00:44 It depends on the negotiation, but usually, all the assets are included in this contract.

00:55 But why do some couples do prenups?

00:58 Because if there is no prenup, based on our family code,

01:03 if you get married, all the property that you can have before you get married,

01:11 almost all the property that you will earn will be the property of the spouse.

01:18 For example, before I got married and I had 100 million pesos,

01:23 if something happens to us and we separate and we split the property,

01:28 that 100 million, 50 to me, 50 to her.

01:32 The problem here in the Philippines is that people do not accept prenup agreement

01:38 because it takes the romance out of a marriage.

01:42 To make the prenup valid and effective, it must be written, signed,

01:47 with the consent of two parties and made before marriage.

01:51 It should also be registered in the civil registry where it was married

01:55 and to the property registry if you have any.
