01 coming on the roster. Ben Simmons for all his flaws is a fine defender, but you got
00:35:07 to win these two games. This is not a good team. You've got to handle your business.
00:35:10 This is, it almost feels like an in-between and that's because they are in between literally
00:35:16 of the wizards and the heat. Like the heat feel like a team the Celtics want to play
00:35:19 well against. And we've seen that they want to get up against the heat, then they're going
00:35:21 to play well.
00:35:22 They want to get up against the Knicks. They're going to play well. They want to get up against
00:35:25 these teams that they are not rivals with, but that play them hard and our playoff teams
00:35:31 don't care about the wizards. Don't care about the Hawks. Don't care about the Grizzlies,
00:35:35 but this next team is sort of in the middle. So I'm curious to see if they treat them like
00:35:38 the Hawks or they treat them like an actual playoff opponent, because they've played the
00:35:43 nets very well.
00:35:44 It's outside of that one instance, Sam's referencing. They played the nets very well
00:35:47 over the last few years. Is this going to be a, let's go into the Austin break hot and
00:35:53 stay, stay poised or is this going to be, it's two games against the nets. Do these
00:35:58 games really matter? Which to be clear, outside of the going into the break hot, these games
00:36:02 probably don't matter realistically, but they have to matter.
00:36:06 They have to treat them like they matter. And that's the important, well, not everyone's
00:36:09 a psycho, but like in the grand scheme of the playoffs, it's, it's, you got to stay
00:36:13 focused for this. Well, so that's why it's so important that the Celtics have taken
00:36:17 on the mantra this season of win the day. I mean, we've already discussed it on the
00:36:22 show. I'll be quick here at the last season, they looked ahead and they got burned for
00:36:26 it. And it was something I wrote about a few times along the way. And so that's one thing
00:36:31 you want to stay true to what your identity has become this season. Also, Kristaps Porzingis
00:36:38 is probably not going to play in both of these games.
00:36:40 I would think coming off of the lower back contusion that he sits Tuesday and plays Wednesday
00:36:47 and Al Horford does the opposite. We'll see how they structure it. You should still beat
00:36:50 the Brooklyn nets. Also, also people might not love this, but I would not be opposed
00:36:58 to looking at these games and saying, we don't need basically a little page out of the Miami
00:37:05 heat San Antonio spur playbook of we can pace ourselves through this matchup. It could have
00:37:11 looked a lot better against Washington, but really all they had to do was crank it up
00:37:15 for one quarter and that was good enough to get a win.
00:37:17 You would have liked a better fourth to make it more comfortable. Victory is victory. And
00:37:22 so against Brooklyn, I don't need 48 minutes of full throttle basketball, but you don't
00:37:31 want to do too much of a disservice to yourself because I'm less concerned about getting a
00:37:36 win in Brooklyn in the middle of February before the all-star break. Then I am about
00:37:41 the ultimate goal. Another reason why poor Zingas should not, and most likely will not
00:37:46 play in both of these contests.
00:37:49 Where the correct jerseys set, set the tone for a good finish to the season. Like go into
00:37:55 the all-star break. Please be serious. This has been an embarrassing week to say the very
00:38:02 least. It is green jerseys against the Hawks. The city additions against Washington played
00:38:08 terrible. Then they wear this, the white city additions on the road yesterday in Miami,
00:38:13 which I know is Miami's fault, but you could still wear the green ones against the black
00:38:17 Jersey. And then, you know, you come in these nets games dress for success.
00:38:23 That's really all I want to see, especially after what they did to me on Friday. That
00:38:26 was terrible. Yeah. They pump fake you. Do we get the schedules yet? Is locker vision
00:38:31 like go that far? Is it just, it probably does, but I don't want to know. I like going
00:38:35 on Twitter and finding out that you don't want to know. No, he likes the surprise. I
00:38:40 like going on Twitter and tweeting about it. Well, then I wish I didn't spoil it for myself
00:38:44 because now I have to remember not to tell you, but I will not, I will not tell you.
00:38:49 Okay. Michael, I'm going to let Sam lead this question because Michael Haley is asking what's
00:38:54 more fun to watch the super bowl or where's his versus piston. So if you took the same
00:38:59 commercials from each event and you pasted them in the breaks, I would rather watch wizards
00:39:07 pistons that game rules.
00:39:10 Uh, did not care for the super bowl itself. It was a good game. It was entertaining, but
00:39:17 the commercials are always the highlight. Even in, and I'll say this, we talked about
00:39:23 this Jack. There was only one commercial and I haven't been actively looking one commercial
00:39:29 that I had known what it was beforehand. And it was the John Krasinski, Randall park, Ryan
00:39:35 Reynolds. There were a couple others that I had seen. Unfortunately, I can't remember
00:39:38 which I saw, but um, best commercial of the night fellows. And there is a correct answer.
00:39:44 Yeah. I mean, they nailed it. That was props to them for that all time. All time stuff.
00:39:51 Shout out. Um, Bobby, any final thoughts? Anything we missed? I think we covered it
00:39:56 all. Let me get the cards. I'm going to get them out of my backpack. I was going to say,
00:40:00 what is this? I started winning trivia and we stopped doing it. I always ask Bobby if
00:40:05 we missed anything. We wanted to do it last time. I know. Cause I had to go to the game.
00:40:10 Yeah. Oh, that's right. Okay. My bad. But yeah, we are wrong. It's three to one Sam
00:40:16 and I'm fighting to avoid a parade for Mr. La France 32323232. You were still on the
00:40:23 ropes. Let me find the ad. I enjoyed that because he's like at the bar and the soccer
00:40:32 ball comes over to him and he's like, well, I guess I have no choice but to just run the
00:40:37 ball through the entire beach. I have to go and humiliate all of these people. It was
00:40:44 also great because I'm like, like the only words he said, because his English isn't great.
00:40:50 It's just Michelob, Michelob, Vulture, please. That's all he said. If I'm Michelob, I'm including
00:40:57 in the contract, some sort of price built in for him to post on social media because
00:41:02 he has as many followers as almost everyone. So that's part of the deal with that commercial.
00:41:08 Leo shows a Ted Lasso. Shout out. Was Dan Marino also in that commercial? He was, he
00:41:18 was. All right. Sorry, Chad. I am currently trying to find a good while you do. What did
00:41:24 we think of usher? He was great. W that was great. That was great. We were fighting me
00:41:30 and so I was watching it with my buddies in Austin and some of our friends from home.
00:41:36 Sam, you know, Danny, some of our friends from high school texted us and were like,
00:41:40 I thought it was man. I'm like, did you watch it? What do you mean? It was a man that was
00:41:44 electric. I will say, yeah, please go first. I will. So my one note is, are there two notes?
00:41:51 I would have liked more singing from him and I would have liked longer cuts of each song.
00:41:59 I thought the samples of the heads were a little too short, but I think that's more
00:42:04 of a super bowl directive than an usher thing. And just like the band is an all time entertainer.
00:42:11 So absolutely. Shout out to, despite the disagreement of Brian Scalabrini and he's wrong on this.
00:42:16 Shout out to an icon in usher. Yeah. By the way, who is often wrong, but also usher final
00:42:24 point on him. Love you scale. I've got kind of dwarfed himself. Did not, did not look
00:42:30 very big next to Alicia keys. He was shorter. He's not that tall. I know. Not what he brings
00:42:37 to the table. You got to shoot from like the chest up. Yeah. My three things, as Ashton
00:42:41 says, he was getting very close to Alicia keys. Swiss said he enjoyed it and didn't
00:42:46 care. I was like, all I'm saying is the fellows were like, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, What
00:42:51 are we doing? Uh, we'll also say, uh, the way he ended the show made it sound like Justin
00:42:57 Bieber is about to come out. And then he didn't very upsetting. That was like, come on. I
00:43:02 know. We were waiting to come out. We were all on the same page on that. I also reading
00:43:06 the text by the way. Um, but I do wish it was JB and uh, it was good though. Overall.
00:43:12 Uh, do you see what manager obli tweeted? No. He said, I wish I could look like that
00:43:17 at 45. Yeah. All right. Trivia time. Uh, Michael Hilly says you're giving them free trivia.
00:43:24 Give the stream some more likes. We're gonna do trivia because it's a staple of the show.
00:43:28 But if you'd like to leave a like, we have eight right now and we'd like to get that
00:43:31 to 20 because there are in fact 36 of you watching. So please like the stream. We'd
00:43:35 appreciate it. Anyways, let's get to trivia. I have picked a card. There are eight on the
00:43:39 card. So if there is a tie, we will go to another one, but it is a two, three series
00:43:43 in Sam's favor. Sam won the last one. So Sam will go first. Here's the question through
00:43:48 2021 eight different Celtics have blocked seven or more shots in a single game. Again,
00:43:55 I'll read it again for the chat through 2021 eight different Celtics have blocked seven
00:43:59 or more shots in a single game. Name those, um, eight players, Sam, Robert Parish. I hate
00:44:06 you for taking that one first. Yes, sir. Robert. I don't have a whole lot going on upstairs.
00:44:13 This is a tough one. So we'll start with Kevin Garnett. Correct. Oh no. Are you Sam? I am
00:44:23 going to change the board a little here just so we get the better coloring here, but maybe
00:44:28 it's a filibuster for you. Try and think of other people. I'm going to say perk Kendrick
00:44:37 Perkins is correct. Yes. I think perk has like the playoff record. I don't know if they
00:44:40 count perk in the playoffs, but I think he had like 10 or something. I believe it. Bobby
00:44:48 bill Russell. They don't count blocks. So that's the thing is that I think he deserves
00:44:54 to be on there. I think we all know that he did it. I think we all know that he did it.
00:44:59 They don't count blocks. Uh, so I'm going to have to say no, I'm sorry. I'm just, we're
00:45:04 going to have to go with no, uh, it's not on the card, but the card is not on the card.
00:45:09 It's the card is lying to you. It's not on the card. So I apologize, but we're going
00:45:12 to have to go with a no. I am going to try to put a different background up here so I
00:45:15 can see some talking scenes. Uh, Sam, back to you. Um, Oh boy. I'm going to guess Dave
00:45:26 Cowens. Don't know if they counted blocks yet. No Dave Cowens. No Dave Cowens. Back
00:45:35 to you Bobby. Off the chat on my screen. Oh yeah. Respect. Respect. Bobby, what do we
00:45:42 got cooking here? There are some ones you should get that are left. I'll say that. No,
00:45:46 we're giving it. That's barely a hit. Let's just saying like you guys should get some
00:45:50 of them. Come on. You say that did Robert Williams ever do it? Yes he did. Good pick.
00:45:58 Oh, that's a good pick. Thank you. All right. Sam, back to you. I'm going to guess I'm going
00:46:08 to guess Larry Bird. No Larry legend on here. Nope. Bobby throwing it back. There's one.
00:46:21 I'm so tempted to guess, but I'm going to, I'm not going to guess that this entire game
00:46:25 because it's such a, but I just don't know. He had like a career night. I don't know if
00:46:31 he got to seven though. So I'm going to keep it in the holster. May have said too much
00:46:36 just now, but I will instead. Yes. Did, um, did Paul Silas ever do it? No, he didn't.
00:46:57 Sorry. Sam, back to you after this round, I'll start giving clues. I'm sorry. I'm not
00:47:07 talking. Uh, it's okay. I mean, this is going to be a video to the live stream. We'll just
00:47:11 have to have to deal with it. This is tough. Um, I have some names out there. I'm not certain
00:47:21 about any of them and I feel like it's going to be some of the people I really don't think
00:47:25 have done it. So I'm going to guess Antoine Walker. No Antoine Walker. Sorry. Back to
00:47:33 you Bobby. Mark Blount. No Mark Blount. Okay. First clue. Uh, three of these players that
00:47:41 are left are hall of Famers. So two of them deservedly so. And one of them, well all deservedly
00:47:51 so, but one is not, you would think of, you know what I'm saying? All right. Um, I'm going
00:48:02 to guess Kevin McHale. I'll just guess it. Yeah, correct. I was going to hold onto it
00:48:07 cause I just, I've guessed Kevin McHale in this trivia thing a bunch of times and it's
00:48:11 just never him. Phil was there. Phil had it. Phil was on it. Back to you. Let me put, I'm
00:48:20 going to, while Bobby's guessing, I'm going to put the question on the screen somewhere
00:48:22 so the chat knows what we're guessing. Just type in the chat and then pull up the message.
00:48:27 Oh yeah. I'll just pin it. Good call. It is your turn Bobby though. I'm just typing. So
00:48:32 take your time. I'm going to just start firing the ones I'm not sure about. Might as well
00:48:40 get those shots up. Yeah. You guys both blocked the chat, right? Yeah, I don't have the chat.
00:48:47 Okay. Cause Phil's cooking. I will go Sam Jones. No, Sammy Jones. Sorry, Sam, back to
00:49:02 you. This would be a big one cause you would have four and you wouldn't be unable to lose.
00:49:07 Bobby could only tie. Why did you have to say that? I got to put the pressure on. All
00:49:12 right. I'm going to, I'm going to guess Al Horford. I don't think it's Al Horford because
00:49:18 I think that would have been part of the hint and I know he's gotten five, but I can't off
00:49:22 the top of my head remember him getting more and I would remember. No Al Horford. Sorry.
00:49:29 Respect the guess though. Had to try. Back to you Bobby. Had I not guessed and been wrong,
00:49:37 I would have been devastated. So for a refresher on the clue slash filibuster, there were at
00:49:44 the time of the clue. So including the kale, three hall of famers left, there were four
00:49:49 left, four players left and three were hall of famers. Yes. So there were three with two
00:49:53 hall of famers. Correct. Phil, I'll give another clue after this round. Sam went first. I'm
00:49:58 going to give it after Bobby goes, but I will give another clue. I will also, I would leave
00:50:02 this on the screen, but it does just completely block Bobby's. Oh, it does block Bobby. So
00:50:06 I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna throw it up there. Might be a horrible guess because his stint
00:50:11 was brief and he was coming off the bench, but Bill Walton. Yeah, correct. Bill Walton
00:50:18 is a hall of famer. That's, that's the one Phil had it in the chat. Phil was going for
00:50:22 it. He was a name that stayed in the clip and I didn't know if he was coming out and
00:50:26 he was in the clip for me too. I'm devastated. Okay. All right, here we go. Two left. One
00:50:31 is a hall of famer. Do we want another clue now or do we want to wait? No, not now. I'm
00:50:35 saying if you really want one now, of course we can, but I'm taking the damn clue. You
00:50:41 guys both have to agree before you get a clue cause it's round around. So discuss. All right.
00:50:47 He wants the clue. We'll, we'll go for the clue. Okay. Um, let's see. I've got to think
00:50:53 of a fair clue. Do you want a clue for one player specifically or for like, yeah, because
00:50:56 we already know one of them's a hall of famer. Okay. So do you want a clue for the other
00:51:01 one? Sure. Yes. Yes. But not an obvious clue for the record. I'll give you an air. I have
00:51:06 a, can I give you an, can I give you an, like an era? Is that a fine clue? Yes. Yes. This
00:51:12 player played from the late nineties to early 2010s. Then that's the non hall of famer by
00:51:22 the way. Okay. Phil's hell yeah. Early 2010s. Phil is a beast. Phil's an OG too. He's a
00:51:32 legend of the chat. No, I'm not sure. Much respect. I don't know who the other hall of
00:51:40 famer would be. This is going to be bad if it's wrong. Did Paul Pierce ever get seven
00:51:49 plus blocks? He did not. I respect the guests though. Sometimes you just got to guess some
00:51:54 of those. Also Pierce's is he in the hall of fame yet? He got it. I wasn't sure if he'd
00:51:59 just got his career high in blocks is five. So close, but no to you, Bobby. I'm glad I
00:52:08 picked this question. It's a good one. It's a good mix of easy and hard ones. I keep going
00:52:13 back and forth on my focus between the two clues. You guys both have comments off, right?
00:52:19 No comments are cooking comments. Hey, X, X, check. You are cooking. I'll say that.
00:52:27 Oh, I was about to bring it up on the screen. Then I realized, wait, then they'll be able
00:52:31 to see it on the screen. No, Phil, sorry. It is not correct. X, X, X check is cooking.
00:52:38 It's tough name to say getting nervous. I have a couple of guesses and I don't have
00:52:44 faith in them and I'm afraid whichever one I don't guess will be the other one will be
00:52:50 right. Well, you could just get some of the back to backgrounds and just assume Bobby
00:52:54 doesn't have them. Good. Thought of you and me. All right. Um, again, I don't love this
00:53:05 guess, but why not? Numbers in the rafters. Oh, actually, nope. Just kidding. I retract.
00:53:11 I'm not, we're not going to guess that it's not a Hall of Famer. Um, yikes.
00:53:23 This is a great question. I'm very happy with this round of trivia. This is great. See,
00:53:28 now I find myself with Sam. I'd actually like another clue, but I mean, you've, you've given
00:53:32 us more than enough. I'll give another one after you guess. Cause Sam went first. Fair.
00:53:38 Um, Sam, you're in luck cause I don't have an answer. Obviously. Um, I'm so glad I'm
00:53:44 reading the questions and not guessing cause I'd be tragic. The nineties to the 2010s.
00:53:58 I am hurt for, this is a really stupid clarifying question, but they did this with the Celtics.
00:54:05 Not just, they did this in their careers. Yeah. Yeah. I assume I'm not absolutely sure,
00:54:11 but like, yeah, yeah. That's how these cards have gone so far. Cause like, for example,
00:54:16 Theo Ratliff probably did it or might've done it, but yeah, he, he didn't really play with
00:54:23 the Celtics. Yeah. No, no, no. This is what the Celtics with the South pass. I'll give
00:54:29 a clue. I can't pass. I mean the stakes here are massive. So I'm just showing this for
00:54:36 the chat. This is not the card. So don't try to read it. I'm not cheating. I got these
00:54:40 from these Boston cards. Well, it's not even the correct question. I'm just showing the
00:54:43 chat, the card deck we have. They got some world questions, some Boston questions. I
00:54:47 picked out the basketball ones. Shout out uncle Dan chat legend. Bobby, if you'd like
00:54:51 to pass, I'll give a clue or if you'd like to take a shot in the dark, you'll get a clue
00:54:53 at the start of the next round.
00:54:56 I'm so stubborn. Um, why is better than not guessing? So it's wrong, but because I'm officially
00:55:07 stumped, I will go with Rodney Rogers. No Rodney Rogers. All right, Phil. No Michael.
00:55:14 Yes. Uh, all right. I'm going to give you a clue for each of them. Um, just so we can
00:55:18 get cooking. Do you want me to tell you which one the clue is for? Do you want me to say
00:55:22 one player? I'm going to make it, I'll specify later. One player only spent four years in
00:55:28 the NBA. The other had a 14 year NBA career and I'll specify which is which. Um, so I
00:55:40 wonder which one's the, Adam, Adam, you need a clue to there's your clue. Adam, this is
00:55:46 here, Adam. I don't know if you saw the question. I'll throw it up in the chat for you. I don't
00:55:49 want to block Bobby's face though, but this is the question we're rocking with right now.
00:55:53 Um,
00:55:54 I think 90s, early 2010s, they were a hall of Famer. I'll give another clue after this
00:56:04 round. Dino Raj to thank you. I swear to God, he just came to my mind too. At the same time
00:56:15 I had him and I have another guest too. And I just realized he definitely did not spend
00:56:20 a lot of time in the NBA because he was playing overseas slash did get out. Michael Haley.
00:56:26 That's Bobby. You get this. You can tie. Phil also got it. Yeah. Phil and Michael are bang,
00:56:33 bang in the chat for what it's worth. X check got this the last one, uh, five minutes ago
00:56:43 he was on it. So credit X check beast in the chat. This is far more fun. Live the trivia.
00:56:49 I'll say this is fire. I'm in hell. You are. I'm about to see the championships be one
00:56:57 to one about to raise a banner. Sam. It's true. I thought the soldiers were going to
00:57:03 raise a banner in 2022 in game four. I was wrong. I hate, I hate that. I don't have an
00:57:10 answer. I can be like, I know this is right, but I will go with Ray for friends. No rate
00:57:16 for friends. Oh no. Sam, I'm going to go. And I don't know if this is right. Tony Batty.
00:57:25 It's a banner in the Raptors. I had them both. I had them in the chamber. Tony Batty. Zach
00:57:34 check had it. Yeah. Tony Batty at 12 Oh seven. He got it. And I was on the rotisserie like
00:57:41 with those names in my chamber. And I think I guessed Al Horford instead of either one
00:57:47 of them. And I was so worried that they were going to get taken. Oh, whatever. I thought
00:57:54 of Dino Raja at the same time. Sam guessed it. You guys liked the little trick. Sam,
00:57:59 you, you were mocking me and I played you. I was like, one is played for 14 years, but
00:58:03 one was four years. And you were like, I wonder where Bobby should be. Cause you did make
00:58:08 a face and it made me think a little bit. I mean, it's like, I did. I'm not going to
00:58:16 tell you which is which. I'm not going to tell you which is which. I thought, I thought
00:58:23 the four year play, I guess I thought the four year player was the hall of Famer for
00:58:27 his basketball career overseas. That led me to Raja. Okay. Well, it was a great round.
00:58:35 One to one in titles. Everyone's saying hello in the chat. Everyone's saying, good job.
00:58:38 Good job. Good job. There we go. Michael, Sam, you came to my parade. I'll be at yours.
00:58:42 They classy man. I'm honored to compete against you. I, I, I'm honored to be in the presence
00:58:50 of two bright basketball minds. It just happened to be the brightest. This round, this, this
00:58:57 one to one, one to one in titles. Bobby, any thoughts for you? We get on out of here. Now
