00:24 I wish that I could try everything, but I can't.
00:27 So, I picked out the best of the best.
00:29 We're going to go to each neighborhood and try one,
00:32 maybe two items from each,
00:34 so that I can show you the most iconic items
00:37 on Icon of the Seas for Iconic Eats.
00:42 We're going to have milkshakes, mac and cheese,
00:44 crepes, cocktails, more cocktails.
00:46 You know I got to have another cocktail after that.
00:49 And maybe some kid-friendly concoctions as well.
00:54 'Cause you know, this is a family show.

01:16 We are at the Hideaway.
01:18 This is our first stop.
01:19 This is their J Club.
01:21 It's very exclusive.
01:22 It is adults only.
01:26 And this is the world's first suspended infinity pool.
01:30 I looked at it when we were walking past
01:32 and I'm like, I have to get inside.
01:34 So, as soon as I get done with this,
01:36 I'll put on my swimsuit and you know where you can find me.
01:39 This is the Blooming Botanical.
01:41 It is gin, elderflower, rosé, blueberry,
01:45 and it has a mint rib.
01:47 Eating a little mint while I drink my drink.
01:53 So, we have our gin.
01:54 So, we have like those really herby flavors.
01:57 And then like elderflower always accents anything
02:00 that's like herby 'cause it's like floral
02:03 and like almost like a sweet floral flavor.
02:08 And then you have your rosé,
02:09 which brings out more of that sweetness.
02:11 And then the mint rim,
02:14 just makes the drink smell so delicious.
02:16 And it like makes you feel good about like
02:19 being out in the middle of the ocean.
02:21 I'm ready to go and start my vacation.
02:25 I can see myself in the infinity pool,
02:28 holding one of these with no worries,
02:31 not a care in the world.
02:32 Just letting the sea wash away all of my thoughts.
02:37 We were just up there and now we're down here at Surfside.

02:52 This is going to be your fun, kid-friendly area.

02:57 So, we're gonna go to a really cool
03:00 Mommy and Me bar type concept.
03:03 It's the Lemon Post.
03:04 They have drinks for the kiddies, drinks for the adults.

03:09 A bit of a detour.
03:11 There's free ice cream and I can't say no.
03:13 So, all day long at Sprinkles, there is free ice cream.
03:18 It's included in your vacation.

03:31 So, we're at the Lemon Post,
03:32 which is a brand new concept here on Royal Caribbean.
03:36 It is sort of like a Mommy and Me bar.
03:38 So, one side of the bar is for regular drinks
03:41 and then this side of the bar is completely non-alcoholic.
03:45 So, in the menu, they have non-alcoholic drinks
03:48 that are meant for adults
03:50 and then they have non-alcoholic drinks
03:52 that are meant for children.
03:54 And so, I'm gonna try one of the kiddie drinks,
03:56 the Pink Mermaid.
03:58 Oh, thank you.

04:04 Okay, so this is the Pink Mermaid.
04:05 It is dragon fruit, gummies, and lemonade.
04:09 It is five additional dollars.
04:12 Again, this is a kid's one.
04:14 So, like the ingredients are like pretty simple.
04:17 It's just like lemonade, dragon fruit, gummies,
04:19 where like the adult non-alcoholic beverages
04:22 have like orgeaux or a butterfly pea tea in it.
04:26 Like things that are just a little bit more sophisticated,
04:29 maybe a little bit too strong for like a kiddie palate.

10:45 Pirate in a coconut.
10:47 We have coconut rum, spiced rum, coconut water,
10:50 lemon, blueberries, and elderflower tonic.
10:52 So it melts really well with the coconut.
11:02 Like this is a very coconut forward drink.
11:06 You're getting the brightness from the berries,
11:08 but then like the creaminess from the coconut
11:10 and it's super refreshing.
11:11 And then the elderflower just has like that little
11:14 beat of like floral in it that you need to like
11:17 put all of the flavors together.
11:19 I don't wanna leave here.
11:21 There's so many cool spots on this ship.
11:26 And the next spot is probably gonna take the cake
11:28 for like what I think is super, super amazing about
11:32 Icon of the Sea.

11:49 This is Central Park, an open air neighborhood.
11:52 So you can see the top of the ship, you can see the sky.
11:55 There is 33,000 plants in this area.
12:00 Like so much plant life.
12:03 We're headed to one of their many brand new bars,
12:05 Alou's Jazz and Blues.
12:08 Let's go.

12:13 We have a B flat.
12:28 It is gin, Sousa, and vermouth.
12:30 It is a Negroni.
12:31 I've never like had Sousa before.
12:34 So I don't know what it tastes like.

12:54 When you come out of like flights of passage,
12:57 you get like this peppery smell.

14:21 So this is another neighborhood.
14:22 This is actually the Central Hub.
14:25 And right now we're at Schooner's,
14:27 Schooner's Bar.
14:29 Julia, what is a schooner?
14:31 - It's a sailing ship that has two or more men.
14:34 - Okay, so whenever we're on a cruise,
14:36 there's always a bar that's themed after like sea time stuff.
14:40 So schooner, it's a schooner bar.
14:42 It makes sense, we're on a ship.
14:43 This is a returnee favorite.
14:45 So this is one of the only locations we are going to
14:49 that has been on another ship.
14:50 But they don't just bring them back
14:51 'cause they're fan favorites.
14:53 They kind of change up the menu,
14:55 make it feel new and special to this particular ship.
14:58 And I have the peanut butter tropics.
15:00 It sounds like exactly what it is.
15:03 It is peanut butter whiskey, pineapple, and a lemon.
15:06 I don't know if those flavors go together in my brain.
15:10 They don't, but I'm gonna see if it tastes good.

15:23 I don't know if it's nutty, creamy,
15:26 but also like refreshing.
15:28 So you get the pineapple, you get the lemon.
15:31 It like cuts through the richness of the peanut butter.

15:35 I have my boyfriend with me and he loves peanut butter
15:37 whiskey, so I'm gonna let him taste it
15:40 and see how he likes it.

16:04 'cause it's beautiful over here.
16:05 So in the Royal Promenade is a lot of different restaurants
16:09 and bars.
16:10 Right next to me, we have the heart of the icon,
16:13 the beautiful, the Pearl.
16:16 She is the heart of the ship.
16:18 She takes up three different decks.
16:21 So the top of it is actually all the way up
16:24 in the central park deck.
16:26 It's so cool, but it's just like,
16:28 inside we have all these geometric shapes that move around.
16:32 The outside is shiny.
16:34 She shines at night, she shines in the day.
16:36 She's the Pearl.
16:37 She can't be explained.
16:38 She just has to be experienced.

16:43 We're in the Grove,
16:52 which is a part of the Sweet neighborhood.
16:54 It's an exclusive area that you can only come to
16:57 if you have a sweet.
16:58 This is like their grab and go area for this specific spot.
17:03 So they have a little bit of a rotating menu.
17:04 Sometimes it's a little bit different,
17:06 but we kept seeing this watermelon feta salad.
17:10 And I had to try it.
17:11 So it is watermelon, feta, balsamic vinegar, and pepitas.
17:16 Watermelon feta salad is always just like refreshing
17:19 and yummy and (laughs)
17:21 It's exactly what I thought it would be.
17:22 The watermelon's fresh, juicy.
17:24 You have feta on there, the pepitas give it
17:26 a nice little crunch.
17:27 So you get like sweet and like savory
17:31 and crunchy and salty all in the same bite.
17:34 And it's like the perfect portion size.
17:36 So it's just like a little bite on the way,
17:39 you know, to your next destination.
17:41 Maybe you're getting in the hot tub.
17:42 Maybe you're gonna go play a little basketball
17:45 on one of the top decks.
17:46 I don't know what you're gonna do.
17:47 You're gonna feel a little bit better.
17:50 So we got another little bite from the Grove.
17:53 This one is the grilled shrimp and spinach salad.
17:57 I just love the bowl.
17:58 It's so cute.
17:59 And two little cute shrimp.

18:03 shrimp is my favorite meat.
18:05 And yes, I consider it a meat.

18:17 it is very much seasoned.

18:24 The shrimp is cooked perfectly.
18:26 So soft, tender, seasoned well, but not overly seasoned.
18:32 The vinaigrette that's on it is so yummy.
18:36 And then I just had like a piece of orange with it.
18:39 And so it's like, brings those fruity,
18:41 fresh flavors that you want.
18:44 And I love how like this whole area is just kind of like,
18:47 it's a little, you know, it's a little, you know,
18:51 it's for the sweets.
18:52 It's for the very important customer.

18:57 So this neighborhood is exclusive.
18:59 So you have your private pool.

19:02 It's very quiet as opposed to other parts of the ship.
19:04 So like this neighborhood,
19:07 it feels like you're getting something special.

19:14 I really want to stay in this neighborhood.

21:37 This tastes like you took a slice of pepperoni pizza
21:42 cut it up and put it in some really good mac and cheese.
21:44 Like it has like that good pepperoni pizza
21:47 where like the pepperoni is really flavorful.
21:50 It got a little zest to it, a little spice to it.
21:53 The noodles are cooked perfectly.
21:55 They're soft, it's warm.

23:04 The aquadome, if you can imagine it right now,
23:07 this is dry, somehow, someway,

23:12 This whole thing becomes a pool
23:14 and then they do high dives all the way from the top
23:18 and it's amazing.
23:19 Then they like fall into the water
23:21 and then there's sometimes somebody in the water
23:23 and they grab them out of the water and it's acrobatics,
23:25 but diving at the same time with choreography and music
23:29 and synchronized swimming, it's insane.

23:38 This is a coffee bar.
23:42 It's all alcoholic drinks infused with coffee and tea
23:46 and I'm ready for an espresso martini.
23:48 See, they have coffee cocktails and tea cocktails
23:53 and zero proof and while that is great,
23:55 I will not be doing that.

23:59 All right, so we have our espresso martini.
24:05 I don't think I've ever had an espresso martini on the show.
24:09 We're making history here.
24:10 Okay, this one is made with Vodka Kahlua coffee
24:13 and simple syrup and they put a foam on top
24:16 and our bartender made sure to let me know
24:18 that the foam is non-dairy, which is awesome.
24:21 Let's try it.
24:22 This particular espresso martini comes out of a tap.
24:27 I have had it before at a different restaurant.
24:29 It tastes identical.
24:30 It's the same mix.
24:31 It's an espresso martini,
24:33 but a little bit sweeter than what you're used to.
24:36 I think the little bit sweeter espresso martinis
24:39 are really good for a crowd pleaser.
24:43 It's not too bitter for some people
24:44 who like more bitter coffee,
24:46 but it's not too sweet for people
24:47 who don't like super sweet drinks.
24:50 It's right in the middle and then the foam on top
24:52 is what sends it over.
24:54 It's what makes it extra creamy.
24:56 I feel like espresso martinis are the perfect
24:59 pre-going out drink.
25:02 You get your caffeine, you get a little boozy
25:05 and you're ready to go.
25:06 I bullied Julia into adding another cocktail.

25:13 about a chai tea old fashioned
25:16 and I love chai tea and I love old fashioned.
25:19 So I was like, Julia, please,

25:24 It is chai tea, bourbon and cardamom bitters.
25:28 Oh, it smells so warm and cinnamony and cardamony
25:33 and chai tea has all of those cozy spices
25:39 so this feels like a cozy drink,
25:41 but it has a giant ice cube in it so it's cold
25:44 and I'm ready to sip it.
25:45 Oh, okay.
25:49 It takes you on a journey, right?
25:51 Like a good cup of tea should.
25:53 So immediately you just get old fashioned.
25:57 Like you're like, oh, this is a regular old fashioned.
25:59 Where's the chai tea?

26:03 you get like all of the flavors of the chai tea
26:06 like melding around in your mouth.
26:08 It's such an experience and if you like old fashioned,
26:12 I definitely highly, highly recommend trying this
