00:02 An amber weather warning for snow is in place for Derbyshire today.
00:06 The Met Office warning runs from noon until 6pm,
00:10 with a further yellow warning for snow in place until 6am on Friday.
00:13 A number of schools across Derbyshire are closed today,
00:17 and snow is expected to cause travel disruption across the Peak District.
00:20 Travel delays are likely on roads, stranding some vehicles and passengers,
00:24 according to the Met Office warning.
00:26 Some delays and cancellations to rail travel are also likely.
00:30 The Met Office adds that there is a good chance that some rural
00:32 commuters could become cut off temporarily, and power cuts are also possible.
