Hisense UX 110-Inch Mini-LED TV Review

Tom's Guide looked at the Hisense UX 110-inch Mini-LED TV at CES 2024. Hisense claims the big-screen set can reach a peak brightness of 10,000 nits and uses 40,000 local dimming zones. Those are some impressive specs that would definitely make this UX one of the best TVs of the year.... if it ultimately lives up to expectations. Here's an overview of the key features.

00:00 Here it is the Hisense 110UX Mini LED TV that Hisense is hoping to claim as the best mini LED TV of the year
00:08 Thanks to, wait for it, 10,000 nits peak brightness. There's a lot to unpack with that. So let's go take a closer look
00:15 Yup, 10,000 nits peak brightness. That is a very bold claim that would blow us away if we're true
00:24 Now I'm not saying it's not true
00:25 But it's unclear what the sustained peak brightness is which basically means how bright the picture would be
00:30 Fully on this 110 inch screen. If we're just going based off of anecdotal viewing up close the brightness looks stellar
00:37 Hisense has said that they added an anti-glare filter
00:41 I still am seeing a bit of glare, but mind you we are in a convention center with tons of beaming lights
00:46 So the big thing we wanted to know is how the TV can get this bright without overheating and damaging the pixels
00:53 Hisense tells us there is a very large heat sink on the panel itself to help diffuse heat
00:58 But there is also a large ventilation system on the back of the TV just to help keep everything cool
01:03 And obviously we have to talk about the design
01:07 There aren't a lot of TVs that look like this on the market with this bold silver frame and these beveled edges
01:13 The speaker grilles you can see are built onto the edges here
01:16 Although they tell us that the speaker is actually up facing to help raise the overall
01:20 Soundscape these help more with the surround sound this TV has 4.2 point 2 channel with Dolby Atmos
01:26 Sound also gets beefed up with this subwoofer that doubles as a sand
01:32 Hisense isn't able to confirm whether this is gonna come to the US
01:35 However, it gives us a sense of what a 100 inch TV would actually look like in our home with our decor
01:40 Let's talk about the processor real quick because Hisense is saying it's a big improvement over
01:46 Conventional TVs the Hive you engine X is loaded with AI for HDR detailing based on frame by frame object
01:53 analysis face detection and more
01:55 Expect more news like pricing and availability on this massive UX sometime in March in the meantime
