Polestar 4 is now officially on sale in Europe with a starting indicative price of EUR 63,200. Production is planned to start towards the middle of 2024, with first deliveries expected from August.
Polestar 4 transforms the aerodynamics of a coupé and the space of an SUV into a new breed of SUV coupé. Polestar 4 is positioned between Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in terms of size and price.
As a design-driven brand, the design of Polestar 4 sees the continuation of key elements first shown by the Polestar Precept concept car, coming to life.
Aerodynamic efficiency is enhanced by the low nose, retractable door handles, flush glazing with frameless windows, rear aero blades and air flow optimisation around the rear light bar.
Thanks to the elimination of the rear window, the standard full-length glass roof stretches beyond the rear occupants’ heads, creating a truly unique interior ambience. A secondary media and climate control screen is mounted between the front seats to enable rear occupant control.

00:03 OK.
00:03 Go ahead, Max.
00:05 Can I go?
00:08 I'm Maximilian Missoni, and this is Polestar 4.
00:14 But I can now, when we go to the side, now we do cut to the side,
00:18 and then you see the fast--
00:19 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:23 I mean, look at this.
00:25 Look at this roofline.
00:27 Normally, you need to provide for a good rear view
00:31 with the inner rear view mirror in any car, really.
00:34 But we have realized that technology has reached a point
00:37 where you can switch out the physical mirror
00:39 with a digital display and an HD camera.
00:42 I would like to point out the camera, but then I
00:45 don't know if you will see it from where you stand.
00:48 This is the rear window.
00:50 What that means is we could now take the rear header structure
00:55 and move it rearwards.
00:58 I can't open the door.
00:58 Can I?
00:59 No.
01:00 This doesn't just improve the range of the car,
01:03 but it allows for something else that is truly special.
01:06 I really like to do this.
01:08 Look at that.
01:10 This car has an extremely spacious rear seat.
01:15 I will demonstrate that if you come with me.
01:17 Can you do me a favor?
01:18 Can you sit so that you're comfortably in the front seat
01:21 and move your seat in that position?
01:23 But now you're comfortably driving.
01:26 Really?
01:27 Yeah.
01:28 That's even more than I thought.
01:31 And then I do this.
01:32 The reclinable seats in Polestar 4.
01:41 Remember when I talked about the long wheelbase?
01:43 Well, look at this.
01:45 The legroom I have here, here are my knees.
01:49 There's this much to the front seat.
01:51 It's absolutely incredible.
01:53 And in combination with the camera system,
01:55 I can sit extremely upright and comfortably in this car
01:58 and still have quite a lot of space above my head
02:01 to the glass roof.
02:02 Let's go to the front.
02:04 Let's talk about headlights.
02:06 At Polestar, we call our light signature the dual blade.
02:10 This is the daytime running light.
02:13 And the functional headlights are hidden underneath.
02:16 The illuminated star.
02:23 The thing is, often logos are illuminated
02:26 through the whole emblem.
02:29 We didn't like that.
02:31 We thought it was way more sophisticated
02:33 if you had a halo effect, the light just
02:36 on the outside of the logo.
02:38 So the logo could be in our signature body color finish,
02:42 but you still have a beautifully, elegantly illuminated logo.
02:47 All right.
02:50 Maybe inside would be a good time now.
02:52 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:55 In the interior, we did something new.
02:58 We created a new concept called Soft Tech.
03:01 Soft Tech is inspired by fashion and sportswear.
03:06 We're using a 3D knit material that we call Tech Knit.
03:10 It's on the dashboard, and it reaches all the way
03:13 into the doors.
03:15 The beauty of it is that it is made from 100% recycled yarn,
03:19 and it lets light shine through.
03:22 At Polestar, we pride ourselves on our very easy-to-use
03:25 and intuitive interfaces.
03:28 We have a split of the map on the left side.
03:31 And on the right side, we have four widgets--
03:33 phone, for example, Bluetooth.
03:38 Bluetooth.
03:39 And there's one really special thing.
03:42 That is our lighting app.
03:43 When you press it, you get a view of the planets
03:46 in our solar system.
03:48 And you can change the light by going to, let's say, Venus.
03:51 So the whole interior is dipped into a much warmer tone.
03:55 Or Earth.
03:56 Let's look at Earth.
03:57 Now, we could try to switch lights off and really
04:00 show the ambient light.
04:02 That would be a fun little thing, this dark thing,
04:04 me in the dark.
04:05 All right.
04:13 So let's talk about power.
04:15 Polestar 4 produces, out of a 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack,
04:20 400 kilowatts, or for more old-school people like myself,
04:24 544 horsepower, which accelerates it
04:29 in 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers an hour.
04:34 My top 10 features of Polestar 4.
04:39 Can I do that?
04:41 And now, my top features of Polestar 4.
04:45 The illuminated Polestar logo.
04:48 The dual-blade headlamps.
04:50 The frameless rear-view mirrors.
04:52 The rear window.
04:53 The incredible rear space.
04:56 The reclinable rear seat.
05:00 The planet lighting app.
05:01 I just realized something.
05:10 We did talk a lot about 3D technique and stuff.
05:13 But we didn't say that the car also comes in leather,
05:15 of course.
05:17 OK.
05:18 But maybe we can do something in the video, you know?
05:20 You can maybe do a graphic effect or something.
05:23 [MUSIC PLAYING]
05:27 (upbeat music)
