00:00 A Tanzanian woman who married a man from China's Xinjiang recalled her time in the northwestern
00:06 Chinese region, saying Xinjiang is a beautiful region and she enjoys living there.
00:12 Hadiya Msham Abdullah from Zanzibar, Tanzania, tied the knot with Dilsha Turzan in Kashgar
00:18 in Xinjiang three years ago.
00:21 The couple, now spending a holiday in Hadiya's hometown, said they tried to learn each other's
00:26 culture, which also explains why they blend so well.
00:31 Coping with different cultures is very easy because we are all humans and our basic needs
00:37 is to eat, sleep and breathe.
00:42 So it's very easy for me to cope with those.
00:48 I try to learn their culture and they learn my culture and that is the way we blend together
00:56 very well.
00:57 We are educated.
00:58 We are very open-minded.
00:59 We can accept new things together.
01:04 We can learn together.
01:06 We understand each other.
01:09 This is very important to me and my wife.
01:16 Hadiya said, based on her own experience, China is doing a great job in advancing and
01:21 safeguarding human rights in Xinjiang.
01:25 China is a very beautiful country, but if I have to describe China in one word, that
01:31 would be peace and safety.
01:34 And that is the most important thing.
01:37 I have traveled in Xinjiang, in more than three cities in Xinjiang, and Xinjiang is
01:43 very beautiful.
01:44 I have been in Kashgar, where we have settled down now with my husband, and I have been
01:52 in Urumqi, which is a very developed city.
01:56 Tall buildings, so many developed areas, and Kashgar is still a developing city, but it's
02:05 more traditional and more cultural and colorful, and there's nice food, there's delicious
02:15 food, there is excellent, beautiful music.
02:21 So there's tourists that come from around the world to visit Kashgar.
02:27 So it's a very beautiful city, very peaceful.
02:30 People are very warm-hearted and loving.
02:33 So I think it's an excellent idea to take development as a key to improve human rights.
02:45 That is something that China is doing, is developing their society in order for people
02:52 to live, for people to learn education systems, and then in order for people to grow in every
03:01 aspect of life.
03:02 So that is an excellent idea.
03:04 If you are going to develop a country, you are going to develop the human rights of the
03:11 people in that country.
03:13 I love living in Xinjiang.
03:15 I love being in Kashgar.
03:18 In Kashgar, where Uyghur people live in majority, and their lifestyle is good, their food is
03:29 good, they have work, they go to work, they provide jobs, people can do their own businesses.
03:39 So I think there is no discrimination when it comes to different ethnicities in China.
03:47 The government treats everyone equally, and that is an excellent way to run a country.
03:53 Thank you.
