00:00 When I feed, I'm normally over someone.
00:04 And you just have to keep your mouth open for a really, really long time.
00:08 And if you do that whilst looking down for ages...
00:10 Yeah, yeah. I pulled my back. Yeah, I had a back strain.
00:13 You had a back strain?
00:14 I had a back strain, yeah.
00:16 This was a really hard pour.

00:45 the six-part show set in our city's streets is one to watch for supernatural fans.
00:50 We were invited down to the exclusive premiere and to chat with the cast and writer.
00:54 This one feels so special because it's set in like mostly around the northern quarter in Manchester.
01:00 It's modern day. It's a really diverse cast.
01:03 We have different types of witchcraft from different countries in it.
01:08 We're in clubs, we're in bars, we're in warehouses, we're in alleyways.
01:14 A lot.
01:16 It's really, really...
01:19 Manchester looks amazing in it. It's got all of the energy of this brilliant northern city.
01:25 I think it's needed. It's something that audiences will be excited to watch.
01:30 The hesitation was because of the weather a little bit. It was cold.
01:34 We did a lot of... I mean, I did a lot of night shoots in March in Manchester with no coat.
01:42 So a lot of being in the rain.
01:46 Manchester's got a nice edge to it. It's different.
01:49 So we had a lot of local people coming up, wanting to chat.
01:53 Wanting to know what we're filming and making noise.
01:57 I love that. That's a good thing.
01:59 Filming on a Thursday or a Friday night, things took longer.
02:03 But it was fun. It added to it. Everyone was very lovely to us.
02:07 The blend of supernatural and relationship drama is quite...
02:11 You never know when the supernatural is going to come into the show sometimes.
02:15 I think that makes a thrilling ride for the audience, if that makes sense.
02:20 With the supernatural drama, you get twists and turns.
02:24 Hopefully, keep them guessing until the very end.
02:28 It started trying to put some of my dating experiences and frustrations into her.
02:34 Then when I stewed on it a bit, it's like, "What if you were a predator and you needed to hunt on people?"
02:41 The dating scene is a perfect ground for that.
02:44 It's my comment on how transient dating can be sometimes.
02:49 Swipe, swipe, swipe, ghost, block. All of that.
02:53 But then also the journey she goes on through the series.
02:57 I feel like it mirrored my own journey as a writer and a woman.
03:00 Finding your voice in your 20s, trying to own your power.
03:04 The audience is always out there for these shows.
03:07 From what I hear, everyone's always screaming for that BBC Three supernatural show.
03:12 And yeah, the Americans are doing it,
03:14 but we can do it in our own way.
