00:00 The Government of Venezuela expressed its repudiation of the most recent attempts of
00:05 blackmail and interference in its internal affairs by the Government of the United States.
00:10 In a communique issued, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister states, "Venezuela absolutely and
00:16 unequivocally rejects the neocolonialist interventionisms that Washington is trying to impose against
00:22 an independent country that fully exercises its national severity, and that has the right
00:28 to choose its own destiny without the constant pressure and aggression of a government complicit
00:34 in the massacre and genocide in Gaza, with a bloody history of human rights violations
00:39 in our America and with a record of repression of its own indigenous, Afro-descendant and
00:44 migrant population."
00:46 The document states, "The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela calls
00:51 for the union and mobilization of all the Venezuelan people in defense of national sovereignty
00:56 and international solidarity to repudiate this interference in support of sectors of
01:02 the oligarchy, the big names linked to past calls for the imposition of illegal sanctions
01:09 that affected the national, regional and global economy."
01:13 The document concludes by stating the following, "Venezuela will not yield to any blackmail.
01:19 Its institutions will continue to comply with the laws and the national constitution according
01:24 to the mandate received by the Venezuelan people.
01:27 Likewise, it will take all necessary measures to continue the course of economic growth
01:33 and social development that it has undertaken with its own effort in the midst of economic
01:39 hostilities applied against its citizens."
01:41 Venezuela's response comes following the United States government's resumption of
01:59 sanctions against Caracas after the South American nation's top court upheld the disqualification
02:05 of opposition leader MarĂa Corina Machado.
02:08 The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, OFAC, announced that
02:13 it was resuming its sanctions against the Venezuelan gold sector and was prohibiting
02:18 the operations of the general mining company.
02:21 On the other hand, the United States government warned that the concessions given to Venezuelan
02:26 oil will be revoked if the Bolivarian nation does not lift the political ban against Machado.
02:35 The President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge RodrĂguez, rejected the
02:44 interference of the United States government in the internal affairs of the country.
02:48 During the extraordinary session of the Venezuelan Parliament, RodrĂguez denounced Washington's
02:53 declarations and the operations of its unauthorized embassy operating from Colombia.
02:59 The high official reiterated that no state can get involved in the internal affairs of
03:05 another country.
03:06 Likewise, the President of the National Assembly ratified that the decision of the Political
03:11 Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice must be respected by the Venezuelan
03:16 extreme right wing, as well as the agreements signed in Barbados with a sector of the opposition.
03:29 Because the sovereign decision taken by the Political Administrative Chamber of the Supreme
03:33 Court of Justice to activate a mechanism designed within the framework of the Barbados Agreement,
03:39 which was drafted by the opposition delegation of the Unitary Platform, and which expressly
03:54 states that the decision of that Political Administrative Chamber must be respected,
03:58 whatever it may be, because if the only acceptable decision were the one the oligarchy and the
04:03 extreme right wanted, then what do we need a court for?
04:16 The courts exist since they were invented to settle an issue, either one or the other
04:21 option.
04:30 That decision, taken last Friday, will still remain the same on April 17, April 18, April
04:36 19, and in every day of 2024 and 2025, and so on until the end of history, because it
04:54 is res judicata.
04:56 The court has already ruled, and there is no threat of anybody changing that ruling.
05:00 Save yourself the effort.
