Ladies and gentlemen, we have a rap battle. Turns out #ToryLanez wasn’t backing down from #Cassidy after all and decided to deliver much more than a hard-hitting response to the Philadelphia rapper’s “Perjury” diss song.
Enter his unexpected and jaw-dropping "When It’s Dark" NFT freestyle music video. Sure there’s a Lil Pump cameo and some signature iced-out flexing, but what stands out the most is how much Tory Lanez took on Cassidy and delivered epic blowbacks while appearing fazed or out of his zone.
Hours before dropping his first-ever streaming NFT album, Lanez came through with his anthem. Need some genius marketing? How about wait until you’re getting ready to drop a project and then give hip-hop heads what they’ve wanted - a real response.
The bars go way too hard, from Lanez saying he’ll steal anyone “flow and what” to referring to Cassidy as an old head while also referencing the rapper’s now-cringe “Hotel” song from back in 2004.
