U.S. State Department Responds to Putin Declaring Sale of Alaska to U.S. as "Illegitimate"

On Monday, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel responded to reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin is claiming the sale of Alaska to the U.S. was "illegitimate," and ordered his government to allocate funds towards looking into the nation's former real estate abroad.
