If you had the choice between Carnegie Hall or Prom, which do you think you would choose?
Choir is a 6-part documentary series following the kids of the Detroit Youth Choir as they prepare for the performance of a lifetime. Through their eyes, we experience the highs and lows of life growing up in Detroit, navigating the challenges of balancing family, school, and athletics, all while pursuing their dreams of taking their talents to the next level and performing on one of the world’s biggest stages. Following their 2019 appearance on America’s Got Talent, it’s a pivotal time for the choir and its director, Anthony White, as he’s faced with the combined challenges of replacing several key members, keeping the choir relevant in Detroit, and finding the next big opportunity that will put them back in the national spotlight.

Choir is now streaming on Disney+.

00:00 I wanted to be big, like all my life, and now that we're here, I feel like being so
00:08 young and being on a huge stage like Carnegie Hall, it is definitely nerve-racking.
00:15 You know, even though I'm in a choir, am I good enough for this and am I
00:22 fit enough to be able to be in my shoes?
00:28 So I'm missing prom.
00:34 I didn't know what to do at first, because I didn't know how big Carnegie was at first,
00:38 and people were telling me, "Go to prom!
00:40 Prom is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
00:42 And I'm like, "I should definitely go to Carnegie, because that's what I want to do in life."
00:48 So I had to make some sacrifices, good sacrifices too, because I love doing what I'm doing.
00:54 It's like, I'm so excited to perform.
00:57 I just can't wait to see people's facial expressions when I turn that stage up.
01:02 I can't, ugh, I cannot wait.
