Amrita Kaur of New Zealand touched the hearts of Pakistanis - Viral by singing Urdu Punjabi melodies.
Amrita Kaur, of New Zealand, is a singer but an architect by profession as well. Amrita Kaur went viral on social media by singing Urdu Punjabi melodies. Amrita Kaur got training in Indian classical music from Indian Prof. Shugdev Dev Madhur. The first Raag Amrita learned was Bhupali.
Amrita Kaur remarked that her family has spoken English for years at home with a little bit of Punjabi, so she feels a language barrier and faces some problems while speaking Urdu and Punjabi, but every time Amrita comes to Pakistan, her Urdu becomes much better, and when she’s in Lahore, her Punjabi becomes a little bit better but needs more practice.
Amrita Kaur is in Pakistan to perform in Barood Khan Haveli, and Amrita collaborates with Quali duo Zain and Zohaib and with Zeeshan Ali, and projects will be realized soon. On the request of Urdu Point anchor Fatima Waseem, Amrita Kaur sang a song by Reshma, “lambi judai," and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, “sanson ki mala pe pee ka naam."
