00:00:00 I believe that we owe God a praise.
00:00:17 Jeremiah chapter one says in verse four, before I formed you, verse five, before I formed
00:00:24 you in the belly, I knew you.
00:00:31 And before thou came as forth out of the womb, I sanctified you and ordained you as a prophet
00:00:40 to the nations.
00:00:41 I want to speak a word over you because some of y'all, your thinking is too local.
00:00:49 I did not call you to Houston.
00:00:52 I called you to the world.
00:00:56 I didn't call you to third ward, fourth ward, fifth ward.
00:00:59 I didn't call you to New Orleans.
00:01:01 I didn't call you to Miami.
00:01:02 I called you to the nations.
00:01:06 You're going to be the first person in your family to do things internationally.
00:01:10 So you better start reading how they do things in Africa.
00:01:16 You better start reading how they do things in the EU because it's time for you to go
00:01:19 beyond the borders of your level of comfort.
00:01:25 Now it's going to be hard.
00:01:26 No, let me rephrase that.
00:01:29 It's going to be hard as hell and you're going to feel like quitting and you're going to
00:01:34 feel like giving up and you're going to feel insignificant and you're going to feel like
00:01:37 nobody hears you and you're going to feel like you don't get acknowledgement.
00:01:40 So you need to just stop and just let the people who they know do it.
00:01:44 But God said, it's you.
00:01:45 Everybody just touch yourself and say, it's me.
00:01:50 God says, gird up verse 17, gird up your loins and arise and speak unto them all that I have
00:01:57 commanded thee.
00:01:58 Be not dismayed in their face, lest I confound them before you.
00:02:02 God says, let me tell you something.
00:02:04 I'm getting ready to send you out there and if their face messes with you, I'm going to
00:02:08 take my glory back.
00:02:12 If their attitude towards you makes you panic, I'm going to pick somebody else.
00:02:19 Somebody say, be bold in the Lord.
00:02:21 Say it again.
00:02:22 Say, be bold in the Lord.
00:02:24 Verse 18, for behold, I have made thee this day a defensed city and an iron pillar and
00:02:30 a brazen wall against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof,
00:02:35 against the priests thereof and against the people of the land.
00:02:39 When you start fighting kings and priests, it is God's way of letting you know you are
00:02:45 one yourself.
00:02:50 Kings only fight kings.
00:02:52 Princes only fight princes.
00:02:53 Queens only fight queens.
00:02:55 So if your level of enemy has arisen, it's because your level of anointing has.
00:03:00 How many of y'all are fighting some big enemies?
00:03:09 It's because God calls you to do big things.
00:03:12 And here is the word of the Lord, verse 19.
00:03:14 Here's my favorite part of it all.
00:03:16 He says, and they shall fight against you.
00:03:19 This ain't going to be easy.
00:03:23 You're going to have to swing the kingdom of heaven, suffer violence and the violent
00:03:26 take it back.
00:03:30 But even though they're going to fight you, they shall not prevail against thee, for I
00:03:42 am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
00:03:53 In this whole text, as God is telling Jeremiah what he's going to do, right in the middle
00:03:58 he does what you and I do.
00:04:00 He says to God, God, I don't speak well, and I am too young for the job.
00:04:09 Now I don't know what your excuse is, but how many of y'all got at least two excuses
00:04:12 you give God every time he tells you to do something?
00:04:17 The name of this sermon is not Jay-Z's album, but it is called Reasonable Doubts.
00:04:24 I want to talk to you about reasonable doubts and how God is going to get you to the place
00:04:31 where you no longer doubt yourself in him and that you finally become what God has called
00:04:41 you to be.
00:04:42 If you're ready, say, I'm ready.
00:04:43 Slap your neighbor on your way down to the seat and say, I'm ready for the fight.
00:04:57 Have y'all noticed that today these psychological terms that were once used by psychologists
00:05:05 and psychiatrists are now being used by everyday ordinary people?
00:05:12 You never heard anybody talking about imposter syndrome in a regular conversation, but you
00:05:19 do now.
00:05:23 You can't even get in an argument with anybody today without them calling you a narcissist.
00:05:28 They just throw that word out just like it's nothing.
00:05:35 There is another term that people don't even use as much.
00:05:39 We call it insecurity, but there is a framework around the idea of this title.
00:05:46 Listen to this.
00:05:47 It's called self-distrust.
00:05:48 See, when you really boil it down, most of us don't trust ourselves.
00:06:00 Let me say what I mean.
00:06:01 You love yourself, but you don't really believe in you.
00:06:06 You don't really believe in you.
00:06:10 If your children came to you and said, Daddy, Mommy, invest $5,000 into my business, you
00:06:16 would mortgage your house to do it, but you wouldn't do it for yourself because we often
00:06:23 believe in other people's dreams more than we believe in our own.
00:06:28 It's the distrust and the gift that God has put inside of you.
00:06:32 Before I'm finished today, I want you to learn that if you are in God, you can trust the
00:06:36 abilities that he's given you.
00:06:42 If God gave you an idea, then he will also give you the provision to bring the vision
00:06:49 to pass.
00:06:51 If you trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding.
00:06:56 In all your ways, acknowledge him.
00:07:00 Come on, somebody finish it for me.
00:07:03 He shall direct your path.
00:07:08 History teaches us of a man whose name is Jeremiah.
00:07:14 He is called the weeping prophet.
00:07:19 This actual caricature of him is a painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
00:07:27 This is Michelangelo's depiction of how he believes that Jeremiah lived his life.
00:07:35 Look at his shoulders hunched over as if he's tired of carrying the weight.
00:07:43 Look at his eyes with disdain as if he is frustrated with what he sees.
00:07:50 Look at his hand covering his mouth as if he has nothing left to say.
00:07:57 He is the prophet who is now under the weight of his assignment.
00:08:06 Everybody's always asking God, "Lord, show me my purpose."
00:08:13 When you finally find your purpose, you meet it with your back straight, but you finish
00:08:19 with it hunched over.
00:08:23 If you ever find out what God has called you to do, it will be such a drain on your spirit
00:08:27 that your eyes will go dim.
00:08:31 You will say so much that you will get to the place where you have nothing left to say
00:08:35 because purpose is so amazing that it both drains you and energizes you.
00:08:44 When people are always tired, it's because they are doing something they are not inside
00:08:48 of their purpose.
00:08:51 Because your purpose will bring you down, but sometimes it lifts you up.
00:08:55 When you find something you love to do, they say you never work another day in your life.
00:09:00 Have you ever met anybody?
00:09:01 They're tired every day they wake up.
00:09:03 They're frustrated every day they wake up.
00:09:05 They never have any energy.
00:09:06 They're always doing something, but they never have any energy.
00:09:08 It's because purpose is the only natural ingredient for energy.
00:09:14 Purpose says, "Give me everything you have and I'll give you everything you need."
00:09:19 I implore you to find your purpose, not a job, but your purpose.
00:09:25 Not a career, but a purpose.
00:09:28 Not a payday, but your purpose.
00:09:30 Because without purpose, you'll have money and nothing to spend it on.
00:09:36 Without purpose, you'll have 15,000 square feet and you'll ride around the block because
00:09:39 you don't want to go in the door.
00:09:42 Without purpose, you'll be driving a $300,000 car.
00:09:46 Without purpose, you'll drive a $300,000 car with nowhere to go.
00:09:50 Without purpose, you'll have a $15,000 mattress and can't go to sleep.
00:09:59 Private plane, nowhere to go.
00:10:01 4,000 numbers in your phone and nobody to call.
00:10:07 Some of you all right now are at that place right now.
00:10:10 Anytime something good happens in your life, you don't even know who to call because you
00:10:16 don't know if you're going to call the person who's going to interrupt your session by telling
00:10:20 them what happened to them or if you tell them too much, they're going to get jealous
00:10:23 and sabotage it.
00:10:24 You're operating in silos without individuals who share a unified purpose and you find yourself
00:10:32 being surrounded and still feeling alone.
00:10:39 If I'm talking to you, holler at your boy.
00:10:45 Living life every week, weekly.
00:10:53 You're living every W-E-E-K, W-E-A-K.
00:11:00 From week to week.
00:11:03 Oh, I'm going to help somebody in this place today.
00:11:10 His name is Jeremiah.
00:11:16 He is a PK.
00:11:18 He's the son of a preacher, which means he grew up in the Lord's church.
00:11:26 He has a father, Heokiah, who was a well-known priest.
00:11:32 He was born in a village that was close enough to Jerusalem to see the wall and yet far enough
00:11:40 from Jerusalem to see the desert.
00:11:44 I want to know if I'm talking to anybody who's at the place in life right now where you can
00:11:49 see the future, but you're still dealing with the past.
00:11:58 You can see that it's almost over, but it feels like it just got started.
00:12:05 Who am I talking to?
00:12:07 You got the money to take a vacation, but you don't even feel like leaving the house.
00:12:13 You don't know who to trust.
00:12:15 You are right where he was at a place somewhere in between promise and pain.
00:12:21 I'm a minister today.
00:12:24 Somewhere in between crying because you're happy and crying because you're sad.
00:12:29 Somewhere between hugging somebody and saying, "I love you," and somewhere between saying,
00:12:33 "Don't touch me because I don't trust nobody."
00:12:35 Somewhere in between belief and doubt.
00:12:41 Somewhere between happy and sad.
00:12:43 You have a job that most people would kill for, and yet you feel like leaving it, but
00:12:48 you don't know what you would do next, so you stay there to make the status quo.
00:12:52 You know God has called you to start something, but you don't have the courage to leave what
00:12:56 you have.
00:12:57 You're comfortable, but you have a craving.
00:13:04 Raise your hand if I'm talking to you because I ain't going to waste my time.
00:13:09 Everybody looking at you, "Oh, you got it so good."
00:13:11 Do you know how hard it is to be me?
00:13:15 Just touch the name and say, "It's hard to be me.
00:13:17 It's hard to be me."
00:13:18 Do you know what it takes to carry this load?
00:13:23 Don't you judge me because if I left you in my life for 24 hours, you'd run for the hills.
00:13:30 Somewhere between God is good and God, where are you?
00:13:35 This is where most of us are.
00:13:42 I can't lead a diaspora of people who act like just because every day is a new day of
00:13:49 thanksgiving that you get up praising God every morning.
00:13:54 I don't know how to lead people who don't feel like cussing people out after they finish
00:13:58 praising God.
00:14:02 That's for somebody else.
00:14:03 I don't know how to lead people who will pray for you if you meet them on the right day,
00:14:08 but if you meet them on the wrong day, they will smack the taste out of your mouth, attend
00:14:12 the funeral, and cry like they don't know what happened.
00:14:15 That's what I know.
00:14:18 Jeremiah is a weeping prophet because he has the sins and the weight of Judah on his shoulder
00:14:24 because purpose is heavy.
00:14:27 Everybody's talking, "Reading books.
00:14:30 Show me my purpose.
00:14:31 TED Talks.
00:14:32 Show me my purpose.
00:14:33 YouTube clips.
00:14:34 Show me my purpose.
00:14:35 Let me tell you something.
00:14:37 If your shoulders are squared, you ain't carrying purpose."
00:14:40 Because purpose is like a cross.
00:14:42 It's heavy.
00:14:43 Sometimes, you need a Simon of Cyrene to come and help you lift the purpose because the
00:14:49 purpose is always heavier than the strength that you have.
00:14:55 Whatever you're doing by yourself is a hobby.
00:14:58 It's a job, but in order to have purpose, you have to have teamwork because when God
00:15:02 shows you what he really wants you to do, you're going to have to trust people to do
00:15:06 things that you can do yourself, but you will have to trust other people to help you with
00:15:18 because purpose is heavier than anything you've ever carried.
00:15:25 Purpose will make you contemplate suicide.
00:15:30 Purpose will make you contemplate divorce.
00:15:32 Purpose will make you stay in the bed four and five days.
00:15:36 Purpose will make you attempt to take some drug to take you out of reality.
00:15:40 I know I'm talking to some people in here today because you are sober on Sunday, but
00:15:45 you are intoxicated Monday through Saturday because you feel that if you can live every
00:15:50 day drunk, that you will just go to bed and wake up and everything will take care of itself.
00:15:55 Let me tell you something.
00:15:56 Purpose is staring you in the face and say, "Whenever you get ready, I'm right here, but
00:16:00 I'm not going to deliver you from this situation because before you were formed in your mother's
00:16:04 womb, I'd already created you for this purpose and I will not let you do that purpose when
00:16:10 I created you for this purpose.
00:16:12 And I don't care how much you cry about wanting that, you ain't getting that until you master
00:16:16 this."
00:16:21 There is some deliverance you're asking God for that he is holding back until you do what
00:16:26 he's called you to do.
00:16:31 And he worked in his purpose for 40 years.
00:16:37 See we want everything so fast.
00:16:43 We literally want to come to church and struggle.
00:16:45 What's the date, January what?
00:16:47 21st.
00:16:48 Y'all really want God to have this thing worked out by 1215.
00:16:52 Literally, straight up.
00:16:55 Some of y'all like, "God, I came to church.
00:16:56 Now what you going to do?"
00:16:57 God says, "So you mean to tell me I have to wait on you for 30 years and you want me to
00:17:01 do something in 30 minutes?"
00:17:05 That's not healthy for the relationship.
00:17:07 They that wait on the Lord, not the Lord that wait on them.
00:17:10 You got to wait on me.
00:17:11 I'm not waiting on you.
00:17:12 I'm from eternity to eternity.
00:17:13 I'm from the alpha and the omega.
00:17:14 I got nothing but time.
00:17:16 You don't.
00:17:17 Purpose.
00:17:18 Everybody say purpose.
00:17:19 Say it again, say purpose.
00:17:28 Somewhere in between purpose and pain.
00:17:30 And see, Jeremiah was called to be a prophet.
00:17:34 And those of y'all who read the Bible know this.
00:17:35 He was defenseless because there were three superpowers at the day of his tenure.
00:17:40 He didn't have everything that he needed to do his purpose, but he did it anyway.
00:17:45 There was no iron dome in Israel at the time of his purpose.
00:17:49 Just a bunch of, listen, and not to mention that the people he was serving had a bunch
00:17:54 of trauma from the slavery they had been through.
00:17:58 See, a lot of times when God calls you to be a leader of a person, you have to understand
00:18:05 that you're not leading people who haven't been through anything.
00:18:11 Most times you are surrounded by people who are surrounded by trauma.
00:18:18 I want you to hear what I just said.
00:18:22 I want you to look to your left and your right.
00:18:24 Look right now, look left and right.
00:18:25 I'm going to tell you something about that person you just looked at.
00:18:29 They crazy.
00:18:31 I'm just telling you right now.
00:18:34 They crazy.
00:18:35 They cute, but they crazy.
00:18:39 They got on some fly clothes, but they crazy.
00:18:42 They got on Bach Rock 540 right now, but they crazy.
00:18:46 They got some nice shoes on right now, but they are crazy, deranged.
00:19:00 And it's because of the slavery they've been through.
00:19:07 It's because of the trauma they've experienced.
00:19:09 Are y'all still here with me?
00:19:12 Now you take all of that and God says, "That's exactly who I want."
00:19:24 I don't want anybody with a sanitized history because then there was nothing for me to clean
00:19:31 up.
00:19:33 Oh, how many people keep coming in the church focused on everything else other than what
00:19:40 they're supposed to be focused on and then they leave and wonder why they didn't feel
00:19:44 the move of God.
00:19:46 It's because you did not put yourself in the seat of God so that he could speak to your
00:19:51 heart so that you could hear what the spirit has to say.
00:19:54 Because when you hear what the spirit has to say, sometimes he says, "Deal with somebody
00:19:58 you don't want to deal with."
00:20:02 That's your purpose.
00:20:05 Build something you don't have the money to build.
00:20:09 That's your purpose.
00:20:12 Jeremiah, psychologically going through whatever he's going through, he's the weeping prophet.
00:20:19 His purpose has tears coming out of his eyes.
00:20:24 His purpose has him down to his lowest common denominator.
00:20:28 The Bible says that before he was born, God had already shaped him, formed him, called
00:20:40 him and appointed him.
00:20:41 Oh my God, when I read that, Pastor Hammond, it almost blew my mind because I said to myself,
00:20:47 look at how much Jeremiah accomplished before he was born.
00:20:52 Well, I know when I'm preaching to Chris Keon.
00:20:59 Look at how much he has done.
00:21:01 He has already been called before he was formed.
00:21:04 He was already called before he was formed.
00:21:08 He was already called before he was formed, which means purpose precedes pregnancy.
00:21:22 You don't find out what you are doing after you were born.
00:21:28 God has already decided what you were supposed to do before your mama met your daddy.
00:21:34 Your life's work is to find out the reason you were born.
00:21:45 Purpose precedes pregnancy, which means your mama had to meet your daddy even if your daddy
00:21:52 didn't stay around to meet you.
00:21:58 I'm ready to preach now.
00:21:59 You ain't got to say nothing to me.
00:22:00 I feel my swag now, which means I know you think your heart got broke by somebody who
00:22:05 promised you that they were going to be with you forever, but God needed the DNA from that
00:22:09 fool to match with the DNA from you to produce somebody with purpose and your investment
00:22:15 was 30 years worth of tears.
00:22:21 Because let me tell you something, and I want you to forgive my language, but people make
00:22:25 love all day, but they never make life.
00:22:27 How do you expect to explain people who are married who try to have children and can't
00:22:32 and people who met yesterday?
00:22:41 Because God needed that man and that woman to meet to produce that daughter and that
00:22:47 son and you don't get to tell God about the trauma that it caused you because God said
00:22:52 if you would trust in me like you should have, then what you went through wouldn't have hurt
00:22:56 like it did, but because you got in that mess without being in me, now you feel, oh God.
00:23:08 My mama had to meet my daddy.
00:23:10 Now he had a choice.
00:23:12 He didn't make the one that I would have wanted him to make, but his choice didn't have nothing
00:23:16 to do with God's choice.
00:23:17 He needed Kato and Gwen to produce Kion so that Kion could bring you together and tell
00:23:23 you you better get up and find your purpose.
00:23:31 Your baby ain't no accident.
00:23:32 What you did might have been an accident, but that baby was on purpose and on time and
00:23:38 before you met Gerald.
00:24:00 I shout these two words, preceding purpose, said again, preceding purpose, your purpose
00:24:08 came before you are a fetus.
00:24:20 By the way, for those who object to my statement, go and read your Bible.
00:24:24 There was something called the doctrine of election.
00:24:28 The doctrine of election says that those who he foreknew, which means that God knew me
00:24:33 before I was known.
00:24:36 Watch this.
00:24:37 It means God made a personal commitment to me before I was a person.
00:24:43 We can't get this because we live in the cosmos and the Kairos, but you got to understand
00:24:48 that God lives outside of time.
00:24:52 He is from everlasting to…
00:24:57 So you had a purpose before your mama met your daddy.
00:25:04 And a part of that purpose was for your mama to meet your daddy.
00:25:10 Even if you never met your daddy, it was still a part of God's plan.
00:25:15 Oh, come on, talk to me now.
00:25:19 I know what you're saying.
00:25:20 Well, God, marriage and one man, one father, all that.
00:25:23 Yeah, before the fall.
00:25:26 But after Adam and Eve did what they did, all that got messed up.
00:25:30 So before Adam and Eve, everybody's mama was going to be married to everybody's daddy,
00:25:33 and everybody was going to have three children in the house with a white picket fence.
00:25:36 But after they bit that fruit, it was free game.
00:25:48 Somebody say the doctrine of election.
00:25:50 John 15, 16 says, "You did not choose me.
00:25:56 I chose you and anointed you to go out and bear fruit."
00:26:00 I don't know where in the world we got this, "I chose God."
00:26:03 How you chose somebody who knew you before you were formed?
00:26:09 You didn't find God.
00:26:10 God found you.
00:26:11 I was lost.
00:26:12 How you find somebody who's everywhere at the same time?
00:26:13 God ain't never been found by nobody.
00:26:14 But he did find you.
00:26:15 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:16 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:17 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:18 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:19 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:20 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:21 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:23 But he did find you.
00:26:24 I know this ain't for everybody, but just touch somebody.
00:26:26 If you really say, tell them, "I know he found me."
00:26:30 I can't tell you what he found me doing, but I can tell you that he found me.
00:26:34 It ain't your business how he found me, but I just want you to look at me now, because
00:26:38 this is the best I've ever been.
00:26:39 I could be a lot worse than that.
00:26:41 I'm so glad that he found me.
00:26:42 Oh, you ain't shouting it here.
00:26:43 I'm so glad that he found me, because as crazy as I am, you have no idea that I'm
00:26:49 crazy as I am, you have no idea what I would be doing with my life had he not rescued me.
00:26:56 Don't you get food thinking you're sitting next to somebody who good because they in
00:27:03 church?
00:27:04 You're sitting next to somebody just holding on.
00:27:09 They got to pray every day.
00:27:10 They got to fast every minute.
00:27:11 Every minute, they got to say, "God, hold this tongue.
00:27:14 Hold my mule.
00:27:15 Do something with this mind.
00:27:16 I don't know what I'm going to do, Lord.
00:27:17 Save me."
00:27:22 You don't understand.
00:27:23 You sitting next to people who pray while they sin.
00:27:26 Oh, don't make me.
00:27:28 I'll fight every one of y'all.
00:27:29 Don't look at me like that.
00:27:30 I said, "You sitting next to somebody who pray when they know they on their way somewhere,
00:27:38 they shouldn't be, and they saying, 'God, let this car run out of gas before I get there.'"
00:27:41 You
00:28:09 had a purpose before you had a post.
00:28:24 Before you were formed.
00:28:27 God didn't say, "Jeremiah, I know you."
00:28:29 He said, "I knew you."
00:28:30 He didn't say, "Jeremiah, I'm trying to get to know you."
00:28:33 He said, "Boy, I knew you before you knew to be nude."
00:28:36 Yes, in the face.
00:28:49 I knew you before you knew to be nude, and before anybody knew to you was already known.
00:29:01 So I need you to stop walking around this earth like you ain't got no purpose.
00:29:05 You stop walking around here all defeated and ashy and looking sad.
00:29:09 I need you to stop being dry, walking around here like you just a nobody.
00:29:13 Do you know you were picked and elected?
00:29:15 You won an election.
00:29:17 You were picked by God.
00:29:18 You were picked out of millions and billions of trillions of people, and he still saved
00:29:23 you the way you are.
00:29:24 You ought to be grateful that you are here.
00:29:35 You somebody, even when you feel like nobody.
00:29:40 It's just me.
00:29:42 It ain't no just me.
00:29:45 It's me.
00:29:48 In God, outside of him, it's just me.
00:29:51 But when I got heaven backing me, it's me.
00:29:55 Who am I talking to?
00:30:00 I want you to start walking like you chosen.
00:30:02 I don't know how chosen people walk, but I imagine it's something like this.
00:30:06 Tell by the way I walk, I ain't from around here.
00:30:12 You better walk like you chosen.
00:30:13 You better talk like you chosen.
00:30:15 You better show up to the job interview like you already got it.
00:30:18 I want you to walk up in there saying, "Listen, I don't know who you interviewing after me,
00:30:22 but I can give them my sentiments on the way out the door.
00:30:25 This is my job.
00:30:26 This is my position.
00:30:28 This is my opportunity.
00:30:29 I'm here to claim it because I'm in my purpose.
00:30:32 Who am I talking to in this room and online?"
00:30:40 Those two people said, "If it got my name on it, it's mine."
00:30:49 Which is why I have to get to this place because now that you know where you should be, let
00:30:55 me tell you what most of us are.
00:30:57 The devil has you tricked because you are in the crux of an identity crisis.
00:31:07 You don't even know who you are.
00:31:09 You know everybody's business except for yours.
00:31:13 You know who dating who on Instagram and you know who just went to jail and you don't even
00:31:18 know what you're doing tomorrow.
00:31:22 You know who pregnant by who and who for...
00:31:25 Especially if you're from New Orleans, you know who for who.
00:31:29 You're out here making groceries and all the other stuff you do, but you don't even know
00:31:35 what you're doing with your life.
00:31:42 How you know who broke up and you don't even know who you with.
00:31:46 Come on, what you going to do?
00:31:56 Sorry.
00:31:57 Why are you in everybody else's business and don't know yours?
00:32:05 Why are you following everybody else's timeline and you don't even know your timetable?
00:32:08 What you going to do, dog?
00:32:12 You're looking at me like you're going to do something.
00:32:14 What are you going to do?
00:32:22 Instead of being nosy, be fruitful.
00:32:31 You're not lazy.
00:32:32 You just use your energy for the wrong stuff and you don't have none left for the right
00:32:36 stuff.
00:32:42 All of your business ain't none of mine.
00:32:47 I don't care what you do.
00:32:48 I don't care where you do it, but I got to focus on my purpose.
00:32:57 It'll make you…
00:33:03 Man, what is this?
00:33:08 Wow, I got to go through this.
00:33:14 God gives gifts without repentance, so he ain't going to take it back.
00:33:17 He made you.
00:33:19 No Creator has ever asked a creation for permission.
00:33:24 I made you for this.
00:33:26 Do it.
00:33:28 You think I would have picked preaching?
00:33:30 No.
00:33:33 You think this is what I wanted to do?
00:33:34 You got to be crazy.
00:33:37 You think I want to live my life being judged by people who are worse than me?
00:33:46 You think I want to walk around telling people, "Yeah, but you're a preacher.
00:33:49 I'm not, but ain't you saved?"
00:33:52 As if the Bible has a preacher Bible.
00:33:56 Somebody show me my Bible that's different from yours.
00:34:03 I wanted to hoop.
00:34:04 That's what I wanted to do.
00:34:05 I wanted to hoop.
00:34:06 That's what I wanted to do with my life.
00:34:07 I just wanted to play basketball.
00:34:08 I wanted to play basketball because when you're out there and it's just you and your homeboys,
00:34:12 you can get it done.
00:34:13 You step out of there and see…
00:34:15 Basketball is the place where you can take out your frustrations for what happens.
00:34:21 That's what I wanted to do with my life, but when I decided what I wanted to do, God
00:34:27 said, "I didn't form you to hoop.
00:34:34 I let you use basketball so that you can draw the people who were going to help me build
00:34:42 what I was going to do with your life so in 2024 your high school coach can come and say,
00:34:49 'I feel blessed because God is already over here.
00:34:58 Why are you still living over there?'"
00:35:04 Because purpose precedes pregnancy.
00:35:06 You have a preceding purpose.
00:35:09 What God had for you to do, it was already decided before you were born, and you do not
00:35:15 get to change that trajectory because you're uncomfortable.
00:35:27 Do you know that you get yourself in trouble with God when you deny his purpose?
00:35:35 That's why Saul found himself in trouble because God picked David and Saul said, "I can't agree
00:35:40 with your choice."
00:35:41 God says, "Okay, well, I disagree with you."
00:35:44 See, you are literally God's choice, which means every time you hate yourself, you hate
00:35:49 God's decision.
00:35:54 So if God made you and you don't like you, then that means you're saying, "God, I don't
00:35:57 like what you made."
00:36:02 Now you are at enmity with God because you disagree with what he decided.
00:36:07 Oh, I'm going to talk to you all today.
00:36:14 That's why I want you to walk with courage.
00:36:15 Somebody say courage.
00:36:17 I want you to let anybody make you fearful that they have anything to do with your start
00:36:24 or finish.
00:36:31 There will be people who will walk out of your life and they think that when they leave,
00:36:35 you will fail.
00:36:37 But what they will soon find out is that the reason why you were failing is because they
00:36:41 were there.
00:36:44 I know what I just said.
00:36:48 And they're going to walk out of your life and all of a sudden, everything that you've
00:36:51 been wondering, "Why is this not happening?" is because the people who you were depending
00:36:56 on in your life to make it happen were there too long.
00:36:59 And God says, "I'm about to release them so that I can show you and them that I'm in control
00:37:04 of this whole thing."
00:37:07 Put this in your pipe and smoke it.
00:37:09 Anybody who isn't on your birth certificate will have the opportunity to sign your death
00:37:13 certificate.
00:37:14 If you were not there when I started, you will not see my end.
00:37:18 God is the one.
00:37:27 Somebody break up with you and they think, "I'm going to watch them fail."
00:37:31 All right.
00:37:32 Don't hold your breath because you're going to die.
00:37:35 Waiting on me to fail.
00:37:36 Not because I'm good, not because of my righteousness, but I got heaven backing me.
00:37:42 And if you act right, he'll back both of us.
00:37:48 Because if he got grace for me, he got grace for you.
00:37:52 So let's all...
00:37:53 Can we all...
00:37:54 I got to let you all go home because I know some of you all want some garlic bread and
00:38:03 Texas toast.
00:38:15 All right.
00:38:16 So we have a proceeding purpose, but here's what makes this difficult, Bishop.
00:38:25 God picked us because we had a proceeding purpose, but every one of us, like Jeremiah,
00:38:29 got problematic picks.
00:38:34 Come on, y'all.
00:38:35 See, don't act like God getting something when he chose you.
00:38:39 Okay, let's just...
00:38:41 Let's keep it real.
00:38:42 What does God get when he gets you?
00:38:45 Somebody who might quit sometimes, somebody who might show up sometimes, somebody who's
00:38:48 going to complain about everything, somebody who's...
00:38:52 I want you to really think about this.
00:38:53 What does God get when he gets you?
00:38:55 The Bible says, "At our best, we're just filthy rats."
00:39:00 What does God really get when he chose you?
00:39:02 This is why you ought to praise him, is because he picked nothing.
00:39:08 And anybody who thinks other than that is just arrogant.
00:39:11 You are nothing more than dirt.
00:39:12 The Bible says he created you from the dirt of the ground, and the way your skin cells
00:39:16 held together is by the spit of God.
00:39:18 So you are saliva and dirt.
00:39:24 How many of y'all grew up back in the day, people don't do it no more.
00:39:27 How many of y'all remember back in the day when you used to take baths?
00:39:30 We live in a bath-less society right now.
00:39:35 How many of y'all remember when all you could do is take a bath?
00:39:40 Now, how many of y'all remember that ring?
00:39:44 Oh, come on now.
00:39:47 Y'all be acting so funny.
00:39:49 Let me see how old you are.
00:39:51 Then you had to take some Comet or some Ajax.
00:39:55 Oh, I knew y'all were my kind of people.
00:39:58 I can't deal with this Traveloso generation.
00:40:00 They don't do it like Comet and Ajax used to do.
00:40:07 I'm talking about in a cardboard bottle and with an aluminum top, and at the bottom, because
00:40:15 of the moisture, it had a little, and you could.
00:40:23 You had to open it like biscuits to get the rest of it out.
00:40:32 And see, Comet and Ajax made sure that you're clean because it left streaks behind.
00:40:36 You have to wipe over and over and over and over and over again.
00:40:42 You know why that ring was around the tub?
00:40:45 Because you dirt.
00:40:48 Got in the bath water looking clear, got out looking like chicken broth because you are
00:40:52 dirt.
00:40:53 I don't know what's wrong with me today.
00:41:02 It's like when you wear white and you got dirt around the collar.
00:41:05 I don't even do nothing.
00:41:06 How do I get dirt?
00:41:07 You dirt!
00:41:08 God says it's okay because I like to play in the dirt.
00:41:32 That's where I got Adam from.
00:41:36 I make you from dirt, but then I make you allergic to dust so that you don't breathe
00:41:45 in too much of yourself without having to get rid of it.
00:41:59 Ask Jonah what happens when you don't do what God says.
00:42:02 You end up somewhere talking about, "Oh!"
00:42:13 In the belly of a whale, somewhere between destiny and digestion.
00:42:23 Somewhere between about to conquer the world or being conquered by your issues.
00:42:35 What are you going to do?
00:42:38 Lord, I can't speak well.
00:42:41 Those are reasonable doubts.
00:42:46 I don't have the eloquence and I don't have the experience.
00:42:51 Reasonable doubts.
00:42:53 Everybody in here has reasonable doubts.
00:42:57 I get it.
00:42:59 Nobody taught you how to do it.
00:43:00 I get it.
00:43:01 Nobody shows you how to manage money.
00:43:03 I get it.
00:43:04 You grew up in the hood.
00:43:05 You didn't have that kind of teaching.
00:43:07 I get it.
00:43:08 But once God starts to show you another way, it is your job from that point to stop talking
00:43:17 about how you were raised.
00:43:21 Come on, man.
00:43:22 I'm trying my best.
00:43:24 See, you can't keep going the rest of your lifetime about nobody loved me and didn't
00:43:28 nobody hug me and that's how I was raised and my mama didn't do this to me and my daddy
00:43:32 wasn't there for me.
00:43:33 Okay, you are 62.
00:43:35 At this stage in your life, you got to turn that trauma into an engine and you got to
00:43:42 learn that I went all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord.
00:43:47 I want you to touch three people and I want you to see if they got the Holy Ghost and
00:43:51 look at them and say, "It was good that you were afflicted."
00:43:54 See, you only told one person.
00:43:58 I said three.
00:43:59 "It was good.
00:44:00 It was good.
00:44:01 It was good that I was afflicted."
00:44:03 Why?
00:44:04 "That I might learn the statues of God."
00:44:08 Pain teaches you purpose more than pain.
00:44:17 Your battle was not a coincidence nor was it an accident.
00:44:21 God made you struggle in the area that you struggled so you could gain the muscle in
00:44:25 the area that you needed to gain it because where others are weak, you need to be strong
00:44:29 and where others are strong, you don't have to be, but you went through the trauma you
00:44:33 went through because that's the muscle you need for destiny.
00:44:41 Pain is a gift.
00:44:47 It shows you how much you can handle without folding.
00:44:50 Oh man, you've been through a lot and I know it.
00:44:57 I know it.
00:44:58 Divorce ain't easy.
00:45:00 Bankruptcy ain't easy.
00:45:03 Some of y'all weren't even married, but you were living like it and they broke your heart.
00:45:06 They made you a promise and they didn't keep it.
00:45:09 I will.
00:45:10 And you can't walk around here talking about, "Woe is me and I don't trust nobody."
00:45:15 Why in the world would you not trust the future because of the past?
00:45:23 You got a good man sitting beside you right now, but he paying for what somebody else
00:45:26 did.
00:45:27 If you were going to be mad at somebody, you should have stayed with them.
00:45:30 The purpose of breaking up is so I don't have to be mad at you no more.
00:45:42 Be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.
00:45:46 You can do more than you've done.
00:45:47 You can go further than you've gone, but you are stuck.
00:45:51 I can't speak.
00:45:54 I don't have the money.
00:45:55 I don't have the connections.
00:45:58 One of the things my coach used to tell me, "Every time we made a bad pass, I still can
00:46:08 see this."
00:46:09 I'm 42 right now.
00:46:10 I can still see it when I was 16.
00:46:12 If I made a bad pass, this is what Coach Bobby Miles would do.
00:46:17 "Keon!"
00:46:19 Still see it right now.
00:46:20 "Hey!
00:46:21 23!"
00:46:22 I don't know what all the extra was about, but...
00:46:27 "Kiss."
00:46:28 Keep it simple, stupid.
00:46:31 I knew what he was saying.
00:46:32 I knew the signal.
00:46:33 Every time I did something dumb, took a shot that I wasn't...
00:46:41 Life doesn't have a coach, so you have to be your own.
00:46:45 Every time you see yourself doing something outside of your training and your purpose,
00:46:49 I want you to look at yourself in the mirror and say, "Hey, Keon!"
00:46:53 They're going to think you're crazy, but do it anyway.
00:46:59 Touch their name and say, "Keep it simple."
00:47:00 "Lord, I can't speak, and I'm too young."
00:47:11 Now, this is what I love about God.
00:47:18 God says, "Okay, son, I need you to speak to the nations.
00:47:25 You're telling me what your weakness is.
00:47:27 Let's solve the issue."
00:47:30 The Bible says God reaches out and touches his mouth, because the thing about God is
00:47:37 if you bring him your weakness, he will strengthen it.
00:47:44 He touched him on the mouth, and all of a sudden he says, "Let's test it."
00:47:52 He said, "What do you see?"
00:47:57 Oh my God.
00:47:58 Anybody love the word of God?
00:48:01 I love the word of God.
00:48:02 Now, if this is boring you, I can't help you.
00:48:04 I ain't got nothing else for you.
00:48:05 This is all I got.
00:48:06 He says, "What do you see?"
00:48:07 He says, "I see almond trees."
00:48:14 Is that what you see?
00:48:15 Yeah.
00:48:16 Yeah, I see almond branches.
00:48:20 Okay.
00:48:21 Now how many of y'all remember the advent of Pearl Harbor and the tense relationship
00:48:28 between America and Japan?
00:48:30 So if you go to DC, anybody ever been to DC in the springtime, and you see all of those
00:48:34 pink trees?
00:48:36 They're called cherry blossoms.
00:48:37 That was the gift.
00:48:39 Japan gave America 2,000 of those trees to continue the relationship.
00:48:44 So if you ever go to DC in the springtime, it's beautiful.
00:48:47 You got pink trees everywhere because the cherry blossom is the first sign that the
00:48:53 spring is near.
00:48:56 In Jeremiah's town of Ananoth, they didn't have cherry blossoms.
00:49:00 They had almond trees.
00:49:02 In the Hebrew, they had two words, shokad or shoked, which means either the waking or
00:49:07 the walking.
00:49:09 They would call the almond tree the waking tree or the watching tree because they would
00:49:17 watch it.
00:49:18 Whenever they would see almonds coming, they knew it was going from winter to spring.
00:49:24 So when God says, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" and he says, "I see almond trees blossoming,"
00:49:31 what he's actually saying is, "God, I am excited because I see that the season…"
00:49:36 Oh, y'all missed that.
00:49:39 Sit up so I can hit you in the forehead.
00:49:43 I don't know who I'm talking to, but I want you to touch somebody who look like they got
00:49:46 the joy of the Lord and tell them, "The season's about to change.
00:49:49 The season is about to change.
00:49:50 The season…"
00:49:51 Or if they didn't say nothing, find you another neighbor.
00:49:54 Find somebody who's been through too much to not be excited about the announcement from
00:49:58 God that the season is about to shift.
00:50:01 Your marriage is shifting.
00:50:02 Your money is shifting.
00:50:03 Your health is shifting.
00:50:04 Somebody shout, "Shift!
00:50:05 Shift!
00:50:06 Shift!
00:50:07 Shift!"
00:50:08 He says, "I see the blossom," and he got excited about it.
00:50:20 Here's the problem with the church.
00:50:21 Now, everybody stop.
00:50:23 Don't nobody move because I know they're about to act funny in a minute.
00:50:27 Look around at all the people who are standing right now, and this is the problem, that we
00:50:34 don't get excited about signs.
00:50:37 We only shout when we get miracles.
00:50:40 God says, "If you don't start shouting when it's blossoming, don't expect for it to bloom."
00:50:46 I need somebody in here that's going to shout just because I said it's going to be over.
00:50:55 I feel glory in the room.
00:50:57 High-five three people and say, "God's about to give you miracles, signs, and wonders."
00:51:05 Somebody shout about the sign.
00:51:17 God says, "I'm not looking for you to give me praise when you sign the contract.
00:51:22 I'm looking for you to give me praise when you find out that there is a contract to be
00:51:27 signed.
00:51:29 Don't praise me when you get in the house.
00:51:33 Praise me when you drive past it and somebody lives in it.
00:51:37 Or help me, somebody.
00:51:39 Don't praise God when you get the car.
00:51:42 Praise God when you sit on TikTok because it is no secret what God can do, what he's
00:51:50 done for others.
00:51:54 Slap somebody and say, "He'll do it for you."
00:51:57 Tell somebody, "He'll do it for you."
00:52:04 Let me say it this way.
00:52:07 Don't wait until the battle is over.
00:52:13 Shout right now.
00:52:20 Shout.
00:52:23 Shout.
00:52:25 I can't hear nobody.
00:52:28 I can't hear nobody.
00:52:30 I can't hear nobody.
00:52:32 Weeping me in duel for a night.
00:52:38 Shout joy.
00:52:45 God says he's about to turn it.
00:52:48 He's about to shift the season.
00:52:50 You're going from the winter to the spring.
00:52:53 You're going from the last to the first.
00:52:56 You're going from glory to glory.
00:52:57 Give your neighbor a high five and say, "Shift, shift, shift, shift, shift, shift, shift,
00:52:58 shift."
00:52:59 You cannot wait until God delivers you to say he's a deliverer.
00:53:26 You have to shout.
00:53:29 Now, that's how Jehoshaphat got to the battleground and all of the enemies were already dead because
00:53:34 of your praise God before the battle.
00:53:36 The enemy will die before it's time to fight.
00:53:44 Jeremiah was excited about a glimpse of hope.
00:53:52 This is real gratitude.
00:53:54 It's manipulation when you only thank me after you get it.
00:54:01 Gratitude comes before the action, not after.
00:54:08 You are more likely to get something from somebody you appreciate than you are to only
00:54:12 appreciate them after you get the gift.
00:54:19 This is what most parents do when it comes time to give their children stuff.
00:54:22 Sometimes you don't give it to them because you don't appreciate nothing no way.
00:54:26 How many of you ever said that to your children?
00:54:31 You don't even appreciate what I've done.
00:54:35 You got to learn to praise God for it.
00:54:40 Every once in a while, God will play pick a boo.
00:54:46 Now you see it, now you don't.
00:54:52 You can't wait until you got a million dollars in your bank account to give them glory.
00:54:59 I got Bible, I got Bible.
00:55:02 Be thou faithful over a few things.
00:55:09 You got to thank God for that little raggedy child you got.
00:55:12 They going to be a doctor one day, but right now they a knucklehead.
00:55:21 They going to the league, but right now they lazy.
00:55:26 Their marriage going to work out, but right now it's rocky.
00:55:34 But every day ain't bad unless you make it.
00:55:39 I don't care how mad you are at somebody, every day ain't bad.
00:55:48 Every day is only bad when you refuse to let a good day affect you.
00:55:53 You mad that long, you decided to be mad that long because you have had enough to be grateful
00:55:57 for between the last argument and the next one.
00:56:06 People ask me all the time, "Do you and First Lady fight?"
00:56:09 Like everybody else, but we ain't going to stay mad, I don't play it.
00:56:12 We ain't mad.
00:56:14 We don't sleep in no separate beds.
00:56:16 You crazy?
00:56:17 Ask her, "If she thinks she getting up and going to another bed, I'll take the cover
00:56:21 off the bed and drag it where she at and lay right next to her."
00:56:25 You going to lay next to me mad.
00:56:27 "Oh, yes, you are, and you going to kiss me goodnight.
00:56:35 And if you face the wall, that means I'm the big spoon today."
00:56:38 No, that's our bed, not my bed, not your bed.
00:56:48 So you got to bring it together.
00:56:54 In this life, you will have trials and tribulations, but don't worry, I've overcome the world.
00:57:03 It's hard out here, but you tougher than out here.
00:57:07 Touch your neighbor and say, "I'm tougher than this."
00:57:15 I'm ministering to you right now.
00:57:16 The sermon is over.
00:57:17 He says, "Jeremiah, I'm going to make you a fortified city."
00:57:21 If I had time, I'd preach it.
00:57:22 A fortified city, an iron pillar, and a brazen wall.
00:57:26 I can just real quickly…
00:57:30 Everybody say iron.
00:57:31 Do you want to know why the Bible says iron sharpens iron?
00:57:34 Because at that time, that was the hardest material they had.
00:57:38 So he says, "I'm going to make you an iron pillar."
00:57:40 Iron at that time couldn't be bent, so he says, "I'm going to make sure that your destiny
00:57:47 doesn't bend you out of shape.
00:57:50 I'm going to make you an iron pillar.
00:57:56 Fortified city.
00:57:57 I'm going to put a defense around you that you don't have to maintain.
00:58:01 I'll make it impenetrable.
00:58:03 I'll make you a bronze, brazen, bronze, brazen wall."
00:58:09 This is important because if you look at the tabernacle, inside of it, all of the implements
00:58:15 that were furnished by Solomon, everything inside of the Ark of the Covenant and everything
00:58:20 inside of the tabernacle of Moses was gold.
00:58:27 The table of incense was gold.
00:58:29 The golden lampstand was gold.
00:58:31 The table of showbread was gold.
00:58:34 The golden lampstand was hammered out of one piece of gold.
00:58:39 Why couldn't it be many parts?
00:58:41 Because it's one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one piece of gold.
00:58:47 But everything outside of the tabernacle was made of bronze.
00:58:52 And the bronze was received from Egypt when they came out of slavery.
00:59:01 This is important.
00:59:03 Did you hear what he ... Not a bronze wall.
00:59:13 Do you know how much bronze it takes to make a wall?
00:59:19 The bronze that they used for the outside of the tabernacle came from Egypt.
00:59:25 I get the revelation.
00:59:26 When God says, "I'm going to make you a bronze wall," He says, "I'm going to build something
00:59:31 around you with your enemy's materials."
00:59:34 That's why you need to say, "It was good that I was afflicted."
00:59:43 That's why you need to thank God for every person who didn't like you, for every person
00:59:46 who tried to destroy you.
00:59:48 That's more bronze coming to your wall.
00:59:51 God says, "I'm going to use what the enemy meant for evil for good, and your enemy is
01:00:01 going to finance your defense."
01:00:05 I want you to think about this.
01:00:06 You can Google it when you get home.
01:00:09 The biggest cost expenditure on the budget of this country is defense, and we spend more
01:00:18 on defense than any nation in the world, which means that the biggest part of your budget
01:00:23 your enemy is going to have to finance.
01:00:30 Here's what God told me.
01:00:32 You're getting ready to walk into a season where you no longer have to defend yourself.
01:00:46 There is a difference between being defended and being defensive.
01:00:52 I want you to take this word out of your vocabulary.
01:00:54 To my defense, the reason why you're offended is you're always defensive.
01:01:07 You have a wall around you.
01:01:08 They can't do nothing to you.
01:01:12 You're made out of iron.
01:01:13 They can't bend you.
01:01:14 God is going to use your enemies to finance the wall he's going to surround you by.
01:01:23 Thank God you were in Egypt.
01:01:27 You didn't know what you were gaining when you were there.
01:01:31 You did not know what being raised in a single-parent home was actually doing for your character.
01:01:39 All you know is you went and you seen your friends, and their daddy was at everything,
01:01:42 and you were looking around, and yours wasn't.
01:01:44 All it did was make sure you were there for yours.
01:01:52 Don't waste your pain.
01:01:55 Use it for something.
01:01:59 Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.
01:02:04 I promise you no weapon formed against you will be able to prosper.
01:02:10 I promise you that.
01:02:11 It doesn't matter where you come from.
01:02:15 You don't need to look like anybody else.
01:02:16 You don't have to live where anybody else lives.
01:02:17 You don't have to have what anybody else…
01:02:19 Just be yourself.
01:02:20 I promise you there's enough room in the world for you.
