Residents have shown their mixed opinions of a £5 million government scheme to transform the parks and greenspaces in a Black Country borough.
The opinions come as Bloxwich Councillors welcome the Green Bloxwich Programme, one of the projects being undertaken as part of a wider £25m Town Deal scheme that is funded by the Government.

00:00 I'm Daniel Walter from the Express-A-Star. I'm down here on a windy day in Blocks, which
00:04 is King George V's playing fields, which has been earmarked as one of the areas that might
00:09 undergo a £5 million improvement scheme that's looking to improve green spaces and parks
00:15 in the area. As you can see behind me, the area is pretty well maintained already. I'm
00:20 down here to talk to residents asking if they believe that the area needs £5 million worth
00:24 of improvements to it. So far, the number of residents that I've talked to have said
00:27 that it's pretty well maintained. The park is pretty good behind me, the park facilities.
00:32 It's pretty well equipped. It's quite popular with the local kids as well. They said that
00:38 maybe a million pound into the local green spaces in the area would be enough and that
00:42 the rest of the money could go towards the town centre, which they say does need an overhaul.
00:47 We'll have to see what happens with the largest amount of the money as it goes on. But yes,
00:51 so far, this is one of the areas that is earmarked as part of the £5 million improvement scheme.
