00:11 Whenever the MMDA conducts anti-littering operations,
00:19 the people who are protesting are the ones who are timing it.
00:22 Eight days out of every ten times they throw garbage on the street,
00:27 cigarette butts are thrown.
00:29 Others were caught, but the paper was covered with candy.
00:34 This small thing is part of the 37,000 tons of garbage
00:41 that is generated by them every day.
00:44 85% of the garbage in the markets is compostable.
00:49 In the household, 50% of household waste is also compostable.
00:56 So if the barangay is going to apply or every barangay is going to adapt,
01:03 50% will be gone immediately if they compost it,
01:07 the landfill will not be visible anymore.
01:09 The MMDA is pushing a model for what they call the Road to Zero Waste Program.
01:15 In Kamuning Market in Quezon City,
01:17 they installed the Industrial Rapid Composting Machine.
01:21 It can process two tons of garbage in eight hours.
01:25 It's a bit expensive, but based on our computation,
01:29 you can save more than renting a truck that will throw garbage.
01:34 The vegetables and fish that are cleaned or the leftover food becomes fat.
01:41 And if before, two trucks of garbage were collected in the market,
01:45 now it's just one.
01:47 This is the Cocoa Pot Maker.
01:49 The coconut trees are cooked to become organic grass.
01:54 We have produced a lot of cocoa pots.
01:56 We don't need to buy plastic anymore.
