Actors Tyler Johnston, Andrew Herr, K. Trevor Wilson & Michelle Mylett talk to The Inside Reel about cracking each other up, finding the edge and understanding the context of the journey in regards to the 12th and final season of their series “Letterkenny” on Hulu.

01:14 and you're bullying or putting any of the other factions down,
01:18 you know, we bind together, and we set you straight.
01:22 So I think that was a big thing for Jerry,
01:25 was just, you know, everyone kind of deals
01:27 with inner turmoil and wants to find their place in society,
01:31 and in Letter Kenny, you know, you always--
01:34 you always got a place, whether that's Modine's
01:37 or the basement or the gym.
01:40 There's always a place for somebody.
01:42 - I think specifically knowing that it was the final season,
01:44 I think everyone might have layered that
01:46 into their performances a little bit,
01:49 that, you know, through it all,
01:51 there's been, like, little beefs
01:53 between a lot of the characters over the years,
01:56 but, you know, what's the--
01:58 it's a--you know, hate and love are kind of on the same side
02:02 and indifference is on the other,
02:04 so I think we all love each other
02:06 and hate each other at the same time.
02:08 I think on the final season,
02:10 really, like, came to accept each other over--
02:13 especially when you have, you know,
02:16 the D-gens of country.
02:18 You know, it always helps when you have an outside enemy
02:21 who kind of bands together.
02:24 And we, you know, we lost one of our own,
02:26 and we're bringing him back, so I think,
02:28 in the end, Leonard Kenny as a whole is a tribe,
02:31 and then the characters kind of, yeah, embody that.

03:42 because it's just sort of,
03:44 it's like a comfortable blanket.
03:46 Could you talk, what was one of the moments
03:48 that stands out to you of sitting at that stand,
03:50 or were there other moments that were, you know,
03:52 just sort of stand out to you as like,
03:54 that's what Letter Kenny is?
03:56 - There were so many times over the years
03:58 sitting at that stand where we were doing
04:00 ridiculous, ridiculous things.
04:03 You know, the yes, yes, yeses,
04:07 it was one of the, I mean, it's a fan favorite,
04:12 and it was, I don't know if we've ever laughed
04:14 as hard doing that, you know.
04:16 Michelle was so uncomfortable doing that,
04:22 and we were all giggling like idiots.
04:24 And I have a lot of memories of trying
04:26 to get queso to crack.
04:28 That was whenever we were sitting around
04:31 the produce stand, my goal was to try
04:34 to get queso to corpse a scene.
04:37 And if queso laughed at something in one scene,
04:41 I would do it twice the next scene.
04:43 And if I could get queso,
04:47 then Nathan was sure to laugh,
04:50 'cause those two are each other's kryptonite.
04:52 You know, when we did the catch scene,
04:54 they couldn't look at each other
04:56 'cause they both just started laughing.
04:59 So they both, during my coverage,
05:01 they both had their backs turned to me
05:03 'cause they were just shaking with laughter.
05:06 And those will be my memories,
05:08 just us breaking each other
05:10 and having a lot of giggles off camera.

05:19 But it needs to be more catchy,
05:21 more crafty, more clever.

06:05 "Eh, maybe too far," you know?
06:06 But how do you know where the line is?
06:08 And what jokes do you know?
06:10 Like, when did you know Katie worked early on?
06:13 And same with you, Dylan.
06:14 Did you know when Riley was really starting to work,
06:18 and you could feel that sort of rhythm?
06:20 I mean, there isn't a joke that's too far.
06:23 You show up to work, it's written,
06:25 you sign on to the character,
06:26 you say yes, and you commit to it.
06:28 Like, ultimately, um, and the--the porn,
06:33 the "yes, yes, yes" skit,
06:35 was obviously crass and, you know, inappropriate,
06:40 but so much fun and so silly,
06:43 and kind of, like, weirdly exposing for all of us, too.
06:47 Won't go into details.
06:49 But we did it--we did that scene on stage
06:52 when we did the tour as well,
06:54 and we all got to do that together,
06:55 and it's just, like, so over the top
06:57 and weird to do that with your friends.
06:59 But, um, but yeah, I think what works with Katie
07:03 is she's down to go there with them just as hard,
07:07 but she's kind of always been a bit of the voice of reason.
07:11 She has authority in a way,
07:13 especially within the dynamic between her and Wayne,
07:18 that he doesn't really have with anyone else,
07:22 and I think she's kind of, yeah, voice of reason.
07:26 She's--she's steady Eddie.
07:28 She is who she is, and she--
07:30 She's the master of the world.
