Toddlers live their best lives in Blackpool's new child-friendly cafe.

Youngsters can be as 'noisy as they like' as they play in the ball pool, play dress-up, or learn about gruesome facts throughout history.

Sweet Treatment can be found on Talbot Road and there's something to suit babies to older kids.

00:00 When people go out with children they very much feel like they have to try and keep the
00:06 child quiet, keep the child to sit still. It's the complete opposite here. A parent
00:12 can actually sit still for 5-10 minutes while they can watch the children play because it's
00:17 in view of them. There's so many different bits for kids to touch that we're actually
00:22 more making an effort to get them involved. Over on the counter we have a bell so that
00:28 they can ding the bell. So it's all about, you can be noisy, you can touch stuff, you
00:33 can do stuff, you can explore. Children learn through play so I put these
00:46 items out so that they can explore anything that I think they're going to find fascinating
00:51 and like you're saying how they can learn through them. I have information cards as
00:56 well so for instance they can learn about the light bulb and how it was invented. We
01:03 also have a wheel of misfortune and every fact on that you spin it to find out how you
01:10 might have died in the Victorian age but every death actually is true.
01:15 That sounds quite gruesome as well. But that's how you spark the interest of
01:20 kids so body parts, they like it. It's just like the programme Horrible Histories, it's
01:26 why it was so popular. So I'm not trying to scare kids, I have loads
01:39 of things that are fun but I'm trying to spark that interest, get them into something that
01:44 they're fascinated with because learning is so much fun.
01:56 People see the role play toys and straight away think that we're just for little ones
02:00 which obviously we have lots to cater for them but what I've tried to do is balance
02:04 it out for families that have children of different ages so that we've got something
02:08 to interest everybody. So our overall theme is our treatment theme
02:33 but we also have a monthly theme so at the moment we're in Jurassic January, next month
02:38 we're in I Love to Travel and each month we aim to offer something new so that kids want
02:43 to keep coming back and exploring different things.
