Two men involved in a street brawl which resulted in police being battered over the head with a bicycle have been jailed. Hamad Gernas and Adam Issa assaulted four officers after violence erupted in Lozells. They were jailed for seven and six months respectively.

Police have charged a man with three counts of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog following an incident last September in Bordesley Green. The 62 year old man is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates court on the 22nd September

An antique painting valued at just £80 has sold for £18,000 at auction after turning out to be the 'lost' work of a renowned 19th Century artist. The artwork by renowned painter David Cox from Birmingham was discovered during a routine valuation
