00:03 Start at the top and I'll let you take it away here.
00:05 Number one quarterback for next year assumes to be.
00:09 Josh Allen, who is the same guy as I know if you were announcing it and
00:16 doing the drumroll of my little Steve.
00:18 We had this rehearsal this week for the show.
00:20 Clearly, that's what happened.
00:21 But look, it's Josh Allen at the top again.
00:24 Can you repeat the 15 rushing touchdowns from last year?
00:27 Probably not.
00:29 Can Jalen Hurts at number two?
00:30 Probably not.
00:31 Now, Hurts is the one right now.
00:32 Again, these are the expert consensus rankings you can find over at
00:34 fantasypros.com, where you get all the experts from different places
00:38 putting in their ranks.
00:39 Now, these aren't my rankings necessarily because I do believe that Jalen Hurts
00:43 could potentially struggle next year.
00:45 Now, let's see how the offense shakes out.
00:48 I think you saw at times some aggression from Hurts from what you saw without
00:51 Shane Stikin this past season.
00:53 He clearly missed the play calling, clearly missed that coordinator.
00:57 And I think it showed in the Eagles defense this year.
01:00 I mean, excuse me, the Eagles offense this year.
01:01 So regardless, because of the rushing equity and the rushing touchdowns they
01:04 bring, it's something to keep in mind.
01:06 Now also, if Jason Kelsey should retire and all of a sudden that tush-push is
01:11 not quite what it used to be, some of those rushing touchdowns might not be
01:14 there as well.
01:15 So that the brotherly shove that has been so popular here, which has gotten
01:19 him so many touchdowns at the goal line, seriously, it might be a little bit
01:23 trickier.
01:23 So these are the small details that sometimes I think you have to wrap your
01:26 mind around when we start looking at players.
01:28 Now Lamar Jackson had a great season last year.
01:30 Lamar Jackson MVP worthy.
01:32 We're still waiting on all that.
01:33 But you know, 3678 yards passing at 24 touchdowns, just seven receptions.
01:40 You saw the emergence of Isaiah Likely and you saw the emergence of Zay
01:44 Flowers in 2023.
01:46 I think those big pieces will be there for him next year.
01:48 Not sure about Mark Andrews, though.
01:50 I think Likely played well enough that maybe Andrews is gone.
01:53 He finishes QB three now, just for comparison.
01:55 He had just five rushing touchdowns.
01:57 They had 800 yards rushing, which is an enormous number.
02:00 So remember, no matter how good a quarterback is, even if they're a
02:04 little bit on the mediocre side, sometimes in terms of passer rating or
02:07 other things, if they're rushing and getting rushing touchdowns, they are
02:10 just very valuable.
02:11 As we continue to move through this list to you in the QB ones, you have
02:14 Patrick Mahomes at four, Jack Prescott at five, CJ Stroud at six, and then
02:19 Anthony Richardson at seven.
02:20 Richardson's the guy that I want to circle map because this kid has that
02:24 ability to be a top three fantasy quarterback.
02:26 Now, it doesn't always have to look pretty, but we're talking about a guy
02:29 with phenomenal size, speed, athleticism, arm strength.
02:34 He's got all the tools.
02:35 Unfortunately, it's going to take him a little bit longer because of the
02:38 injury in 2023.
02:39 So we're not going to see him for a while and hopefully in 2024, he is
02:43 going to be healthy and ready to go and it's unfortunate that his season
02:46 was cut short because he's going to miss that developmental time.
02:49 But at the same time, it's hard not to watch some of the tape of what you
02:53 saw already from Anthony Richardson and his rookie season and not get very
02:56 excited because there's every reason to believe that you could draft a guy
03:00 who again in the expert consensus ranking going around the seventh
03:03 quarterback taken overall and he could finish his top three.
03:06 Mahomes, certainly the guy that could finish his top three, Jack Prescott,
03:09 a phenomenal season.
03:09 We'll see if it's repeatable.
03:11 Stroud is interesting here because, you know, he he outplayed so many
03:17 people's expectations, not necessarily mine because we don't want to show
03:20 here.
03:20 I was a big fan heading into the draft heading into the season.
03:23 He was a great QB to option.
03:24 I told everybody but at the same time.
03:26 You now he has to perform up to an expectation level, which is going to
03:30 be a different challenge.
03:31 I think Stroud is up for it.
03:32 But when you put Richardson and Stroud back to back like that in terms of
03:35 fantasy, I'm going to take Richardson, even though there's a little bit more
03:39 potential ball of volatility.
03:40 I think Richardson has that athleticism and that Russian capability that just
03:45 breaks fantasy leagues and as much as I love CJ Stroud, I don't know if his
03:49 productivity is necessarily that different potentially from a guy like a
03:53 healthy Kirk Cousins at the end of the day because CJ Stroud finishes QB 13
03:56 this year and now he's being ranked as QB 6.
03:59 I think that's a little early.
04:00 Do you think I'm crazy to love Anthony Richardson as much as I do?
04:04 No, I think what you love is the the hope the ceiling the oh, this can be
04:11 good.
04:12 You've dated Stroud.
04:14 You've tasted its cooking.
04:15 So now maybe you're saying this is the fickle way we live our lives these
04:20 days.
04:20 No, no, it's it's it's something to behold man.
04:23 We live in a generation now everything bang bang.
04:25 Give it to me.
04:25 I'm done.
04:26 Give it to me.
04:26 I'm done.
04:26 Consumption is big.
04:28 Yeah.
04:28 (upbeat music)
