00:00 Welcome to Peterbilt and Golf Club and in this video where we're going to look at
00:03 the seven gear mistakes you make once and never make again. If you've made any
00:08 mistakes I'm about to talk you through you'll know how damaging and annoying it
00:12 could be on the golf course and if you haven't made these mistakes hopefully
00:15 you've learned a lot from this video. Let's get started. Right the first gear
00:19 mistake that you're going to make once and never make again is not having a
00:22 waterproof golf bag with you on course. These things mean you don't have to
00:25 worry about how many showers you get caught in, how quick they come on, you
00:29 know your stuff's going to be dry in that bag. You also don't have to mess
00:32 around with one of the covers over the top if you don't want to and you know
00:35 that your valuables, the balls, your clothing, your food are all going to be
00:39 nice and dry. So whether it's a stand bag, a cart bag or a tour bag make sure it's
00:43 waterproof. We can all agree that clubs like this and even more bladed clubs
00:47 than this look beautiful in the bag. They're highly desirable and a lot of
00:51 your mates will be envious if you got a set of these. However the second gear
00:55 mistake I'm going to talk about now is falling into the trap of buying these
00:57 too soon for your game. I'd only recommend these if you're an elite
01:01 ball striker and a confident ball striker because if you're not you're
01:04 going to find your distances with clubs like this become incredibly inconsistent
01:07 and your golf game will suffer. So don't fall into the trap like a lot of us do
01:12 of getting blades too early for your game and make sure you're using golf clubs
01:15 that help you out the most. The third gear mistake that you'll make once and
01:18 never make again is playing with the wrong shafts. Now without a custom fit
01:23 you'll just be guessing which ones you're using whether that's you think
01:25 you're regular, you think you're stiff, ex-stiff or senior, guessing is not the way
01:29 forward and a custom fit will be perfect. Get this custom fit right and your golf
01:34 clubs will suit your game way more and you'll optimize all of your performance.
01:37 So stop guessing which shafts you're using, get a custom fit and get the most
01:41 out of your game. The next gear mistake you'll make once and never again is not
01:46 using one of these, that's a distance measuring device. Whether it's a laser
01:50 like this or a GPS device like this, once you use it once you'll never want to be
01:54 seen without one. These things give you super accurate yardages and allow you to
01:59 hit better shots with more confidence. You can commit to them rather than
02:03 guessing yardages out on course, you'll get closer to the pin and maybe you'll
02:07 hold a few more putts. So make sure you've got yourself either a laser or a
02:10 GPS device or any kind of distance measuring device and stop estimating
02:14 your yardages. The next gear mistake you'll make once and never again is not
02:18 investing in a proper pair of waterproof shoes. Whether it's the summer or the
02:23 winter there's no worse feeling than trudging around for 16 or 17 holes with
02:27 sopping wet socks and freezing cold feet. So make sure whether it's summer or
02:31 winter your shoes are 100% waterproof and never make that mistake again.
02:37 The next gear mistake you'll make once and never again is buying a club online and
02:41 not checking the specs. I've fallen into this trap myself, I saw this lovely
02:45 tailor-made Rocket Blades Hybrid online and thought I'll have a go with that.
02:49 It arrived, it had a regular flex shaft and it was cut down by half an inch. Not my
02:53 specs at all, I didn't check them, it's my own fault. So when you go online to buy
02:57 clubs make sure you check the specs are just right for you, so they're right for
03:00 your game and you can enjoy your new club. The last gear mistake you'll make
03:05 once and never again is leaving your slope functionality on your laser range
03:09 finder during a qualifying round. If you leave this on it could be very damaging,
03:14 you'll get DQ'd from the round entirely and your work will go to waste. Now most
03:19 models have slope functionality now and most also have a really easy way to turn
03:23 them on and off. They'll also have a signifier, it depends on the manufacturer
03:27 as to whether it's on or off so you and your playing partners know whether
03:30 you're legal or not. So don't fall into the trap, make sure your slope's off during
03:34 any qualifying round and never get DQ'd again. So now you've watched this video
03:39 you will not fall foul of any of these mistakes and be one step ahead of anyone
03:43 who's not watched this video. Have I missed any? Are there any glaring ones I've
03:48 forgotten about? Let me know in the comments below but for now from Peter
03:51 Milton, see you next time.
