00:00:34 In ancient Egypt, before the time of the Pharos,
00:00:39 legend tells of King Memtep, who made a covenant with Anubis,
00:00:45 Lord of the Underworld, to create a cursed sword so powerful
00:00:51 that whoever possessed it could rule the world.
00:00:56 Fueled by taking the souls of its enemies,
00:01:00 the sword was forged in the fires of hell by the Lord of the Underworld,
00:01:06 who gave this sword his very name, the Fang of Anubis.
00:01:12 The names of those slain by the sword were forever etched in the Book of Souls,
00:01:18 where they remained imprisoned for all eternity,
00:01:22 condemned to never-ending darkness.
00:01:27 But if evil can be so easily created in a fiery forge,
00:01:32 then surely there must be a way to destroy the sword and release the souls.

00:02:56 These hieroglyphs are ancient. It looks like they are from...
00:03:00 Mesopotamia. Sumerian.

00:03:47 Here lies the treasure you seek.
00:03:50 The Fang Memtep.
00:03:54 Before you plunder the antiquities of this tomb, you must know,
00:04:00 unleashing this evil that once was will come with a great price.
00:04:05 Power is not given, Priestess. It must be taken.

00:04:39 The Fang of Anubis, forgotten to time.
00:04:46 But the ages have not dulled your cutting edge, have they?
00:04:51 [Music]
00:05:15 Neb Zirak went forth, sweeping across the barren lands with the Fang of Anubis at his command.
00:05:24 Driven by its dark magic, he conquered his enemies and raised a powerful jackal army,
00:05:30 proclaiming himself their god-king.
00:05:32 We will cleanse this land with death and fire!
00:05:37 But one enemy eluded him, the Last Akkadian,
00:05:40 the sole heir to the Great Free Tribe who destroyed his people in a war waged long ago.
00:05:47 Branded by vengeance, Neb Zirak became obsessed with finding his enemy.
00:05:53 Have your bird find the Scorpion King, Priestess.
00:05:56 The gods will grant you your vengeance in time.
00:05:58 The time for vengeance is now.
00:06:01 Send the bird.

00:06:07 But some sleeping giants are better left to their slumber.

00:06:25 [Sound of a fire]
00:06:47 It's beautiful.
00:06:50 A stroll. That's what counts.
00:06:55 With this you can harvest the winter wheat, reap the summer grain, feed your family and livestock.
00:07:02 Not much left in this world you can put your faith in, but forged metal, pounded into shape.
00:07:08 This you can trust.
00:07:13 [Sound of a sword being drawn]
00:07:16 When will you make a sword?
00:07:19 Done with swords.
00:07:21 I could learn to use them to become a great warrior.
00:07:25 Abel!
00:07:30 Listen to me, Abel.
00:07:32 Being a warrior is not what you think.
00:07:34 Swinging a sword in war is a hard burden to bear.
00:07:37 No priest or gods can save you from the savagery of battle.
00:07:40 Understand?
00:07:44 Abel!
00:07:48 Go to your father.

00:09:53 We have no king here.
00:09:55 He calls himself Matthias.
00:09:58 We know of no such man.
00:10:01 Burn it to the ground and find him.
00:10:04 Please. We're just farmers.
00:10:10 Kill him first.
00:10:12 [Laughter]
00:10:13 No! No! Wait!

00:16:22 Here, drink this.
00:16:31 What is that?
00:16:32 A medicinal tonic mixed with lithops for pain.
00:16:36 You're welcome.
00:16:38 You need food.
00:16:46 [Music]
00:17:07 Scorpion King escaped.
00:17:10 Bend your knee when you speak to me.
00:17:16 Escaped?
00:17:17 Yes. He had help when my god came.
00:17:23 I need his soul.
00:17:25 You have been lied to.
00:17:27 No.
00:17:28 Only when I plunge this blade into his heart will I have my vengeance.
00:17:33 Find me the circadian.
00:17:41 Cover yourself.
00:17:46 Where did you dig that up?
00:17:48 Burial mound. The man who wore it did not need it anymore.
00:17:55 I am Tala, warrior of Nubia.
00:18:00 What do you want from me?
00:18:02 A legendary king to come back to life.
00:18:08 I'm just a blacksmith.
00:18:10 Blacksmith. That is your story.
00:18:13 How did a legendary scorpion king, last of the Arcadians, demigod, become a blacksmith?
00:18:23 Civilization became too uncivilized for me.
00:18:26 I have searched for you for a long time.
00:18:31 Your name inspires. It is a rallying cry.
00:18:35 My people need a hero to bring peace. A warrior hero.
00:18:41 Like I said, you got the wrong guy.
00:18:46 My father was Balthazar, king of Nubia.
00:18:50 Balthazar?
00:18:53 He lived well. But not long enough.
00:18:59 Sari is gone.
00:19:02 My father told me that you two had a great bond.
00:19:05 That if Nubia ever needed an ally, the scorpion king would ride from the east with his armies and fight with us.
00:19:15 I have no army.
00:19:16 You have your strength. And you have me.
00:19:22 A princess?
00:19:24 A warrior.
00:19:28 Do you know Nevzirek, the warlord? Sweeps across Egypt with his hordes, enslaving, burning.
00:19:35 He wields a cursed sword, the Fang of Anubis.
00:19:38 No one can stand against him while he possesses it.
00:19:41 But legend tells of a way to defeat the sword.
00:19:45 The secret is contained in the Book of Souls.
00:19:48 It is a hidden text, and I know where to find it.
00:19:52 Sounds like a bedtime story.
00:19:54 Nevzirek marches on Nubia. On my people.
00:19:59 With the Book of Souls, we can stop him.
00:20:02 You're on a quest.
00:20:04 Yes.
00:20:06 Good luck.
00:20:09 You are coming with me.
00:20:12 I don't quest.
00:20:14 Why?
00:20:15 There are always a thousand times more difficult than you think.
00:20:19 And someone will make it back alive.
00:20:28 The jackal is Nevzirek's symbol.
00:20:31 We share the same enemy.
00:20:33 Help me find the Book of Souls, and I will help you kill the owner of the dagger.
00:20:42 I'll take both.
00:20:49 You were born a warrior.
00:20:51 It is your fate to fight for those less fortunate souls.
00:20:56 Stand or fall, I will fight by your side.
00:21:02 I implore you.
00:21:04 Remember who you are.
00:21:29 This man you seek?
00:21:32 The Scorpion King travels with the Nubian.
00:21:41 And they are close.
00:21:43 Close to what?
00:21:44 Legend tells of a gateway in the valley of the 13th moon, where it is said the Book of Souls rests, hidden away from all mankind.
00:21:53 He who possesses the Book of Souls has the power to destroy the Fang of Anubis.
00:22:00 These signs have been searched by many hands for many years.
00:22:04 Searched, yes.
00:22:06 But not by the Scorpion again.
00:22:11 [Scraping]
00:22:15 [Scraping]
00:22:36 We should go around.
00:22:38 The valley of the 13th moon is a half-day's ride away. Going around is a day out of our way.
00:22:43 You don't want to go in there.
00:22:44 I must. We can't be late.
00:22:47 Late for what?
00:22:48 The final day of this lunar cycle.
00:22:51 The moon can wait.
00:22:52 I've waited 36 moons for this rising.
00:22:56 Ha! Ha!
00:23:17 Why are we stopping here, blacksmith?
00:23:19 [Horse whinnying]
00:23:22 Put your weapons down.
00:23:23 There's nobody here.
00:23:24 Yes, there is. Drop your weapons now.
00:23:27 Forgive her! She can't see!
00:23:30 Who are you talking to?
00:23:32 [Scraping]
00:23:44 The Black Arrows.
00:23:46 They weren't trying to hit us.
00:23:47 If they were, we'd be dead.
00:23:55 [Horse whinnying]
00:24:01 [Scraping]
00:24:22 [Laughing]
00:24:25 [Soldiers chanting]
00:24:35 [Scraping]
00:24:41 Told you we should have gone around.
00:24:47 You trespass on our sacred lands, and for this you must die.
00:24:53 Men know and so.
00:24:55 The territory is marked.
00:24:57 You chose to ignore the warning.
00:25:01 How did a woman, very beautiful woman, fall in with hard vein like this? Tell me.
00:25:09 He's my father's blacksmith.
00:25:11 A blacksmith and a breeder.
00:25:14 [Laughing]
00:25:16 Excellent.
00:25:18 Can you cook? Cook? Can you cook?
00:25:21 I'm a Nubian warrior.
00:25:24 Yes, I can cook.
00:25:26 I will give you two wild pigs and five amphoras of pomegranate wine for her.
00:25:34 Five wild pigs and ten amphoras?
00:25:36 Oh, no, no, no.
00:25:39 I thought you were going to kill him.
00:25:42 I am.
00:25:44 But after I do, I will take you for my own.
00:25:51 Feed him to the wastelands.
00:25:53 He will drink to his death with my wine.
00:25:58 I'm not for sale, and I'm not a breeder.
00:26:02 [Laughing]
00:26:04 [Speaking in Nubian]
00:26:20 The Shaman says you are from the land of the East.
00:26:24 The Scorpion King is what you are called.
00:26:29 Just a blacksmith.
00:26:31 This is what I said. You are very small to be such a legendary warrior.
00:26:37 So how do you want it?
00:26:39 I can split your skulls with an axe and stick them on a spike.
00:26:43 You can burn on a fire, or I can lash you to a stump.
00:26:49 Like the vultures and insects have you.
00:26:53 What is your name, warrior?
00:26:55 I am Uruk, son of Kale, leader of the Black Arrows, and people of the sand.
00:27:04 Chieftain Uruk.
00:27:09 Your people are hunters, are they not?
00:27:13 So give me the same chance to live as any beast.
00:27:18 You are not a beast, you are a man.
00:27:20 Yes.
00:27:22 I bleed red, like you. And like you, I'd rather die on my feet than my knees.
00:27:27 I will only send four men to kill you.
00:27:32 Better make it five.
00:27:35 When this hunt is done, and I'm still alive, you let me keep the girl, and we ride free.
00:27:47 Agreed.
00:27:52 What did I tell you about quests?
00:28:08 Come on.
00:28:11 When you reach that arrow, we will hunt you.
00:28:30 Run fast, blacksmith, or your death will be slow.
00:28:37 Run!
00:28:39 Run!
00:29:00 Run!
00:29:02 Run!
00:29:04 Run!
00:29:06 Run!
00:29:25 Run!
00:29:27 Run!
00:29:29 Run!
00:29:31 Run!
00:29:34 Run!
00:29:37 Run!
00:29:39 Run!
00:29:41 Run!
00:29:44 Run!
00:29:46 Run!
00:29:48 Run!
00:29:50 Run!
00:29:53 Run!
00:29:55 Run!
00:29:57 Run!
00:29:59 Run!
00:30:01 Run!
00:30:03 Run!
00:30:05 Run!

00:30:25 Run!
00:30:27 Run!
00:30:49 Run!
00:30:53 Run!
00:30:55 Run!
00:31:23 Arnik!
00:31:25 Drop it! Drop it!
00:31:45 Drop it!
00:31:47 You are a worthy adversary, Alkirian.
00:31:56 You could have killed me and my men, as we would have surely killed you.
00:32:02 But you chose mercy.
00:32:06 There'll be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy.
00:32:14 I've got pigs and some wine. That's all I fetch in your simple mind.
00:32:20 You never taste a pomegranate wine.
00:32:24 Run!
00:32:26 Run!
00:32:51 There it is. The Valley of the Thirteenth Moon.
00:32:55 Tell me about the Book of Souls.
00:32:57 It is said to be guarded by the Temple of Scrolls.
00:33:00 It can only be entered on the eve of the Blue Moon.
00:33:03 Once every three years on the lunar cycle. That is tonight.
00:33:07 How do you know all this?
00:33:09 My family has been the guardian of this book since before the pharaohs.
00:33:14 Passing it down from generation to generation.
00:33:17 No one's been there or seen this book because we've never needed it until now.
00:33:22 Before he passed, my father entrusted me with this guardianship.
00:33:27 As fate would have it, he didn't have time to tell me much about the book.
00:33:31 Are you sure it's down there?
00:33:33 The prophecy says it is.
00:33:36 Someone's just going to ride down there, walk through the front door, and they're going to give you this book?
00:33:41 It's not exactly a door. It's more of a gateway.
00:33:46 [Music]
00:33:49 [Music]
00:33:53 [Music]
00:33:56 [Music]
00:34:05 [Music]
00:34:16 [Music]
00:34:43 Doesn't look like a Temple of Scrolls to me.
00:34:46 It's an ancient writing.
00:34:48 The one that repeats its form.
00:34:51 Sumerian. Not so different than the language I learned as a boy.
00:34:56 The moon repeats its form every thirty days.
00:34:59 The Blue Moon repeats its form every three years after the summer solstice.
00:35:03 We found it.
00:35:06 We found a stone gateway.
00:35:11 In the middle of nowhere.
00:35:14 Leading to nothing.
00:35:17 We must hurry. It's almost nightfall.
00:35:19 We can't miss the moonrise.
00:35:22 What does your scroll say?
00:35:27 After you pass the Moonstone Threshold, take four hundred paces just east of north.
00:35:33 This way.
00:35:39 [Music]
00:35:42 And now?
00:36:06 Don't rush me. It's my first time doing this.
00:36:10 [Music]
00:36:13 Moon's rising.
00:36:25 [Music]
00:36:28 [Music]
00:36:31 Let's do this, blacksmith.
00:36:42 [Music]
00:36:45 The lenses must align with a cipher. A combination.
00:36:57 I'm looking.
00:37:00 The one that repeats its form.
00:37:08 That's the cipher.
00:37:11 The one that repeats its form.
00:37:13 It's what's written on the gateway.
00:37:16 [Music]
00:37:20 [Music]
00:37:23 [Music]
00:37:33 [Music]
00:37:46 [Music]
00:37:49 Let's go. It won't stay open for long.
00:38:03 [Music]
00:38:07 [Music]
00:38:10 What is that?
00:38:22 Quicksilver. Nature's guide against evil.
00:38:26 [Music]
00:38:30 [Music]
00:38:33 [Music]
00:38:39 [Music]
00:38:51 [Music]
00:38:57 [Music]
00:39:00 I hate quests.
00:39:13 [Music]
00:39:16 [Music]
00:39:24 [Music]
00:39:27 Blacksmith.
00:39:31 This way.
00:39:34 [Music]
00:39:37 [Music]
00:39:50 [Music]
00:39:53 [Music]
00:40:02 [Music]
00:40:10 [Music]
00:40:19 [Music]
00:40:22 Tell me you know what this magic book looks like.
00:40:26 It could be a scroll on vellum.
00:40:29 Written in codex form.
00:40:32 Perhaps a tome.
00:40:34 Maybe papyrus books scribbled in burnt bones.
00:40:38 So you're saying you have no idea, right?
00:40:42 Yes. That is what I'm saying.
00:40:46 [Music]
00:40:49 [Music]
00:41:07 [Music]
00:41:14 [Music]
00:41:17 Ouch. Not fair.
00:41:25 [Music]
00:41:28 Enkidu. Enough.
00:41:41 [Music]
00:41:44 [Music]
00:41:55 [Music]
00:42:04 [Music]
00:42:07 These people opened the portal with the lunar scroll.
00:42:14 They are not our foe.
00:42:16 They aren't! One of them attacked me unfairly from behind.
00:42:21 I am sure they meant no harm.
00:42:25 I am Tala, daughter of Balthazar, warrior of Nubia.
00:42:33 We have come for the Book of Souls.
00:42:36 Have you?
00:42:39 And you've brought a brute.
00:42:55 A barbarian.
00:42:58 [Music]
00:43:01 You're Akkadian.
00:43:07 What is that thing?
00:43:11 I'm not a thing.
00:43:13 A golem.
00:43:14 Stupid human.
00:43:16 Enkidu is born from clay.
00:43:19 Brought to life by magic.
00:43:21 My father made him to be my protector.
00:43:24 I have the strength of Tango.
00:43:28 [Music]
00:43:31 Maybe twenty.
00:43:34 I bet you wouldn't sell her for five pigs and some pomegranate wine.
00:43:47 Barbarian.
00:43:51 [Music]
00:43:54 Pretty human.

00:44:07 [Music]
00:44:10 So you've come for the Book of Souls.
00:44:28 Yes. My people are in peril.
00:44:31 We need it to vanquish a warlord who leads his army across Egypt.
00:44:36 He carries a cursed sword.
00:44:38 None can stand against it.
00:44:42 I have nothing on how to defeat a cursed sword.
00:44:45 But the legend says the book is here.
00:44:48 You must help us.
00:44:50 We are running out of time.
00:44:53 I'm sorry.
00:44:55 There is nothing here for you.
00:44:58 The book is here.
00:45:01 I have many scrolls, Akkadian.
00:45:05 Some co-dices.
00:45:07 Some tomes.
00:45:09 I have read them all.
00:45:11 Committed them to memory.
00:45:14 But I have not a single book.
00:45:17 Talha.
00:45:21 What does your scroll say about this Book of Souls?
00:45:25 The scroll says the Book of Souls is written on Vellum of Alabaster.
00:45:33 The body of its forbidden text is uncovered in the blue light of the moon.
00:45:38 [Music]
00:45:41 Vellum of Alabaster.
00:46:01 The body of its forbidden text is uncovered only in the blue light of the moon.
00:46:09 You!
00:46:11 No.
00:46:13 It's...
00:46:21 you.
00:46:24 [Music]
00:46:27 [Music]
00:46:54 You are the Book of Souls.
00:46:57 The moonlight reveals the text.
00:47:07 Yes.
00:47:10 It is revealed in the third moon in a season of four moons.
00:47:16 Seven times in the 19-year metonic cycle.
00:47:20 What's written here?
00:47:22 Names of souls.
00:47:25 Taken by a sword forged in the underworld by a new-ves.
00:47:29 Do you know who they are?
00:47:32 Yes.
00:47:34 With every soul the sword takes,
00:47:37 I can hear their screams.
00:47:40 See their faces.
00:47:43 Some fates are worse than death.

00:48:18 [Music]
00:48:46 I have no quarrel with you, Chieftain Orek.
00:48:49 I seek the Book of Souls in the valley of the 13th moon.
00:48:53 Your jackal bellies are never full, are they?
00:48:58 Whatever the Arcadian paid for passage, King Nebzarek will triple it.
00:49:04 He paid with courage and respect.
00:49:08 Give us passage and you will be spared.
00:49:12 And your groundsnot will crush you.
00:49:16 We are people of the sand.
00:49:25 Sand cannot be crushed.
00:49:28 It can only change its form.
00:49:32 [Screaming]
00:49:35 [Music]
00:49:38 [Music]
00:49:41 You're going to pay for that.
00:49:49 That was my favorite table.
00:49:52 It's my only table.
00:49:54 Shouldn't have broke it then.
00:49:56 Purely human.
00:49:57 My father was a great Cimmerian mage.
00:50:00 He brought me here before I could even walk.
00:50:03 He told me very little about my curse.
00:50:05 You have no idea how to defeat this curse.
00:50:08 The sword was found in King Memtep's tomb beneath a city called Ammonesh.
00:50:13 Your quest must take you there.
00:50:16 The secret lies within King Memtep's tomb.
00:50:20 All right, then.
00:50:25 We will go to Ammonesh and break this curse.
00:50:29 First Command, King Umriah here.
00:50:33 Forever!
00:50:35 [Growling]
00:50:38 [Gunshot]
00:50:40 [Music]
00:50:43 I hate this purely human.
00:50:47 There is a trade route that leads to the city of Aqaba.
00:50:50 There is a port here.
00:50:52 You can hire a boat to cross the sea to Ammonesh.
00:50:54 [Growling]
00:50:55 Amina likes it.
00:50:57 This life...
00:50:58 Is ugly.
00:50:59 Has behind it that.
00:51:02 I have escaped the pain of the living.
00:51:05 Energized?
00:51:07 Yes.
00:51:10 It is more a burden than a blessing.
00:51:13 [Growling]
00:51:17 Come with us into the world.
00:51:20 There is nothing more I would love than to see your world through my own eyes.
00:51:24 [Growling]
00:51:28 But I'm afraid that's not possible.
00:51:32 And if I can make it possible?
00:51:37 It's got muscles, but they fight.
00:51:39 I think I found a short-arm.
00:51:41 No fire! No fire!
00:51:43 Put it out!
00:51:44 No fire!
00:51:45 No fire!
00:51:46 It's gone.
00:51:47 Enkidu, don't be afraid.
00:51:48 Don't be afraid.
00:51:49 The fire's gone?
00:51:50 Yes.
00:51:51 I forgot to tell them.
00:51:52 And I'm still here.
00:51:54 Calm yourself, Enkidu.
00:52:00 I hate fire.
00:52:01 Enkidu cannot abide fire.
00:52:04 Not even the smallest of flames.
00:52:09 [Gunshot]
00:52:11 It's okay.
00:52:13 [Growling]
00:52:16 They were humans!
00:52:18 [Growling]
00:52:20 [Whistle]
00:52:28 They are too far ahead of us.
00:52:30 We need to split up.
00:52:33 There's only two ways out of that valley, and we'll shut them both off.
00:52:37 Ride the Silk Road to where the dunes meet the sea.
00:52:40 We have been riding all night.
00:52:41 The men, the horses, then he rest.
00:52:44 You will ride until the horse's heart stop beating in their chest.
00:52:47 And then you will go on foot, crawling if you must, until I get what I came for.
00:52:55 [Whistle]
00:52:57 [Grunting]
00:53:08 Enkidu.
00:53:09 What do you want, barbarian?
00:53:13 To show you something.
00:53:20 I've seen this tunnel many times.
00:53:24 I don't like this tunnel.
00:53:26 I've never liked tunnels.
00:53:27 It's dark.
00:53:28 I can't like the dark.
00:53:30 [Growling]
00:53:32 Not the way! Not the way!
00:53:34 Amina! Amina!
00:53:37 Amina!
00:53:39 Amina!
00:53:40 We must go! It won't last long!
00:53:42 Amina! Amina!
00:53:45 Don't leave! Don't go!
00:53:48 [Growling]
00:53:50 [Screaming]
00:53:57 [Growling]
00:54:26 [Tires screeching]
00:54:32 Let's ride.

00:55:01 [Screaming]
00:55:08 [Music]
00:55:29 [Music]
00:55:46 The horse is arrested and we need to keep moving.
00:55:49 One more minute.
00:55:52 The sea is beautiful.
00:55:55 I can hear the voices whispering from ancient shores.
00:56:02 I can taste the salt.
00:56:06 I hope Enkidu will be all right without me.
00:56:10 We've never been apart.
00:56:15 How does such a creature have the mortal fear of fire?
00:56:19 Enkidu is clay.
00:56:21 The manifestation of fire can turn him to stone.
00:56:33 You're an unexpected surprise, Akkadian.
00:56:37 As are you, Amina.
00:56:57 [Music]
00:57:14 Scorpion King!
00:57:23 I'll take the two on the right.
00:57:25 That leaves me the seven on the left.
00:57:27 Exactly.
00:57:28 You have a book my master desires!
00:57:32 I don't read books.
00:57:34 Give it to me, Akkadian, and I give you my word.
00:57:37 I will not leave you butchered and cleaved.
00:57:39 I will give you a death worthy of a Scorpion King.
00:57:44 I've turned down that same offer many times before.
00:57:49 But you are one.
00:57:51 We are many.
00:57:53 We are two.
00:57:57 The woman!
00:58:02 The woman!
00:58:04 The woman!
00:58:06 All right.
00:58:07 I'll take the three on the right.
00:58:09 Fair enough!
00:58:22 [Music]
00:58:48 [Music]
00:58:58 [Music]
00:59:08 [Music]
00:59:21 Charlotte, get Amina out of here!
00:59:25 Amina! Amina!
00:59:54 [Music]
01:00:01 I'm going to smash you!
01:00:12 Well done, Scorpion King!
01:00:23 Pinkidoo, no!
01:00:25 They're just horses.
01:00:26 We don't hurt them.
01:00:31 That Akkadian, he stole you.
01:00:34 No one stole me.
01:00:36 I left.
01:00:37 You only have two commands now.
01:00:39 Protect me and obey me.
01:00:42 Not like that in your books, is it?
01:00:50 I don't like it.
01:00:55 [Music]
01:01:05 [Music]
01:01:15 [Music]
01:01:42 Aqaba.
01:01:43 A city.
01:01:44 So many people.
01:01:45 How do we hire a boat to cross the sea?
01:01:48 We sell the horses.
01:01:49 [Music]
01:02:18 [Music]
01:02:40 Don't talk to anyone.
01:02:42 We're not here to trade in gossip.
01:02:43 I will not speak to these strange people because I do not know them and I have nothing to say.
01:02:48 You.
01:02:49 Don't talk at all.
01:02:51 I like to talk.
01:02:53 [Music]
01:03:13 Pinkidoo, no!
01:03:14 You filthy creature!
01:03:16 Did you think?
01:03:30 Sell the horses.
01:03:31 Get to the port.
01:03:32 Hire a boat.
01:03:33 Cross the sea to Ammanesh.
01:03:34 I'll meet you at the tomb.
01:03:54 [Music]
01:04:22 Scorpion King.
01:04:26 I'm going to lock in for you.
01:04:28 Here I am.
01:04:30 [Music]
01:04:44 [Music]
01:05:02 Pinkidoo, take Amina.
01:05:03 I'll meet you at the port.
01:05:04 That way.
01:05:21 Get him!
01:05:23 I want him alive!
01:05:40 Go!
01:06:09 You're going to bleed and you're going to die.
01:06:15 [Music]
01:06:41 Stop!
01:06:46 Come on!
01:07:03 Come on!
01:07:04 Stop!
01:07:05 Stop!
01:07:06 [Music]
01:07:16 I told you to stay with Amina.
01:07:18 And I have to save your life again.
01:07:21 Men!
01:07:42 [Music]
01:08:05 Talker!
01:08:06 King Doctor.
01:08:08 Son of Balthazar.
01:08:17 [Music]
01:08:42 The King of Nubia.
01:08:44 He's your brother.
01:08:47 Yes.
01:08:49 Talk.
01:08:50 Son of Balthazar.
01:08:52 The King Warrior.
01:08:56 He died fighting for his people.
01:08:59 With honor and dignity.
01:09:19 Let me carry this burden for you.
01:09:22 For you have much to accomplish on this quest.
01:09:37 I am the sole heir of Nubia, Blacksmith.
01:09:41 I am a queen with no kingdom.
01:09:47 Now I know your pain.
01:09:59 I am sorry for your loss.
01:10:04 But your choice is a simple one.
01:10:07 You can fight on.
01:10:08 Avenge your brother and your people.
01:10:11 And maybe you will die.
01:10:14 Or you can turn back now.
01:10:16 Make a new life for yourself.
01:10:20 But when you leave this world, and years from now,
01:10:24 give a full account of your life here,
01:10:28 what story would you like history to remember?
01:10:38 This is what you meant about quest.
01:10:46 [thunder]

01:10:52 [thunder]
01:10:55 [music]
01:11:24 [music]
01:11:29 So you're the famous Scorpion King.
01:11:31 Someone I used to be.
01:11:33 But someday you may regain your kingdom, build it anew.
01:11:37 There's nothing left of my kingdom.
01:11:41 In Aqaba you saw somebody you wanted to kill.
01:11:44 And in killing that person you'd have likely been killed.
01:11:48 Yes.
01:11:50 She killed someone very close to me.
01:11:53 There are many stories about vengeance.
01:11:57 There is honor in payback.
01:12:01 [music]
01:12:04 [music]
01:12:12 The lost city of Amun-Ash.
01:12:15 [music]
01:12:36 Enkiru, you will have to wait for us here.
01:12:39 I cannot protect you if I'm not with you.
01:12:43 And I cannot obey you if I cannot hear you.
01:12:47 But we'll have torches in there.
01:12:49 No flames!
01:12:51 But there's no other way.
01:12:53 I may have another way.
01:12:56 But you'll have to trust me.
01:12:58 [thunder]
01:13:00 [music]
01:13:20 A tomb. I hate tombs.
01:13:23 [thunder]
01:13:28 Don't let the fire touch me!
01:13:30 Is the fire touching me?
01:13:31 No. It's not touching you.
01:13:35 Come in, kid.
01:13:37 [heavy breathing]
01:13:41 [thunder]
01:13:44 No fire! No fire!
01:13:46 Hermena! Hermena!
01:13:48 Don't leave me!
01:13:49 Stop. It's okay.
01:13:52 It's okay.
01:13:54 [thunder]
01:14:00 [music]
01:14:04 King Memtap.
01:14:07 This inscription's just details of his life.
01:14:11 The tomb builders would have never carved this secret text
01:14:14 on how to break the curse of Anubis
01:14:16 on the walls for robbers to easily decipher.
01:14:20 It would have been hidden or concealed in the funerary artifacts.
01:14:26 In the sarcophagus?
01:14:29 No. That's where the sword was found.
01:14:32 It would have been separated.
01:14:34 Everything's been plundered and robbed.
01:14:37 [thunder]
01:14:40 The Sphinx.
01:14:44 An idol full of secrets and mystery.
01:14:47 [music]
01:14:50 The Guardian of Knowledge.
01:14:52 The Sphinx dies for truth.
01:14:54 This is an Andro-Sphinx,
01:14:57 the male of the species,
01:14:59 known as the Messenger of Truth.
01:15:02 [music]
01:15:05 Break it open.

01:15:10 [thunder]
01:15:12 [music]
01:15:15 [groaning]
01:15:17 I'll give it right back.
01:15:19 Okay.
01:15:21 Okay, I'll bring it back, I promise.
01:15:23 Bring it back.

01:16:00 [music]
01:16:03 [music]
01:16:06 It's a history written in Sumerian.
01:16:09 Yes.
01:16:11 These hieroglyphs say King Memtep was beset by enemies on all sides.
01:16:15 He called out to the god of the underworld,
01:16:18 who forged a sword to steal the souls of his enemies,
01:16:21 giving King Memtep strength and power beyond measure.
01:16:25 And the king grew terrible in his might,
01:16:27 for he was cursed and tormented by the screams of the tortured souls.
01:16:33 King Memtep returned to Ammonesh to find his royal concubine had birthed a girl child.
01:16:38 His daughter's skin bore the names of those slain by the sword.
01:16:43 Anubis told King Memtep the only way to end the curse
01:16:46 was to destroy the Book of Souls with the sword.
01:16:49 It was the god's cruel trick that to save himself,
01:16:52 the king must end the curse by killing his only daughter.
01:16:56 But a powerful mage saved the girl, stealing her away forever.
01:17:01 And King Memtep went mad from the curse,
01:17:05 driving the sword into his own heart,
01:17:08 so entering his own name into the Book of Souls.
01:17:12 King Memtep was your father?
01:17:21 The mage I thought was my father raised me as his own.
01:17:28 He meant to protect me.
01:17:32 That's impossible.
01:17:34 That would make you...
01:17:35 I have lived for centuries.
01:17:37 And I will live for countless millennia more.
01:17:41 The only way to break the curse of Anubis is to...
01:17:47 I must be destroyed by the sword.
01:17:51 The Book of Souls must be destroyed,
01:17:55 and the souls freed.
01:17:57 And I am the Book of Souls.
01:18:03 The Book of Souls, hidden in the body of a beautiful woman.
01:18:29 Men are simple, aren't they?
01:18:34 I'm not a man.
01:18:37 [thud]
01:18:39 [slicing]
01:18:41 [slicing]
01:18:47 [slicing]
01:18:53 [slicing]

01:19:08 This is Gorgiom King.
01:19:14 [men laughing]
01:19:16 [train horn]
01:19:41 [men laughing]
01:20:09 I've sedated him.
01:20:11 This is the Scorpion King everyone whispers about.
01:20:15 Legends always start with a whisper.
01:20:18 Hm.
01:20:30 He doesn't look like very much in these chains.
01:20:33 Before I take his head off his shoulders.
01:20:38 Let's see how he fights.
01:20:40 Alert me when he wakes from his slumber.
01:20:45 Are you sure this is wise?
01:20:47 Kill him now and be done with it.
01:20:49 He's already half-dead, Priestess.
01:20:54 Half-dead men are dangerous, especially a man like this.
01:20:59 The jackals want to see this great warrior killed in battle.
01:21:04 We must satiate their bloodlust.
01:21:08 He is weak and wounded.
01:21:12 And no match for this sword.
01:21:16 [roaring]
01:21:18 [roaring]
01:21:35 Princess Tala.
01:21:37 I am your queen now.
01:21:45 If called, are the men ready to fight?
01:21:51 The men will fight, my queen.
01:21:53 What is this?
01:22:01 The Book of Souls.
01:22:03 Written on ancient vellum.
01:22:06 Illuminated in the blue light of the evening sun.
01:22:10 Such beauty.
01:22:13 So you thought to defeat me by destroying the sword and with it my power.
01:22:23 I see you're a book with a will of your own.
01:22:26 Such contempt in your eyes.
01:22:30 Burn the bitch.
01:22:36 [roaring]
01:22:39 Such contempt in your eyes.
01:22:43 Burn the bitch.
01:22:47 [roaring]
01:22:50 [chattering]
01:22:52 [roaring]
01:23:06 [chattering]
01:23:08 [roaring]
01:23:22 Rise, blacksmith.
01:23:25 Become the Scorpion King again.
01:23:29 We honor the covenant
01:23:32 between the god of the underworld, Anubis,
01:23:35 and the bearer of his sword,
01:23:37 our god, King Nebzareth.
01:23:40 [chanting]
01:23:42 Here, on this sacred grounds,
01:23:47 we gather at the sacrificial fire
01:23:50 to put forth our pledge of allegiance.
01:23:52 Remember who you are, Scorpion King.
01:23:55 Demigod, the last Arcadian.
01:23:59 [chanting]
01:24:02 [chanting]
01:24:05 [chanting]
01:24:08 [chanting]
01:24:10 [chanting]
01:24:13 [chanting]
01:24:15 [chanting]
01:24:17 [chanting]
01:24:19 [chanting]
01:24:46 Written in the prophecies,
01:24:48 the book of Saul shall burn and be thus destroyed.
01:24:52 Let no man stand against us!
01:24:54 I am one man!
01:24:56 But one can stand against many...
01:25:02 for a friend.
01:25:07 [shouting]
01:25:15 Calm your blades, Jackals.
01:25:18 He's mine.
01:25:22 How was your sleep, Scorpion King?
01:25:34 I'm just a blacksmith.
01:25:37 I admire a man who stands tall,
01:25:40 even when he's overmatched.
01:25:44 The time for chanting has not yet come.
01:25:46 Enkidu, it's time.
01:25:49 I did not protect Mia. I failed her.
01:25:53 We have not failed.
01:25:55 [snarls]
01:25:56 Not yet.
01:25:57 [snarls]
01:25:58 You stand on the ruins of my people,
01:26:04 broken many years ago by your Arcadian Empire.
01:26:09 We were forced to live like jackals,
01:26:12 eating scraps to survive.
01:26:15 But one jackal was not prepared to slink away
01:26:20 and grow old, starving and defeated.
01:26:24 I dug deep, deep into the sand,
01:26:38 and found the one thing that can rebuild an empire.
01:26:43 Ruled by an eater of souls.
01:26:46 With this sword, I am invincible!
01:26:50 [chanting]
01:26:53 You fear no man.
01:26:56 I fear no man.
01:26:58 I have faith in you, Enkidu.
01:27:00 Show me who you are.
01:27:03 This is your time.
01:27:05 This is your moment.
01:27:08 Amina needs you.
01:27:10 [snarls]
01:27:11 On my command.
01:27:14 Unleash hell.
01:27:16 [chanting]
01:27:20 [chanting]
01:27:23 No!
01:27:38 [snarls]
01:27:46 [chanting]
01:27:49 You must believe!
01:27:54 I cannot burn!
01:27:58 You cannot burn!
01:28:00 Break it down!
01:28:02 [screams]
01:28:03 Amina, untie me!
