SUCOPRESS/Raquel Laguna.

00:00 Vanessa, it must be a little difficult to play Maria.
00:05 Tell me, what is the biggest challenge for you?
00:09 I think the biggest challenge is to put on the shoes of a woman who lived 2000 years ago.
00:15 Because, living in this time, I feel that we have so many liberties as a woman.
00:25 Our strength and confidence come from somewhere else in our psyche and our body.
00:34 I always wonder where she got her strength from, where she got her confidence from.
00:42 She had to live very difficult circumstances, not only because of the time, but in particular.
00:49 So, all those things are a challenge, but it's a challenge that always makes you think, and they're delicious.
01:00 How has your personal life impacted participating in a show like The Chosen?
01:07 Well, first of all, getting into it creatively and with an imagination that has to recreate these stories that have been told to us since forever.
01:24 But, seeing it, seeing Vanessa as not only the character, but as she brings humanity, as she becomes the mother of Jesus.
01:35 There are many times where I see Vanessa taking care of Jesus and it reminds me of my mom.
01:42 I never imagined that, when I read the Bible or this story, that it would remind me of my mom.
01:48 Do you think it's something like that, very high?
01:51 And, in some way, accessible, not in a direct way, but higher.
01:57 I think that, being part of this show, it has made it accessible to me in a more direct way.
02:04 Vanessa, what can the audience expect from this fourth season?
02:08 Oh my, many emotions, many emotions, many ups and downs.
02:13 I think there's so much celebration, as there's sadness and drama, a lot of drama.
02:23 But there's also a theme that repeats itself, and I think it repeats itself throughout the show, which is hope.
02:33 That there's something beyond what you can be going through right now, that there's a light.
02:41 What's new with your character this season?
02:45 This season, my character will learn that the strongest part of me is not able to get closer to Jesus,
02:58 but I simply have to find the ear that I've missed, and in some way, I learn a very strong lesson this season.
03:07 How is your day-to-day in the set, with the rest of the cast, with the crew?
03:11 Will you be like a big family now?
03:14 Yes, the truth is that yes.
03:16 I always say that one of the highlights of filming this series, you know, all the beauty that it has brought,
03:24 one of those beautiful things is the family that has been created in the set.
03:29 Not only in the set, but I think it transcends the set.
03:32 And well, I don't have many scenes with the rest of the cast, at least not this season.
03:41 So I've missed it, I've missed it a lot, because the truth is that I have a great time.
03:47 Especially on days that are super long, people start to go crazy, and then very cool moments are created.
03:59 Yes, we support each other a lot, but it's also like, for example, let's say we've been filming for 90 days, right?
04:08 So you're going to see the ups and downs of each person, you're going to see what are the moments where you can support,
04:14 and also admit and be vulnerable and say, "Hey, I need support."
04:19 And we come together to help each other, because yes, both the good days and the bad ones, right?
04:26 Long days, filming during the day and then filming at night, you're like, I don't even remember what the monologue is, you know?
04:35 It gets difficult, and that's when we get together the most, and it's like, "Oh, please, help me, understand me."
04:41 and we are there to support each other.
