A heroic herder rescued a roe deer that had been caught in a wire hunting trap.

The deer had gotten its front right hoof stuck in the wire trap and was left standing in the cold - waiting to be freed.

The man, who didn't wish to reveal his name, was been driving past a forest in Hunlunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China, on January 25 when he noticed the deer.

The good samaritan used some pliers he had his car to cut the wire and free the deer.

After being freed, the small deer stuck around for a moment to be pet by its saviour before running back into the forest.
