00:04 If you're someone who buys or sells online, you're probably familiar with
00:07 Craigslist, one of the trend-setting online classified sites.
00:10 But there are some alternatives out there.
00:13 It should be no surprise that Facebook lands on the list,
00:16 since it's one of the online giants.
00:17 But its marketplace feature is becoming more widely used.
00:21 Digital Trends says that you'll need to have a Facebook profile first, and
00:24 you can set up your search filters for up to 100 miles away from your location.
00:28 Whether it's through the site or an app, the feature is free and
00:31 lets you put a face to the name, unlike Craigslist.
00:33 Another popular site also has a classified section, and that's eBay.
00:37 Famous for its auctions, Money Talks News says the site does have a classified
00:41 section that caters to selling items locally, with filters to search within
00:45 your zip code and finding free local pickup options.
00:48 However, the site does say that eBay isn't free for
00:51 sellers, with a listing usually costing $9.95 for 30 days.
00:55 Letgo gets praise from Digital Trends for
00:57 being user-friendly with its photo-heavy display.
01:00 It is free to buy and sell, but while you do have to sign up for an account,
01:03 it does mean that you can communicate without having to give your phone number
01:06 to a stranger.
01:07 And there are platforms out there that are more specialized,
01:10 with one of them being Poshmark.
01:11 Money Talks News says this marketplace site is focused on fashion.
01:15 But if you're looking to make some cash on clothes or
01:17 shoes buried in your closet, it's not free.
01:20 The site says Poshmark charges a flat fee of $2.95 for sales under $15.
01:24 And anything over that takes 20%.
