00:00 Hello, I'm Gill Buchanan, the editor of the Falkirk Herald, and I'm here to tell you about
00:04 some of the stories that are making the headlines in our print edition, which is on sale now.
00:09 The community has rushed to offer financial support to the family of two-year-old Aria
00:14 Trippney, who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. Within days, over £30,000 has been
00:20 raised to help the Grangewith family seek help from specialists overseas.
00:25 Groups who use Bonnybridge Community Centre are urging Falkirk Council not to close the
00:29 building within months. The groups believe they originally had two years to set up a
00:33 community asset transfer, but now the council say the building is in need of too many repairs.
00:40 A group which has set up the Home to Hospital charity to drive people living with cancer
00:44 in Stenysmyrn and Larbert for treatment and appointments outwith the district, now are
00:49 looking for more people to become involved as volunteer drivers and to fund raise for
00:53 them.
00:55 Librarian Yvonne Manning, who has inspired so many young people to read books, has received
00:59 a top award.
01:02 And it's congratulations to Peter and Marie Ledwidge of Camlin, who, after a chance meeting
01:06 at Doxey's Dance Hall, are celebrating 60 years of marriage on February 1st.
01:12 We have a review of the latest show from children's theatre group Big Bad Wolf, who are on stage
