00:03 - Let me tell you something, Scott.
00:04 First of all, the receivers and tight ends,
00:06 this is my 23rd senior bowl.
00:08 This is one of the best groups I've ever seen.
00:11 You never know what you're gonna see
00:12 because you have three days of practice.
00:14 The first two are the real important ones.
00:16 Then you have the game on Saturday,
00:17 which is less important.
00:18 In fact, most teams don't have a lot of people
00:21 who go to the games 'cause all the practices are taped
00:23 and obviously they have the game tape.
00:25 But it was fascinating.
00:26 And look, last week, Puka Nakua, Jayden Reed,
00:30 Dalton Kincaid, again, 10 to 12 guys,
00:33 a tight end receiver who are stars.
00:34 Now, when you look at this one,
00:37 there were a bunch of players I really liked
00:38 who I wound up seeing.
00:40 And the first two days, again,
00:42 Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather was great.
00:44 A lot of guys stood out.
00:46 Pierce Olaho, who's a receiver
00:47 from the University of Florida, was terrific.
00:49 Inside and outside receiver.
00:51 Talked to some receivers, coaches,
00:52 who think he could probably be better served
00:55 playing outside because he's got great speed.
00:57 Christian McCaffrey's brother, out of Rice, was there.
01:01 That was good to see that.
01:02 But what I really liked is the fact that
01:05 guys could rebound.
01:06 If you had one practice that wasn't so good on Tuesday,
01:10 then it was Wednesday.
01:10 And you all said Thursday.
01:11 Now, Thursday, for all you should know,
01:13 is a lighter practice.
01:15 It's really Tuesday and Wednesday
01:17 where guys could stand out and really help the draft stop.
01:19 Now, I wanna add this.
01:20 It's not like the guy's gonna move up five rounds.
01:24 But back in 2002, my first senior bowl,
01:27 Antoine Randall-El came out of nowhere
01:29 as an option quarterback at IU.
01:31 I was told he was gonna be a fifth round pick
01:33 or sixth round pick had he played quarterback.
01:35 He was willing to switch positions.
01:38 He did that and he shocked the world,
01:39 became a second round pick.
01:42 That's what could happen sometimes.
01:43 If a guy comes out of nowhere, I'm gonna give you a guy,
01:45 now, I'm not saying this guy's gonna go very high.
01:47 Dylan Laube, who's a running back out of New Hampshire.
01:50 He was a late add.
01:51 No one knew anything about him.
01:52 He was the best back on the field.
01:54 Had a chance to talk to him on our interview on SiriusXM.
01:57 He was phenomenal.
01:59 He had a game this season for L.
02:01 We lined up mostly at receiver.
02:03 Early in September, he had 12 receptions for 295 yards.
02:10 So that helped him get invited to Mobile.
02:12 He was terrific.
02:13 And this is what happens sometimes.
02:14 Guys can come out of nowhere and shock the world.
02:17 Ricardo Coakley, another corner that was '02 or '03.
02:23 Out of Tuscaloosa.
02:24 Small school player, came out of nowhere.
02:27 Wound up being a second round pick for your Steelers again.
02:30 Now, that one was not as good as Antoine Rivelael,
02:32 who was sort of a journeyman
02:33 and never really made it that well.
02:34 But he had a dominant week.
02:36 Cornerbacks get pushed up sometimes
02:38 if they have a great week.
02:40 And he came out of nowhere, out of Tuscaloosa,
02:42 a small school, to get drafted that high by your Steelers.
