00:03 Now to the individuals in the quarterback comparison.
00:06 Blew it, there are the narratives entering conference championship Sunday.
00:10 Then there are the numbers, 274.5 for Brock Purdy,
00:14 who was not great last week by any means, 23 of 39 for 252.
00:19 In his NFC Championship game appearance last year in Philly,
00:23 it was short-lived, knocked out of the game early, did come back
00:26 because the Niners had no other options at QB.
00:29 Jared Goff is thrown for more than 255.5, at least 277
00:34 in both of the playoff games this year for Detroit.
00:37 He returns to his native Northern California, albeit outdoors,
00:41 on Sunday night in Santa Clara.
00:44 Blew it, what do you expect out of the quarterbacks matching up
00:47 in the NFC title game?
00:49 Yeah, like I've mentioned before, I think the real key is making sure
00:53 that they stay clean throughout as much of the game as they can.
00:56 Goff has been really good in the playoffs.
00:59 Goff's been really good for most of the season.
01:02 He's obviously throwing to an all-pro player in Amon Ross St. Brown.
01:05 The Niners have had some injuries over the course of the season
01:08 to their secondary as well.
01:10 It doesn't have the same challenges, I would say, as Detroit's secondary,
01:13 and Detroit's secondary is dealing with more weapons.
01:17 But I think this is going to be a case for Goff to utilize LaPorta and Gibbs
01:25 and Amon Ross St. Brown in the best way possible.
01:27 I believe it was a total of 17 receptions between Gibbs and LaPorta
01:31 last week alone.
01:33 So that is a big recipe for success for them.
01:35 But keep in mind, you're going against a linebacker core in the Niners
01:39 that will make it as hard for Sam LaPorta as any team has made it this year.
01:44 Drake Greenlaw and Fred Warner are going to give him a very hard time.
01:49 I think it is extremely important that Goff continues to stay away
01:53 from any interceptions.
01:55 But what concerns me about that is they're going to have to be too conservative.
01:59 Will they then have to rely so heavily on the run game that it becomes
02:03 Detroit having to run over the Niners, which is a task in and of itself
02:07 that is a little bit too much.
02:09 It's why I'm leaning towards the Niners winning this game.
02:11 But again, I think the spread is a little too fat here.
02:14 I just think that the Lions can keep this game close.
02:17 I think it's lower scoring than the total implies.
02:21 I just think this leads to a Niners win, but it's really about how clean
02:28 can he be in these pressure situations.
02:30 If the Lions get out to a lead, which is going to be the key for them
02:34 to win this game, the Lions get out to a 10-point lead, say, in the first half,
02:38 that's the recipe for them winning.
02:40 This is not a come-from-behind Lions victory.
