00:00 Pittsburgh Steelers according to sources are set to bring in three offensive assistants for interviews all of them with passing game coordinator
00:08 Experience those names are Los Angeles Chargers passing game specialist Tom
00:12 Arth Tennessee Titans quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Charles London and New York Jets wide receivers coach Zach a Zani
00:19 Zani is the only one with no NFL experience as a passing game coordinator
00:23 But it has plenty in college and some college offensive coordinator experience as a whole
00:28 London has some connection with Arthur Smith
00:30 He was actually the Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach his first two years in
00:34 Atlanta maybe that could be a name and then obviously the Chargers and their passing game and Justin Herbert
00:39 Arthur's a big name to watch you here you hear that news you see that they're continuing their their search here
00:47 We're talking on Friday about how you know it kind of seems quiet. This is it minimal changes
00:53 Where does it go from here?
00:54 I mean did you expect a passing game coordinator to be on their list even with a higher as big as Arthur Smith I?
01:00 Didn't actually quite honestly. I thought they were gonna kind of stick with
01:04 With what they had I thought they they trusted Arthur Smith to kind of handle all these duties
01:09 But so this was interesting and these are these are guys like you said not a ton like even the guys who do have NFL
01:17 Experience it's not a ton of it
01:18 I think this is where you know when you heard my Tom and our Rooney talk about some fresh ideas
01:24 You know a fresh perspective on the offense Arthur Smith is a part of that, but I think
01:29 You know also just given his track record. He has kind of
01:33 You know he fits into what the Steelers
01:37 Have currently you know I think it's he fits with this roster his kind of philosophy
01:42 And how he's coached previous team kind of aligns with maybe what this team needs
01:47 But I think here is where you're gonna kind of get an injection of some new ideas
01:51 And so that's why you know it seems like they're going a little younger with this position
01:55 It seems like they're going with guys who are you know not connected to the organization as much
02:00 And just can give them something a little bit different especially if you think about them
02:05 Coming in as a pass game coordinator something like that. That's where you feel like
02:09 The Steelers really needed a shot of life
02:12 I mean I wasn't wasn't upset with the run game at all wasn't upset with with that aspect of the offense
02:17 But it's like the it's the passing game that really needed a kickstart
02:20 And it seems like that was what they're trying to do with these hires. I mean who knows how many of them
02:24 You know could actually be real viable and could actually you know elevate the passing game
02:30 But it seems like the Steelers are at least trying to do something a little bit new when it seemed like
02:34 You know the Arthur Smith hire we talked about it. It's it's a little more encouraged
02:38 I'm a little bit more encouraged by it than I was before, but I think there's still
02:42 It still wasn't kind of the I?
02:45 Don't know not difference maker isn't the right word, but like you know wasn't very different
02:51 I think from what the Steelers had previously it felt like a
02:54 More of a safe hire even even after we talked through it a little bit
02:58 And this is I think where they'll try to shake things up a little bit more
