James (Jesse Eisenberg) and Em (Kristen Stewart) catch up and finally have a romantic moment.
Review:
In Adventureland, starring Jesse Eisenberg from The Education of Charlie Banks, a stiff recent college graduate who finds out he has to take a demeaning minimum-wage job at a local amusement park instead of spending his summer sipping German beer, touring top-notch museums, and making out with attractive French women, is inspired by writer/director Greg Mottola's own true-life job-from-hell experience. In the summer of 1987, James Brennan (Eisenberg) has recently received his college diploma. Just as James is about to go for his ideal European tour, his parents, Jack Gilpin and Wendie Malick, abruptly inform him that they will not be able to pay for the trip. All James has left to look forward to this summer is a never-ending parade of enormous plush animals, aggressive fathers, and sugar-fueled kids. But James finally starts to relax when he develops feelings for her alluring coworker Em (Kristen Stewart). The worst summer ever doesn't seem that horrible after all.
